Chapter 3.1: Arcane Master’s Association

This chapter is updated by NovelFree.ml

Having greeted guests as the front desk personage in the Arcane Master’s Association for well over a few years, not only did she familiarize herself with the many upper-class folks, but she’d also trained her eyes to the point of being extremely vicious.

She immediately gave Yunxiao a high evaluation, but nevertheless, she was startled by the reason for his help.

“I’m looking for Yan Di. Is he here?” Yunxiao’s gazed wandered back and forth and left and right around the hall as he asked indifferently.

“Lord… Lord Yang Di?!”

Staring deeply at the youth, Lu Yao almost bit her tongue. Though she felt his request absurd, Yunxiao’s different demeanor made her feel that his request was indeed sincere.

She did not know what to do. Preparing her words carefully, she asked for a confirmation, “Are you talking about the former master, Lord Yang Di?”

Yunxiao slightly creased his brows and spoke with a sense of melancholic disappointment. “The former master? So he’s gone?”

She clasped her hands together in front of her chest, cheeks slightly red, and expression full of yearning, she eagerly said, “Twenty years ago, Lord Yang Di broke through the Fourth-Rank Monarch Realm Alchemist and was transferred to the headquarters.”

“Twenty years ago?”

Yunxiao rubbed his temples and thought for a moment. Without Yang Di’s help, it’d prove itself difficult to open up the invisible meridians in his body.

His current body was only at the age of fifteen and he’d missed out a great amount of time that he could cultivate, so delaying any longer was something he could not afford to do, otherwise, even if he’s able to catch up, it’d be impossible to recover the strength he, Gu Feiyang, once had at its peak.

In his past life, Gu Feiyang was revered as Heaven Martial Continent’s rare genius. Not only was he a Ninth-Star Arcane Master Martial Emperor, he was also one of the Seven Great Elders of the Arcane Guild.

T/N: An association refers to the guild. Same meaning. The term is interchangeable with one another.

His achievements in the Dao of martial arts stood the pinnacle of the martial way. Even the experts amongst experts bestowed him the title of “Army Destroyer”.

“I have a list of herbs. Could you help me look it up? I want ten sets of all the ingredients here.”

Yunxiao quickly pulled out an inked pen and paper and wrote down the list of materials needed. Since Yang Di was no longer here, he’d have to make do with the best of his situation and think of a way to heal the hidden injuries in his body.

The Dao of martial arts cannot be delayed even for a moment!

Lu Yao was flabbergasted when she read through the list.

She smiled sweetly. “Little mister, the things listed couldn’t have been written incorrectly, right? I’ve also stayed in the Arcane Association for three to four years, but I’ve never heard any of the things you’ve written down.”

Lu Yao’s words immediately caused Yunxiao worries. He thought of concocting a medicine that could wash away the impurities inside his meridians.

He sighed.

This was, after all, a small branch and it makes sense that not many materials would be present. There were still rare and precious herbs and medicines here, but it might disappoint him.

“Lu Yao, what are you doing?”

A man in black robe walked over. The robe on his body was a typical wear for an Arcane Refiner. There was even a curved emblem pinned on his shoulder—a sort of blood-red mark flashing across the emblem; it was bright and eye-catching.

Every single person present immediately stopped and bowed, their face revealing a look of respect seeing the man make his timely appearance.

The black robed man calmly walked over.

If one were to look carefully, one would notice the gazes of the people present were fixed on the emblem pinned on his shoulder. Their eyes held a look of adoration and envy. As for the black-robed man himself, none looked interested.

Yunxiao’s eyes narrowed before smiling faintly. It was the emblem of a First-Star or Tier 1 Alchemist. The emblem was the symbol of one’s own status. With this emblem, no matter where they’d go in the entire Heaven Martial Continent, they’d be treated extremely well.

T/N: Alchemist and arcane masters are the same terminologies, once again. The author somehow likes to use interchangeable terms. To avoid further confusion, I may or may not stick to one term only. It would depend.

The ranks of Arcane Masters were also divided in the same ranks as that of a Martial Artist. The ninth realm of an Arcane Master corresponds to the honorific title of a Martial Artist on the ninth realm.

Jia Rong was a first realm (Warrior) Arcane Master.

Gu Feiyang was a peerless expert whose existence stepped into the ninth realm in both the path of a Martial Artist and Arcane Master.

Lu Yao turned around. Her eyes reflected the red trace of Jia Rong’s emblem. She suddenly grew silent and respectfully said, “Senior Jia Rong, this little mister prepared a lost and asked me to help him collect the materials.”

“Hmm…” Jia Rong grabbed the paper and gave it a casual look. Then, his brows wrinkled slightly as he crumpled the paper into a ball and threw it behind him. “What nonsense is this? Lord Liang is looking for you.”

Upon hearing Liang Wenyu called for her, Lu Yao jumped in fright. She didn’t dare tarry around any longer.

“Senior Jia Rong, I’ll be going first!”

Without another word, she hurriedly ran away and felt an inexplicable sense of relief in her heart. Even Lord Jia Rong could not recognize the materials on the list. Seems like the kid was indeed messing around. Really, it was laughable that she spent so much of her time with him.

Yunxiao’s face sank.

The recipe he wrote, it was a priceless gem and he could simply sell it for a sky-high price, but it was actually thrown away by a small Tier 1 alchemist like a piece of scrap paper.

“Jia Rong,” Yunxiao called out as Jia Rong turned to walk away.

Jia Rong’s steps halted and a trace of anger flashed across his face. The little brat actually had the gall to call his name! Even nobles of dignitary backgrounds had to respectfully call him “Lord” when they saw him.

“You haven’t broke through a level for the past seven days, right?” Yunxiao lightly folded his left hand in front of his chest as he rubbed the bridge of his nose with his right hand.
