Chapter 53: Stark Industries (1)

This chapter is updated by NovelFree.ml

Kyle and Steve’s rescue mission ended in complete victory. On the same day, Kyle reported the details surrounding the rescue mission and the map he’d looted to Officer Brandt, quickly leaving thereafter and dressing in a formal service dress uniform. He had a meeting tonight –– a rendezvous with Peggy, Howard, and Steve. They’d made plans to hang out before rescuing the imprisoned soldiers. There’s another reason, Kyle’s own motives. Howard’s a rich man with many ideas, after all, and an intellectual gentleman to boot.

So, on the very day of his arrival, under Kyle’s urging, the included parties hopped on Howard Stark’s plane and flew to the nearest city and attended a luxurious banquet. The place they’d gone to was no ordinary restaurant. The golden lights at the front entrance dazzled in bright, ambient luxury coupled with the matching red carpet on the ground. It was made of the finest mahogany, bespoke and carved by a master. There were security guards who had the looks of a model dressed in black formal attire. And the hostesses? They were hot beauties.

“Howard, you’re truly living the life,” Kyle commented with a pleasant smile. Such comfortable lifestyle, it was apparent that Howard was a regular customer. The hostess at the reception did not care to check over his identity. Rather, she spoke to him amorously, voice choked with affection.

The dining hall on the first floor was lavish and grand; a place fit only for the rich and wealthy. The people dining here, they had lived in the lap of luxury all their lives. How gratifying that was.

Under the gentle lights, the violin began playing. Kyle liked the way the violin sang. Something about it set his heart into the deepest of symphonies. It would seem the same for the folks here. They dined to their heart’s content with a pleasant expression, unworried of the ongoing war happening outside.

The moment Howard requested the hostess for a four-person table, Kyle intervened and petitioned for a two double table.

Howard cocked his brows soon as he heard this before bursting out in a chuckle. “Double? Second Lieutenant, you won’t let me have dinner with the beautiful Miss Carter?”

“You’re overthinking.” Kyle rolled his eyes and looked at Peggy standing next to Steve. Tonight, she was not the cold-hardened agent donned in her regular uniform dress. Tonight, she was dressed in red. It slipped onto her shoulders, peppering her body with a soft, sensual look. Like a lover, it seduced the senses and conveyed with utmost skill the art of pleasing. Her red dress, it was just right, forming a delicate outline of her mature figure that’d been disguised over the years.

Kyle’s eyes met with Peggy’s. “Do you remember? I said I’d bring Steve back safely. I didn’t break my promise.” Without waiting for her response, he patted Steve on the shoulder. “Go on ahead and have dinner with Miss Carter.”

“Ah…” Steve gave a cry of surprise before nodding. “Oh… I see.”

Yes, that’s right. I’m giving you a chance. Take advantage of it, brother.

Kyle chuckled. Peggy had no idea that she’d been involved in Kyle’s devilish plan. But more importantly, the purpose of tonight’s dinner was not so simple.

“Dear Guests, come with me, please.” The hostess bowed affectionately, motioning the couple-like duo to the dining area with her graceful hands, leading both Steve and Peggy to their seats.

“Ah, Miss Carter left?” Howard had a solemn look. He glanced over Kyle and said hesitatingly, “So it’s just us two men eating together…?”

“It’s up to you whether you want to eat or not.” Kyle shrugged. “Though to be perfectly honest, I’ve something else I wish to discuss with you tonight.”

“Something else?” Howard asked in doubt.

“As for the details, let us find a place to sit down first,” Kyle said meaningfully.
