Chapter 91

They met XuanYuan LianCheng on their way to the hall, but as she needed to understand how to attend to the emissary from his country, he had told her to return with him to his quarters.

She had followed him silently as they made their way back, but as soon as he stepped through the doorway, he slammed the doors shut, but her body was still halfway through the door!

With a shrilled scream, she rushed through the closing door immediately, barely missing it by half an inch.

What a rude man! She could’ve been heavily injured and in pain if the heavy doors had landed on her body.

But what can she expect? Every single man in this place , with the exception of HeLian ZiJin, was rude and barbaric!

Though she had, in fact, only met Dong JingMo and XuanYuan LianCheng… As for Feng YingYe, he had not returned yet, so she could not comment on him.

XuanYuan LianCheng had already made his way towards the table while she was catching her breath. Noticing it immediately, she ran towards the same table and knelt down beside his legs, intending to pour him a cup of tea.

But as she reached out her hand, she noticed the residual medicinal cream on her fingers. Her hand was left outstretched as she pondered on what she should do as she did not want to anger him with her ‘dirty’ fingers.

Meanwhile, XuanYuan LianCheng had already poured himself a cup of tea, but before he could take a sip, he noticed her hungry gaze on his cup.

“Drink.” He said softly through his pursed lips as he held the cup against hers.

Mu QianQian’s she’s brightened up immediately as she reached out her hands towards the cup.

But his face darkened immediately at her approaching hand, “Drink it, and move your hand away.” He growled impatiently, causing her to jump in shock before eyeing him cautiously.

Though he was impatient, his eyes were not vicious.

The cup was already pressed against her lips, and with a tilt of her head, she could drink from the cup. But was it possible that he was playing a trick on her? What if she went along, and he splashed the entire cup of tea onto her face?

Her fear seemed pretty unlikely, as he would need to be an absolutely evil and cruel person to even do that, but after the treatment she had suffered ever since she arrived at this place, she could not afford to let her guard down!

“What is wrong? You’re willing to eat when he’s fed you, but not willing to even take a drink from me?” He narrowed his eyes dangerously at her as his face turned an even darker shade from before.

She could put her guard down around HeLian ZiJin, but was filled with such fear around him?

Surprisingly, his words calmed her thoughts, as he seemed to be jealous of her calmness around HeLian ZiJin. To think that a man of such authority would be jealous over her, but it’s probably some sort of competition between the men, as there was no way that it was due to her, a common ‘plaything’…

With her thoughts calmed, she took a tiny sip from the cup, before gulping down the remaining tea, “More.” She blinked her huge innocent eyes at him in anticipation.

The exquisite teacup was extremely tiny, it was a common phrase in the modern world, mainly ‘to drink eight cups of water a day’, but with this cup, the phrase would most definitely be changed to ‘drink fifty cups of water’.

XuanYuan LianCheng raised his brows slightly at her words, before pouring another cup and placing it against her lips once again.

He stared at the cheery woman, who was drinking from his cup. She was somewhat like a little puppy, who was willing to get close to anyone who would show her even a tiny bit of kindness. Hell, she would even rub against your legs if it would gain her some pity from you.

Yes, she was THAT desperate for human contact.

A puppy-like woman… The mere though filled him with happiness while his mood lightened up significantly.

He watched her silently as she finished her cup of tea, before glancing at her and waving her over, “Come here.”
