“Fire Swarm!”

Joo Yeon’s magic swept through the stone chamber. The huge flame swallowed them all, like an angry mob.

However, it didn’t go as planned.

The Orc Mage’s defensive spell blocked Joo Yeon’s magic completely..

“They have an Orc Mage! I’ll take care of it!” cried Sung Joon.

“It’s dangerous!” Byung Chul screamed.

Five orcs left their position and surrounded Sung Joon.

“Ms. Joo Yeon! Please hurry and support Mr. Sung Joon with your magic!”

“I can’t! There’re three Orc Mages blocking my magic!” Joo Yeon answered.

Joo Yeon’s magic attacks would’ve been effective if there had been only one Orc Mage. However, the three mages were able to stop Joo Yeon from even casting her magic.

But the three Orc Mages were preoccupied with blocking Joo Yeon’s magic, so they didn’t use any offensive spells.

“Shit!” the once calm Byun Chul cursed, protecting Joo Yeon quickly.

Although he wanted to help Sung Joon immediately, he had to stay back and protect Joo Yeon. Besides, he had met Sung Joon for the first time today. On the other hand, Joo Yeon was a guild executive, so Sung Joon was much lower on the pecking order.

The five Orcs signaled to each other with a custom code and attacked together. Though Sung Joon was in a dangerous situation, he thought…

‘I’ll push my limits a little.’

If he didn’t, he would die!

Sung Joon exceeded his limits a little. He could perceive the orcs’ movements once he lifted his body’s limitations.

He quickly came to a decision by utilizing the memories of his past life.

First – head.

Second – neck.

Third – waist.

Fourth – left foot.

Fifth – right arm.

There aren’t any blind spots. Then…

In the boundary between life and death, his sleeping battlefield experience awoke.

‘Left foot!’

Sung Joon aimed for the orc’s left foot. He lowered his stance and his sword flowed softly. He pushed into the Orc’s defenses and tripped it while the Orc aimed for his waist.

He stepped over the fallen Orc and escaped the area.

“Good god! How did he move like that? That’s impossible!” his teammates exclaimed.

Sung Joon’s movements stood out even amidst a chaotic battlefield.

Once he got out of the area, his instincts pulled his attention elsewhere.

The Orc Mages were over there.

‘I have to take out the Orc Mages,’ Sung Joon determined.

Sung Joon ran towards the mana that he had sensed.

“Ha!” he yelled. His sword pierced an Orc’s heart. The other Orc belatedly mounted a defense but the end result was the same.

Sung Joon nimbly deflected the Orc’s sword. While they crossed blades, the Orc slipped and his defense crumbled. Sung Joon seized that opportunity.

He cut the orc’s throat and it fell, spurting fresh hot blood.

‘Found you!’ he thought triumphantly.

He saw the other Orc Mages across from the Orc’s corpse. He moved immediately, remembering to absorb the mana.

He had recovered his mana as well as his stamina, though he still felt the pain from exceeding his limits.

“Heal!”

The pain started to die down after he used his ‘Heal’. He cut through the three Orcs that blocked him and threw himself towards the Orc Mages.

The Orc Mages were in an intense magic match with Joo Yeon, so they didn’t react when Sung Joon approached. Even if they had, their concentration would slip, allowing Joo Yeon to cast her magic and take the Orcs by surprise.

Three Orcs attempted to protect the Mages, but died in vain.

Sung Joon killed the three Orc Mages without hesitation.

“Absorb.” Sung Joon raised his hand and mana rose from their dead bodies. He absorbed the mana and recovered both his stamina and mana.

Sung Joon smiled, completely revitalized.

“I took care of them!” he said.

“Come this way!” yelled Joo Yeon.

Sung Joon retreated and Joo Yeon’s magic exploded. The blaze spread and swallowed all the Orcs across the room.

The flame-wreathed Orcs, unable to withstand the pain, protested and rolled about the stone floor. However, they were unable to put out the magic fire.

Around half of the Orcs turned to ash.

‘So this is a Mage’s ability. They say that Mages are even rarer than Healers,’ Sung Joon mused.

This was the first time he’d seen a Mage fight. Most Mage Hunters were highly rated, so Sung Joon had never previously been matched with them.

“Byung Chul!” Joo Yeon cried out. Sung Joon heard Byung Chul collapse and directed his attention to the duo.

Byung Chul was bleeding so severely that his blood formed a puddle on the ground. Joo Yeon supported him.

Sung Joon swept the blood off his sword with one stroke and observed his surroundings. The number of Orcs had dropped significantly, so they had some spare time, but the battle wasn’t over yet.

‘Ji Byung Chul can’t fight… and the dungeon run will become much more difficult without Joo Yeon, but she needs protection. Then…’

He quickly made a decision. After his awakening, he didn’t hesitate anymore.

“I’ll take the lead,” he said decisively.

The Orcs targeted Joo Yeon. She urgently summoned a fireball and swept away an Orc, but two others remained.

Sung Joon dropped, rolled and expertly threw a spear he had picked up, as if he had trained himself to do so for dozens of years. The spear hit its target and pierced the Orc’s head.

He turned his attention to the final Orc. Sung Joon rushed to protect Joo Yeon.

“W-What in the world?” stammered Joo Yeon.

He could only be described as a God of War, as he cut through the Orcs blocking his way.

Only five Orcs remained, and they moved jointly to corner Sung Joon. However, Sung Joon already knew what they were up to and he wouldn’t let the Orcs do as they pleased.

“Ha!”

Sung Joon threw a rolling rock from the floor. He must’ve used a lot of strength, because the Orc’s head burst like a watermelon. The Orcs’ formation crumbled and Sung Joon was able to take care of them one by one.

Joo Yeon and Byung Chul watched till the end with vacant expressions. Though Sung Joon’s swordsmanship looked unrefined, it was certainly designed for the battlefield. His skill was such that others might mistake him for a veteran Combat Hunter.

“Absorb.”

After the battle, Sung Joon raised his hand and the mana arose from the corpses. He absorbed the mana, recovering both his mana and his stamina, and also felt his memories become clearer as well.

Sung Joon quickly went to Byung Chul after he was finished.

“A Styptic, please,” Byung Chul requested.

Byung Chul’s hands shook around the Styptic due to his excessive bleeding.

“I’ll do it,” Sung Joon said.

He stretched his hand towards Byung Chul’s injury. After awakening, he had never used his Heal to treat someone severely wounded. However, he strangely felt overwhelmingly confident.

“B-But your healing power…”

They weren’t scorning him, so Sung Joon simply smiled and wordlessly drew out his mana.

“Heal!”

White light covered the wound, stemming the bleeding, and began to heal the fatal wound.

“H-How’s this possible?” Byung Chul stammered.

“Your healing power…?” Joo Yeon asked.

His healing power had surpassed that of B-rank Healers’, shocking the other two. He felt great, because it felt as if he had been acknowledged, though he couldn’t laugh because he had used up a ton of mana.

‘After I awoke the memories of my past life, my ‘Heal’ has changed as well.’

He wasn’t completely sure, but it seemed that his healing power rose in strength irregularly. His healing power had increased, so the mana consumption was sure to follow.

“It’s a serious wound. The wound is somewhat healed, but it looks like it’ll take around an hour and thirty minutes,” Sung Joon advised.

“It’d take three hours for a normal B-rank Healer!” Joo Yeon exclaimed.

“That’s amazing. This is the first time I’ve seen this kind of speed,” said Byung Chul.

Joo Yeon’s Guild had a few Healers in it and she had formed parties with them before. Therefore, she knew the approximate amount of healing power a Healer around their level should have, but she had never seen such superb healing power.

“You’re likely the best B-rank Healer. Also, you have a Presence Detection skill that surpasses Detection Magic… you’re truly amazing.” marveled Joo Yeon.

“Based on what I just saw, you seem to have superb swordsmanship… Mr. Kang Sung Joon, are you really a Healer?” Byung Chul asked.

Sung Joon smiled. He recalled his past and his low healing power, and laughed uncontrollably.

“Well, I guess you could say that I’m still a Healer.”
