Translator: Guy Gone Bad

The car drove into a house he was familiar with. It was a traditional Chinese house with a courtyard, simple but elegant.

It had pavilions and attics like the ancient Chinese residence. He grew up here but now he had to rely on somebody else to get into it.

Han family was not very big. Han’s grandfather had two sons and one daughter. The daughter was Han Mingxu’s mother who died years ago. Before that, Han’s father had already died of an accident. Han Mingxu was raised by his grandfather alone. He was highly respected in the entire family because his grandfather loved his daughter very much and spoiled Han Mingxu who was the only child of his daughter. The rumor said that the next master of Han family after Han’s grandfather might be Han Mingxu.

However, accident happened two years ago.

Han’s father was a prince of Leiluo Kingdom, first heir to the throne. Unexpectedly he gave up his throne and his country for a Chinese girl he loved.

Now that the king of Leiluo was ill and the country was in a chaos, they greatly needed a rightful heir. That was why the king thought of Han Mingxu.

The public assumed that Han Mingxu was assassinated because someone planned to stop him succeeding to the throne. After the accident, Han went back to Leiluo and was crowned as the prince. He came back because he was told that Li Qinghao came around.

“Are you disappointed?” Han Mingxu teased Li Qinghao who didn’t show many emotions, “because it is not a fancy castle or villa as you imagined?”

He meant to be ironic but he sounded like he was making jokes with an old friend.

Li Qinghao didn’t answer him.

As the car pulled over, Li Qinghao rushed out. The red maple leafs were falling out of the tree like gifts dropping from the heaven. He looked up and caught one leaf. He missed everything here.

Han Mingxu looked at him and was too stunned to remember to close the car door. He approached Li Qinghao, “it has a special name, 12 Months.”

“12 Months?” Li Qinghao repeated. Han Mingxu thought he was asking him why and he explained, “because it is always like this for 12 months in a year. It doesn’t go through sprouting, blooming, and withering like other plants.”

Han Mingxu closed his eyes and stretched his arms to feel the tranquility of the world. Although Li Qinghao knew why it was called 12 Months, he looked back at him and saw a different Han Mingxu.

They were standing so close that Li Qinghao could even see every Han’s eyelash. He didn’t know why, but that face he had watched since he remembered things looked extra good on him. He had no such feelings when he had that face before.

Looking closer, Han Mingxu was enjoying the embrace of the nature like an innocent kid, so not like the canny him he usually was.

Such a complicated men, thought Li Qinghao to himself.

Seeing with the corner of his eyes that Li Qinghao was sizing him up, Han Mingxu asked, “do you like my face?” His voice was so soft as if he was talking to someone he loved.

Stepping back, Li Qinghao calmed himself, “no worse than Nancheng Lie.”

Han Mingxu approached, “do you still think Nancheng Lie is the best even if you have lost your memories?” Li Qinghao could feel Lie’s breath on his cheek.

What is he implying? He wondered.

“Huh?” Han stepped closer that they were almost standing against each other.

Before Li Qinghao attempted to step further back, Han Mingxu put his arm around his waist, “do you forget what the doctor said?” He squeezed Li Qinghao into his arms and brushed his earlobe with his lips, along with a strong desire in his eyes, which Li Qinghao couldn’t see.

“Should he be the best in my eyes?” Li Qinghao didn’t refuse me because he knew it was no use to refuse him, besides, he had a reason not to refuse.
