Chapter 1659 Questions About The Gnome World

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

The Family Head's question made everyone look at Grey, even Connor couldn't believe his ears. He knew Grey was in the Sovereign Plane, but he didn't think that Grey was that powerful in the Sovereign Plane. This question placed all eyes on Grey, even Lucas wasn't an exception, there was a hint of shock in his eyes. The plan was for Grey to go to the Gnome World and cause unimaginable chaos, him growing this much in such a short time wasn't something he prepared for. Grey's growth will only make things difficult for them, and just as Lucas thought, someone asked the question. "Did you get the God's inheritance?" This was the only practical answer to their questions at the moment. A Sovereign using only two months to go from the First stage to the Fifth stage could only be possible if said Sovereign accepted a God's inheritance, and since the last place Grey was seen was the God's tomb, it isn't impossible that he acquired the God's inheritance. However, Lucas is well aware that there was no inheritance, so Grey grew this rapidly on his own, basically during his time in the Gnome World. 'What the hell is in the Gnome World that made him grow this fast?' Lucas was stomped, he could see the eyes of everyone when that question was asked, if he didn't know any better, he too would have had the same thoughts as these people. Grey looked at them and shook his head, "I think we can all accept that there's no God's inheritance in that place." His words made the others calm down since they knew that he was right, but their curiosity was getting the better of them, they wanted to know just how Grey was able to grow this fast in such a short span of time. They've all been trying to stay alive in the God's tomb, yet Grey went on to grow with an incredible speed, it was disheartening just thinking about it.

"How then?" An Elder asked. "Although I'm not obligated to tell you this, what's the harm?" Grey shrugged and went on to lie to them, it's not like they had any way to prove that he was lying, or saying the truth either.

"I was fortunate enough to get a fortuitous encounter…" Grey told them about how he saw a cave that had a few treasures that made him grow in such a short time. Everyone knew that this was the result of a powerful treasure, they just wanted to know what, and everything Grey was saying to them wasn't something they didn't know, what they wanted to know is what he got, and how he got it.

Grey's words didn't tell them what he got, and how he got it, but he did tell them that it was in the God's tomb, something they were all aware of. The Family Head wanted to continue asking him questions, but he saw his father shake his head at him, telling him to stop questioning Grey.

The Family Head didn't go against his father's advice, he let Grey be. Since Grey was the one they were asking Lucas about, there was no point in continuing their meeting since Grey was present and he was better than ever. The main reason they asked about Grey was because of how much the Gnomes wanted to kill Grey while they were in the God's tomb. And Lucas not opening the portal on time to send people out which caused a lot of death on the sides of Families and Factions increased their enemies. If not for the fact that the humans didn't want to fight amongst themselves at such a time, they would've already been attacked by now.

…. Grey left the Hall with his father, heading to his grandfather's place. "How was the plan?" Lucas asked as soon as they entered the house, after sealing everywhere from outside inspections. "Better than expected, most of the top Princes in line for the position as Emperor have been killed, and the most likely candidate right now is someone on my side." Grey replied. Grey's grandfather looked at him and smirked, "Far better than expected, kid you jumped four stages, you're about to skip the Fifth stage and become a Sixth stage Sovereign." "What about your friends? Any casualties?" Lucas asked about Klaus and the others' wellbeing. "At least the Third stage, most likely currently in the Fourth or Fifth stage." Grey hasn't been in contact with his friends since he left the Gnome World and returned to the Aurora Continent. Lucas didn't expect that Grey and his friends would sneak in and out of the Gnome World without any of them losing their lives, he couldn't fathom how that was possible, he was itching to ask Grey how it was possible since it would be easy for the Gnomes to know that they were normal humans and not even Necromancers, but he decided against it, there was no point in questioning Grey and his friends, since they survived, then it was best to leave it at that. "Where's mother and Cori?" Grey didn't see them and wanted to ask if they were in the Lyttelton Family. "Martha took Cori out for a trip, they should be back soon enough." Lucas replied. Cori had returned from the Lyttelton Family a while back, so Martha took her out to see just how far she had grown. Of course she couldn't be compared to the freakish Grey, but for her age, she's unbelievable. Grey didn't ask any other questions about Cori and went on to tell his father about how he leveled the Capital City of the Gnomes while causing a massive drop in their top experts below the Late stages of the Sovereign Plane. He made sure to kill as many as he could while he was there, thus, helping humans when the war eventually starts. As much as the battle revolves solely around those at the top, a large majority of the battle relies heavily on those with lower cultivation stages, so it's better for humans if Grey could take out all the powerhouses below the Late stages of the Sovereign Plane, after all, the Gnomes had more experts. "The politics in their world isn't that different from ours. It's good you killed the top candidates, at least they'll be preoccupied with dealing with the threat which has already disappeared. Until they find the danger, they won't necessarily be able to freely invade since they know there's a chance they're once again giving an opportunity to this hidden danger." Grey's grandfather commented. This was what he felt from all Grey said, and thinking about it, it was true. The only time the top experts of the Gnome World left, their entire world was thrown into chaos by someone they didn't know.

….

Grey and his father were discussing his deeds in the Gnome World, while the Gnome World on the other hand was in disarray after Grey's attacks. It has been over a month, yet they haven't been able to recover from the shock of the attack. The Gnomes didn't even know who did this, to a certain extent, they felt it was an enemy of the Royal Family of the Gnome World, they didn't even have the thought of their World being invaded by anyone. The Emperor called for an emergency meeting a few days after his return. He heard about everything that happened before he came and he was lost for words, he didn't believe that the Gnome World would suffer such devastating losses in the space of only a month after he left. The cause of the losses is still unknown which he found even more annoying, everyone he has questioned has come up with the same words, the Second Prince, one of the Princes with the highest chances to succeed him as the Emperor dropped an item and used the array placed in the Palace to cause a massive explosion that secretly unleashed poison miasma in the Capital, before multiple explosions rang out across different places in the Capital.

"How did no one sense the attacks from the other sides?" The Emperor was trying to calm down, since he came back, he has been beyond incensed. His Palace has been destroyed, and even some of the Princes were not only dead, but one of them is being accused of setting off the initial explosion. The bodies of the First and Second Princes haven't been found, and even the Seventh Prince was almost killed, luckily, he was saved by his newly recruited subordinates, if not, he too would've been killed. The bodies of those four subordinates were still missing, but everyone saw them get caught in the attack as they were helping the Seventh Prince escape from the range of the explosion. "So no one knows who set off the other attacks?" He looked at the Elders who were left behind. "We were busy with the miasma that was invading the Capital, we didn't sense any hint of another attack until the last minute."
