Chapter 2014 2014: Slaughter

A Peak Sovereign Gnome might be powerful to others, but to Grey and his friends, he was no different from other Gnomes. The reason for this was simple, as long as Grey cuts off his connection between him and his Puppet, he is bound to seriously wound the Gnome if not even kill him in one blow.

This was exactly the case as the battle started, the Gnome naturally did not recognize Grey and brought out his Puppet from the start. Grey and his friends were fighting against the Peak Sovereign Gnome, and although the Gnome had subordinates, he could sense that the strength these youngsters were able to use was more than ordinary, so he told them to sit back and only attack to distract them once in a while.

It did not take more than five minutes before he noticed something was wrong. Each time he is about to land a crucial strike, he is blocked by Grey or Reynolds. The duo were the fastest in the group, and with their speed, it was easy for them to interfere with the Peak Sovereign Gnome's fatal attack. Just when the Gnome was starting to have a bad premonition, he felt his heart clench as he felt a sense of looming danger. Before he could even react, he noticed his connection with his Puppet had been cut off. He was left in an immobilized state for a second, but that second was enough to put his life in danger. He struggled to regain consciousness.

At the time he regained his consciousness, he was bombarded by attacks from Grey, Alice, Klaus, and Reynolds. Hugh did not come with them for this trip.

The Gnome reacted hastily, setting up multiple defenses. He managed to keep his life, but he was struck down by the attacks of the group.

"He's Grey Dawson! Kill him!" The Gnome yelled before he slammed into the ground, coughing up a mouthful of blood.

The surrounding Gnomes exchanged glances, looking at the group of four floating mid-air in shock. They found it hard to believe that their Commander was taken down by the group. However, after hearing the name Grey Dawson, they soon realized why it was possible. The entire Gnome Race had been updated on Grey's abilities, and they knew that he was not only able to cut off their connections with their Puppets, but his personal strength was also not to be joked with.

There were a few hundred Gnomes present, and only about twelve of them were in the Sovereign Plane. Unfortunately, they were all in the Mid stages and below, none of them other than the Commander was above the Mid stages.

Grey turned his cold gaze to these Gnomes and without a word, shot straight into the crowd.

Klaus, Reynolds, and Alice followed behind him. They were all infuriated by the scene of corpses when they arrived at the place of the battle, so now that they could exact revenge, they did not hold back at all.

The twelve Mid stages Sovereigns grouped up as they surrounded the group, blocking their paths. Unfortunately for them, they gathered in one area. Grey, sending a message to his friends, suddenly flickered and his body changed to a Gnome.

The eyes of the Gnomes widened so much that it almost popped out of their head. The reason for this was that not only did they find it incredulous that Grey suddenly transformed into one of them, but the person he turned to looked exactly like one of them, one of the Sixth stage Sovereign Gnomes to be precise. They could not help but look in the direction of the supposed Gnome, only to see a wave of blue flames spreading in their direction.

They scattered in different directions, hoping to escape from the flames.

Grey naturally had no plans of letting any of them leave this place. Void appeared on his shoulder, giving the escaping Gnomes a nonchalant look, his pitch black eyes glowed and they all felt like they were stuck in a quagmire. One has to know that this was eleven Mid stage Sovereigns, yet they were all impacted by Void's ability.

Void made the space around them feel like muddy waters, significantly slowing them down.

At the same time, Reynolds and Alice took action, cutting down one Gnome after another. The Sixth stage Sovereign Gnome who Grey switched places with was immediately sealed in a block of ice. He did not even have the strength to resist. When Klaus was a Seventh stage Sovereign, he could already do this to a Sixth stage Sovereign, much less now that he had advanced to the Eighth stage.

Klaus did not spare the Gnome a glance, rather, he dived straight to the hundreds of Gnomes that were on the ground. These were all Gnomes that were below the Sovereign Plane, so there was no way they could even put up any form of fight against Klaus. He opened his palm, revealing a large snowflake. The snowflake floated out of his palm, before exploding above the Gnome troop.

A single Sovereign has no problem with killing hundreds of thousands of Venerables. A few hundred Gnomes stood no change against Klaus, an Eighth stage Sovereign.

Grey, Alice, and Reynolds dealt with the Sovereigns. It took a few minutes, but they quickly ended the lives of the Gnomes. The entire time that the group went on a killing spree, the Peak Sovereign Commander never made an appearance again, it was like he was dead.

Noticing this, Grey walked to the place where the Commander landed. Snorting coldly he turned to his friends, "He escaped."

"I can track him." Alice chuckled.

Grey raised a brow before smiling, "Lead the way."

Somewhere a few hundred kilometers away from the place where Grey and his friends were slaughtering the Gnomes, the figure of a Gnome could be seen blitzing through the air in a panicked manner. He was basically burning his life essence to increase his speed. His entire figure was covered in injuries.

'Damn it! I thought they said Grey Dawson was in secluded training?! What the hell is he doing here?!' The Gnome had the urge of killing someone right now. They have been paying close attention to the whereabouts of Grey Dawson over the course of the battle, after all, he was someone that could turn the tide of almost any battle involving them. Unless they did not want to make use of their Puppets, which would significantly reduce their strength.

Since the seal on the passage was broken, Grey Dawson has not made any appearance, and after inquiries, they found out he was undergoing secluded cultivation. He did not expect him to suddenly make an appearance. As he escaped, he took out a communication bead, sending out a message to the other Gnomes about the appearance of Grey. This was not something he could keep hidden, he had to pass the news.

He had just sent the news when he felt something, looking behind him, he saw a figure flickering rapidly in the distance, even though it was a few tens of kilometers, with each flicker, almost eight kilometers was covered. This sight scared him greatly as he pushed his body to move as fast as he could. He was a revered Peak Sovereign, yet he was being chased in such a manner by youngsters that were not even old enough to be his grandchildren!

He continued running as fast as he could, but with each passing second, the gap between them was shortened. It was almost like he could not escape from Grey. Seeing that there was just Grey, he came to a decision and stopped.

Grey appeared a few hundred meters away from him with a carefree expression on his face, "Tired of running?"

The Gnomes gnashed his teeth and said, "I must admit that I did not expect you to appear, but you must be a fool if you believe you can kill me by yourself."

"If you were at your peak, I might have had some reservations." Grey did not hide the fact that he was no match for a Peak Sovereign yet, nevertheless, he smiled and added, "But in your current state, how much strength do you think you can use? A Ninth stage Sovereign? Slightly stronger?"

The expression of the Gnome changed when he heard Grey's words. Yes, he was severely injured by the attack of the group and can not use his full strength at the moment. At most he could only use about sixty percent of his strength, and that should only be around the same strength as a Ninth stage Sovereign. The young man before him was not only well-known for his amazing fighting prowess, but he was also a Space Elementalist, so it is difficult to even keep him in one place.

Snorting coldly, the Gnome sneered, "Don't get cocky, if you think you're my opponent because I'm injured, then I'll show you the strength of a Peak Sovereign."
