“Be careful, there are some killing arrays around this area.” Grey suddenly commented from the back of the group.
Silvan nodded and said, “There are indeed arrays present, but they are the least of our problems. According to our intelligence, there is a clan residing here who protect the core. Once we move close, they will attack without mercy.”
Everyone’s expression turned serious when they heard that there was a clan protecting the core. After sensing the Ninth stage Sovereign level attack from the array attacking the other group, Gareth felt grateful they had someone like Grey in their group. They had only gone past a hundred meters, yet they had not faced any attacks. Whereas the other group has faced multiple attacks even though they had not even gotten over a hundred meters. If Grey were to be with the other group and not Silvan’s group, Gareth knew they would be the ones facing such difficulties.
Things went from bad to worse for the other group when they did not have to worry about just the arrays, but they also had to deal with the attacks from the clan of beastpeople staying here. The disturbance caused by the attacks of the arrays would naturally alert the beastpeople staying here.
Gareth snickered at the misfortune of the other group as their own group advanced unimpeded.
As they continued forward, something caught their eyes.
“Arthur you court death!” Silvan’s furious roar was heard as everyone turned in a particular direction.
Some distance away from them, the young man referred to as Arthur, who was leading the other group was rushing in their direction, behind them was a large group of beastpeople.
“Silvan don’t be like that, we both entered this place together to help each other.” Arthur replied with a cunning smile as he led the beastpeople attacking them in Silvan’s direction.
Arthur noticed Silvan’s group from the start, hence the reason he rushed in. He never expected that while they would be facing multiple array attacks, Silvan’s group would be advancing without any obstacles. What made him more vexed was that even when the clan of beastpeople arrived, they attacked only his group, leaving Silvan’s group. At this rate, Silvan was bound to obtain the treasure, something he could not allow happen. The reason he stepped into this place was to acquire this treasure, so how could he watch someone take it while being forced to be the distraction?
Grey squinted his eyes as he looked at Arthur. To be honest, if he were in the same situation while fighting for such a valuable treasure, there was a chance he might do the same thing Arthur is doing right now. The battlefield was very chaotic as everyone fought for their lives. Gareth never stopped cursing at Arthur for his evil act. Arthur, naturally cared less what Gareth had to say, all that mattered was that he had slowed down the advances of Silvan’s group.
Both groups focused on defending themselves. No one had the strength to counterattack. It was not that they did not want to, but unfortunately, the situation did not give them the luxury to do that. First off, there were four Peak Sovereigns in the clan of beastpeople, and each of these Peak Sovereigns attacked ruthlessly. Under normal circumstances, Silvan and his group could deal with two or even three Peak Sovereigns. The environment they were in made this simply impossible, and all they could do was defend and advance at the same time, hoping they would be able to break the restriction on them after getting close to the Core.
Both groups focused on only advancing, each trying to keep most of their strength for when they found the Magical Beast’s Core, only then could each party explode out with formidable attacks.
