Grey expected the mercenaries to make such a valiant effort once they realized there was no escaping, but he only scoffed at their foolishness. A battle of such caliber was not something a dying Sixth and Fifth stage Sovereigns could involve themselves in. Even at their peak, they would still not be able to impact the battle, much less in such a state.
“You three are not worthy of joining such a battle, now stay quiet and wait for your deaths.” Grey snorted coldly before adding, “Void, seal them to make sure they don’t commit suicide.”
After saying this, Grey did not bother with them again. He realized there was no point waiting any further. He only wanted the group to feel despair, and he could tell that they were fully consumed by it now, which eventually forced them to make such a decision.
Void, who had been quiet all this while on a building roof stood up lazily.
The lady and her remaining two men were stunned when they heard Grey give this command. This meant there was someone else here watching the battle all this while and not intervening.
When Void suddenly appeared before them as they were charging forward, they all froze. The middle-aged man’s pupils constricted when he saw the small black cat. Thinking back to when he just stepped out to confront Grey, he recalled hearing him telling someone to seal the area. Now he understood why they could not leave this damned place, it was all this cat’s fault!
The lady did not sense the presence of Void at all, and even though he was standing before them, it was almost like he was not there. The last time she got this feeling was when she first saw Grey.
‘Doesn’t that mean it’s just as strong as he is?’ The lady’s heart dropped. Even when she wanted to fight back, she realized that she could not. She burst into a fit of laughter all of a sudden, tears flowing down her face uncontrollably. She was nothing, an insignificant person that could not even take her own life if she wanted to.
While laughing, she felt all the energy leaving her body as she was tossed to the ground along with the two men.
The bunny leader appeared beside Void and asked in his tiny voice, “Do you think they have anything good on them?”
“Let’s check! I call dibs on the crazy lady!” Void said and vanished, appearing on the head of the lady, before snatching her spatial ring.
The lady did not even try to struggle, only lying on the ground, laughing hysterically.
The two men were once again thrown off their feet by the sudden appearance of the bunny leader. They could tell it was also quite strong. Now they knew their struggles all this while was actually Grey giving them a little bit of hope before brutally crushing it. The middle-aged man did not think someone this young could be this calculated and evil.
While the bunny leader and Void were robbing the mercenaries, Grey had already unleashed not just one, but two four colored fusion orbs at the puppet. He had already mastered the act of creating four colored fusion orbs over the past years, only a fifth colored one or higher would require him putting more effort. He could create a four colored fusion orb almost instantly now. Just like the lady had thought, Grey was only delaying so he would use the puppet to kill them all, with the exception of the lady.
The puppet dealt with the first fusion orb, only to be blasted by the second one. It crashed into one of the buildings, destroying it completely. It crawled out of the building, only to be met by a rain of fire snakes. Ice shards came raining down just as the fire snakes were dealt with.
The puppet tried to fly to the sky, but just as it got only a meter off the ground, a hand made from the earth element came out of the ground, grabbing its foot and dragging him back to the ground to face the incoming attacks from Grey.
The puppet shattered the hand, flying into the sky to once again clash with Grey.
The impact of their fight grew even stronger than before, and Void’s domain was forcefully broken by it.
“Fuck you, you bastard!” Void suddenly raged as his domain was broken. Although the impact was not much on someone of his level, still facing any form of backlash was not something he enjoyed.
“Damn it! I should’ve dispelled it after apprehending these guys.” Void sulked.
“Stop complaining, it’s not like he did it on purpose. You know he’s still getting used to his current strength.” The bunny leader laughed at Void’s misfortune even though he was trying to defend Grey.
“You know he did it on purpose! Look at his evil smile.”
“He’s smiling at how strong he has become. What’s wrong with that?”
The bunny leader and Void continued their bickerings to the dismay of the mercenaries who did not have a single strength. Watching how the battle between Grey and the puppet was turning out, they could tell that Grey would eventually win. Even if the puppet somehow finds a way to gain the upper hand, Void and the bunny leader could just join the fight and end him.
The battle raged on for almost thirty minutes before the puppet finally shattered to pieces. Grey was the winner as expected, but he was not unscathed. He was bleeding from his nose, mouth, and ears. There was also a large gash on his right thigh as well as his stomach that were bleeding seriously.
‘He actually beat a Peak Sovereign.’ The middle-aged man, although already expecting it, found it hard to believe. A youth so young actually managed to achieve something he was not sure he could ever accomplish in his lifetime. Well, given his current situation, that was impossible anyway.
