The entire battlefield was filled with corpses, be it bunnies or humans, or Gnome’s, there were corpses everywhere.
Grey looked at the ensuing battle happening with the remaining Eighth stage Sovereigns. They were still entangled with the bunny leader, and after Void defeated his opponent, he did not try to assist the bunny leader.
Void appeared on Grey’s shoulder when he noticed the latter was done killing his opponents.
“Should we help the bunny? I feel he’s doing well on his own.” Void remarked.
“He can’t use his space element. Come, let’s break their stupid seal first before we decide what to do with them. We need to be quick, I recall them speaking of an emissary.” Grey took another glance at the bloodshed, unfazed by the number of people who had to die by his hands. He has never been one to be shaken after a kill. Since he took a life when he went out to explore during his younger years in Lunar Academy, he had grown accustomed to killing.
The nine Eighth stage Sovereigns trying to capture the bunny leader were slowly starting to feel despair. They had thought they would capture the bunny leader before Grey and the army of bunnies could kill too many people. It had been almost thirty minutes since the fight started, and even with them sealing the region and taking away Grey’s space element, he still managed to kill off all of them in such a short time. There was also the cat whose means were even more brutal. At least Grey gave his opponents quick deaths. Void played with the Eighth stage Sovereign like a predator toying with his food. The Eighth stage Sovereign died the most gruesome death of all those who had been killed here.
Seeing Grey and the bunny leader approach, Natt knew there was no way for them to stop them. He knew this all this while, but he had thought they would be able to fight Grey and his magical beasts to a draw given their numbers. There was also the thought of the emissary coming anytime soon. As long as they could hold on, they would be saved.
Looking at the current situation however, there was no hope for them.
“Escape!” He turned around, turning into a bolt of light as he dashed towards another direction of the forest.
The other Eighth stage Sovereigns were waiting for this order as they too had the same thoughts as Natt. They moved out so quickly that Grey and Void did not manage to get to them in time.
Grey looked at the bunny leader who was panting pitifully from the pursuit and asked, “Will their seal affect the ones you guys set up?”
Taking in deep breaths, the bunny leader replied slowly, “No… no. But they can break it if given enough time. So you guys better act now.”
The bunny leader made sure to exclude himself from the upcoming battle as he was already exhausted from running. If not for the fact that he was able to recruit powerful bunnies from the last small world they visited, he did not know what his current situation would be.
Grey chuckled when he noticed this but did not really bother, with only nine Eighth stage Sovereigns who were separated, he was confident he could deal with them quickly.
“I’ll come back soon. Void, track the others while I take out the leader. You don’t have to fight them, just make it impossible for them to break the seal.” After saying this, he turned to the bunny leader and asked, “Can a few of your bunnies also help with this? They don’t have to fight.”
The bunny leader looked at the dead bunnies on the ground with complicated emotions before nodding.
Sensing the bunny leader’s emotions, Grey explained, “I tried to keep the damage as low as I could.”
“I know. Now go, two of them have already started to attack the seal.” The bunny leader waved, sending out a few Ninth and Eighth stage Sovereign bunnies after the escaping Gnomes and humans.
Grey nodded before an ice shard shot straight for the large discs the Gnomes used to seal the region, making them incapable of using the space element.
After destroying it, his figure vanished, appearing hundreds of meters away. Void and the bunny leader also disappeared as well.
Some distance away, deep in the forest.
“They want to kill all of us. Looks like he already knew our strength and was confident.” Natt mumbled as he attacked the film-like veil before him. If not for crashing into it, he did not even notice it at all. He attacked with all his might, even going as far as bringing out his Ninth stage Sovereign puppet. Yes, he had a puppet as powerful as this, but due to Grey’s presence, he dared not bring it out. Now that he was a good distance away from Grey, he hoped to use the puppet to help him destroy the veil as soon as possible.
As their attacks grew fiercer and he finally saw hope of leaving this place, a voice that terrified him came from behind.
“You seem to be in a hurry, what’s the occasion?” Grey asked playfully as he stood on a tree branch, looking at the Gnome called Natt.
Natt’s first reaction was to keep his puppet in his storage ring, not daring to let it be out in the open in the presence of Grey.
Natt’s reaction was within Grey’s expectations, but he did not think the Gnomes were this scared of him.
“What do you want?” Natt asked, edging backwards, only to be stopped by the veil he had been trying to break.
“I heard you people speak of an emissary, where is he?” Grey asked.
“He’s not here, else do you think you’d still be standing if he was here?” Natt, albeit afraid, was still proud.
Grey knew the emissary was not present, there was no way anyone would watch such a large group get killed and not make a move, no matter how useless they were.
“I know he’s not here. What I want to know is, how far is he from this place?”
