Chapter 2077: Fighting The Emissary

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Natt could not understand what he was feeling. He felt like his life was in danger, yet the only one who would want to kill him is being suppressed by the emissary and would most likely be defeated, so why did he feel this way?

After giving it some more thought, he decided he was just being worried for no reason as there was no one Grey would be able to defeat the emissary.

As Natt pondered his increased heart rate, Grey was being forced back by each attack from the emissary. This was the first time Grey was being dominated by the physical strength of someone that was not a magical beast. It was a new experience for him, but not one he could not handle.

The emissary’s attacks were brutal, all aiming to take Grey’s life or at least seriously wound him.

Grey dodged the attacks he could, and blocked the ones he could not dodge. His entire body moved with the same speed as the emissary, ensuring he did not get caught by the latter’s attacks.

As time went on, the emissary started to show signs of annoyance. When he started his attacks, he thought he would be able to overwhelm Grey with his superior strength. However, that has not been the case. Albeit it looked like he was winning, the fight was actually in a stalemate since Grey for some reason could ensure he did not sustain any injuries from his attacks.

Racking his head, the emissary feinted to throw a punch, and when Grey reacted to the punch, he changed his attack midway, swiping with his hands like a claw.

Grey used his forearms to block the swipe of the emissary’s claw attack, only not to be met with the expected force.

‘Crap!’ Grey immediately understood he had fallen for the emissary’s trick. This was not the first time the emissary had done such, but he had always blocked them in time, and the emissary only ever feints once, not twice like this time.

Bam!

A thunderous kick landed on Grey’s torso, sending him flying to the ground with immense force.

His body trailed on the ground, leaving a long pit almost three hundred meters long before he crashed hard into a rock beside a tree.

The emissary’s figure appeared right before Grey, who was still trying to get his bearings and attacked with a punch that echoed like thunder.

Bang!

The rock Grey slammed into shattered to pieces.

“Hmm…” The emissary raised his brow as he looked ahead, with no signs of Grey present. He looked around and found Grey’s figure panting heavily while holding his ribs.

“To still be able to dodge, this kid must die.” The emissary mumbled under his breath. The longer he fought with Grey, the more he became convinced that he had to kill Grey right here and now no matter the price he had to pay. He could not even take out his puppet which was his biggest ally due to Grey’s frustrating ability. Adding Grey’s tremendous physical strength, as well as his shocking elemental prowess as well, he was basically a perfect nemesis to the Gnomes.

Grey groaned in pain after distancing himself from the emissary. Taking a deep breath, he stimulated his light element to help with the healing.

The emissary made another move, drawing closer to him as he attacked.

Grey did not try to block the attack this time, he used his space element to teleport from that place, appearing some distance away. A three colored fusion orb was sent towards the emissary.

The emissary dealt with the attack easily as he continued his attacks.

Boom! Bam! Bang!

The impact from their clashes destroyed the forest floor. The only place that still remained intact was the cave where the treasure was located, neither of them wanted to destroy it, so they took the battle further and further away from this place.

Natt and the other two Gnomes exchanged glances as one of them tried to stand up and attempt to break their seal. He was met with a shocking force that pushed him to the ground. Raising his head, he saw Void waving his paw at him as if saying, ‘not on my watch.’

They completely forgot about the existence of both Void and the bunnies after Grey started his fight with the emissary. Only now did they recall that Grey still had allies, powerful ones at that.

At the thought of this, they could not help but think of what it could potentially mean for the emissary. If Grey’s allies were to assist him at a critical point in his fight with the emissary, it could be devastating to the emissary.

“He’s not here, bring out your puppets and kill these foul beasts.” One of the other Eighth stage Sovereign Gnomes suggested as he tried to take out his puppet.

The bunny leader, who was beside Void could not resist asking when he heard this, “Is he dumb or something?”

Void shrugged to indicate he did not know.

The reason for the bunny leader’s question was because the space rings of these Gnomes were the first things they took from them when they apprehended them, so it was impossible for them to bring out any puppet.

The bunny leader and Void did not finish assessing this Gnome’s mental state before a year appeared on the forehead of the Gnome and a small figure that had the shape of a human crawled out. The figure quickly grew in size before fully becoming the size of a normal man.

“They can hide puppets there too?” Void and the bunny leader were flabbergasted by this discovery. The Gnomes they had generally faced all brought out their puppets from their space rings. This was a rare case of a Gnome not keeping his puppet in his space ring.

The aura the puppet gave off was that of an Eighth stage Sovereign. Not all Gnomes or Necromancers are able to have puppets stronger than their cultivation level, only the truly powerful ones among those in the same realm can achieve this.

Void did not expect he would have to still fight, but since an opponent had presented itself, there was no way he would cower.

With a flash, his figure vanished, appearing not too far from the puppet he attacked.

The Eighth stage Sovereign puppet reacted to the attack, blocking with the earth element. A large boulder blocked Void’s lightning attack, but it was destroyed in the process.

After blocking the attack with the earth element, the puppet unleashed a series of wind blades at Void.

Void dodged the wind blades and moved closer to the puppet. The duo were soon embroiled in a back and forth tangle, with each attacking fiercely. Void was a magical beast and was used to brutal battles such as this, whereas the puppet was a dead being that felt no pain and would only stop attacking when the opponent was dead or when it had been incapacitated.

The bunny leader watched the battle at the start, but quickly lost interest in it. Void could fight most Ninth stage Sovereigns, and although he was not a freak like Grey who could battle Peak Sovereigns, he was still not to be underestimated. Besides, his cultivation was still equivalent to an Eighth stage Sovereign.

As the bunny leader looked around, he realized the Gnomes were no longer in the same location. Searching for them, he saw them sneaking towards the cave. They had actually broken the seal that was placed on them. Apparently, another one of the Gnomes also had a puppet hidden.

The bunny leader swirled his small paw and a portal appeared. Three bunnies around four meters long stepped out of the portal. Pointing at the Gnomes, the bunny leader ordered, “Go!”

Natt was the first to sense the presence of the three bunnies, when he probed their cultivation, he felt immense hate for the bunny leader. All three bunnies were Ninth stage Sovereigns.

“We need to kill this bunny too, it’s too hateful.” Natt said with hatred.

“I agree.” The two Gnomes by his side said simultaneously. They were stopped by the bunny leader’s bunnies when they tried to escape, so they naturally held a grudge against him. Even before they tried to escape, it was the bunny leader’s army that took away their numbers advantage. If the bunny leader were to appear in any battlefield unannounced, then the losses the Gnome army would suffer could be disastrous.

All three joined the puppet and attacked the approaching bunnies. Now everyone present were engaged in battle, with Grey and the emissary’s battle being further away.

The impact from all three battlefields shook the entire forest.

On Grey’s battlefield, things were even more serious as the very fabric of space was continuously being destroyed and repaired.

The emissary and Grey held nothing back as they fought each other, seemingly feeling like they had both come to the conclusion that only one of them would leave this place alive.
