“Don’t force my hand boy, don’t think I can’t kill you!” The emissary roared as he dashed through the thick trees.
Grey’s figure flashed after him, sending out a fire ball.
The emissary dodged the fire ball, but was forced to slow down due to it. Grey caught up and attacked once again.
The emissary blocked the attack, coughing up blood in the process. He looked at his condition, and tried to escape once again.
Grey did not give him that chance, blocking his path along with Void and the bunny leader.
“Boy, fine, I’ll teach you the technique you wanted.” The emissary, seeing that there was no way for him to escape his current predicament, tried to bribe Grey. When they started fighting earlier, Grey showed some interest in it at the time.
“There’s no need. I’ve already gotten the basics.” Grey replied with a smirk before attacking.
The eyes of the emissary widened in shock when he heard Grey say this. He scurried to block the attack, but was sent flying.
He slammed into a tree, shattering it in the process.
‘Damn it!’ The emissary was starting to panic. It was clear Grey had no plans of letting him leave this place alive. Looking around, his gaze landed on the bunny leader and Void. An idea popped into his head and he acted on it immediately.
He charged at Grey, and just when Grey was waiting to block the attack, the emissary changed his direction in an instant, darting towards Void and the bunny leader. A grin appeared on his face as he stretched his hand forward to try to grab the duo.
His grin froze when both Void and the bunny leader vanished right from his hands. Grey also appeared in place of Void, his fist clenched, he punched at the outstretched hand of the emissary.
A crisp sound of bones being broken sounded out from the emissary’s hand, followed by the emissary’s wail.
Grey did not stop there, he raised his fist once again, aiming to shatter the head of the emissary.
Realizing Grey wanted to kill him, the eyes of the emissary turned red and he spat out a blood arrow aimed at Grey’s head. For someone in his current cultivation stage, he could easily use his essence to make his blood as powerful as any weapon out there. Shaping the blood was also very easy and it was not a move a lot of people would expect in such close situations.
Grey, like most people in this situation, did not expect the emissary to make use of his blood as a weapon. Due to how close they were at the moment, it was harder for him to dodge the blood arrow. He tilted his head to the side as fast as he could, and the blood arrow brushed his left cheeks, leaving a long gash.
His fist still came crashing down on the head of the emissary.
The emissary hardened his head, and instead of dodging, he forcefully slammed his head into Grey’s incoming fist.
As both Grey’s fist and the emissary’s headbutt collided, both parties staggered backwards.
Grey felt like all his fingers were broken, while the emissary could barely see anything as a ringing sound echoed endlessly in his head.
The emissary’s vision also partially went blank for the split moment. When he regained his vision and saw Grey’s limp hand, he cocked his head back and burst into laughter, “Little brat, I have trained my head for thousands of years, do you think a single attack will be able to stop me?”
After saying this, the emissary lunged at Grey headfirst.
Seeing the incoming emissary, Grey hurriedly set up an earth wall to stop him. The emissary broke through the earth wall, only to be met with another one. After passing through three earth walls, he finally saw Grey.
Grey did not expect the emissary to pass through all three earth walls instantly. As he tried to retreat, the emissary grinned and a large figure appeared behind Grey.
Grey, who was in the middle of retreating, paused when he sensed a great threat to his life. He caught sight of the puppet behind him and surrounded himself with a fire tornado.
The puppet attacked with the wind element, cutting the fire tornado into two to expose Grey.
Just as it did this, it disappeared.
The emissary continued his attack after the puppet had cut open the fire tornado. Most of Grey’s attention was placed on the puppet, when he could not find it, he understood the emissary must have hurriedly kept it after using it for one attack. Turning around, he saw the emissary already only a few inches away from him.
Crack!
The emissary head-butted Grey right in his chest, and his chest immediately caved in. The clear sound of his bones breaking rang out.
Grey, along with the emissary whose head was still on his chest, crashed into the forest floor.
The emissary jumped up from the place they crashed. Looking down, he realized Grey was nowhere to be seen. Turning around, he saw Grey holding his chest as he coughed up blood repeatedly.
Grey’s eyes had turned blood red, with blood leaking from the side of his mouth. Had he not acted quickly, he would have suffered fatal injuries from this attack. Just as his body was about to hit the ground, he urged his space element, teleporting away at the last second.
The emissary did not continue his attacks, he was exhausted and needed every second he could to rest. Seeing that Grey wanted to catch his breath, he did not try to stop him.
The duo stood apart, both staring at each other from a distance before the emissary finally broke the silence, “Kid, it’s obvious we can’t kill each other. Instead of mutually destroying ourselves, why don’t we stop fighting now?”
Grey did not respond, only breathing in and out heavily. His bones were rearranging at a speed visible to the human eyes. Even the emissary could see them squirming inside Grey’s chest although they were not exposed.
A minute of silence went by, and Grey still stood in the air, his eyes locked on the emissary. Understanding he would have to show more effort, the emissary spoke up once again, “I know if my puppet is outside for too long you can cut off the connection, but I can use it for a split second, and that is enough to kill you in your current state. Just give up and let me leave.”
Grey opened his mouth to speak, but only spat out black blood, he wiped the corners of his mouth and said, “I also have a trump card I’ve not used yet. Even with your puppet, I am certain I can kill you here today.”
The veins on the head of the emissary popped out in anger at the stubbornness of Grey. He had just shown Grey that he could seriously wound the latter, yet Grey was still proving stubborn, refusing to yield.
“Since you believe you can kill me, then I’d like to see you try.”
Saying this, the emissary stopped looking and attacked. His head shone with a brilliant light as he charged at Grey.
Grey’s mask had already been destroyed during the fight, so his face was visible. Grinning from ear to ear, he laughed maniacally as he spread out his arms, “Receive my strongest attack!”
After saying this, he yelled at Void and the bunny leader who were far away, “Run!”
He bolted in another direction after saying this.
The emissary who was chasing after him instinctively paused when he heard Grey speak of his strongest attack as he tried to find out. Seeing Grey flee, he could not help but chuckle, thinking it was Grey’s way of escaping. He did not even attempt to stop him as he too, was not interested in fighting.
All of a sudden, he felt his hair stand on edge as a great threat of death washed over him.
‘What’s happening? Did he really attack?’ He wondered. Out of curiosity, he raised his head to look at the sky.
“Oh no…” The emissary’s heart sank at the sight of what he saw.
Above him, a large array could be seen in the sky, well, five arrays which were forced into one. The space around the array was in a mess as the world worked hard to try to fix the spatial tears.
Before the emissary could make a move, the array formation exploded with him being close to the center of blast.
A few kilometers away, Grey was sent flying by the impact of the explosion. He slammed into a rock, coughing up more blood.
“You’re a maniac. Why did you have to delay till that long?” Void and the bunny leader complained as they too were also affected by the impact of the blast even though they were almost six kilometers away from the place of the blast.
