Grey wobbled into a crossed-leg position as he tried to regulate his breathing. After almost a minute, he stared in the direction of the explosion and asked, “There’s no way he survives that, right?”
“Of course not!”
Void and the bunny leader blurted out simultaneously. They both saw the condition of the emissary before the blast, there was no way he would be able to survive such an attack. If he were even at his peak, he would have been left seriously wounded if he faced such a powerful attack. The explosion was something that clearly exceeded the limits of what a Peak Sovereign could unleash.
Another minute went by and Grey struggled to stand up, his legs still unstable from the impact of the attack. He was arching from head to toe and would want nothing more than to rest right now, however, he could not, at least not until confirming the emissary was dead.
“Let’s go check to see if he survived or not.”
The trio flew into the sky and headed in the direction of the explosion. When they arrived, the thing that caught their attention were the long spatial tears in the sky trying to repair itself.
“You broke the sky.” Void commented.
The bunny leader shook his head and explained, “He did not break the sky, the damage is just too strong that it’ll take a little longer than usual before the world can fix it.”
Grey did not pay attention to the sky as he knew it would eventually fix itself, he gazed at the destruction before him that covered a few kilometers. He spread out his mental sense as he tried to locate the aura of the emissary in the rubble.
Void and the bunny leader stopped speaking so Grey could focus on locating the possible remains of the emissary.
Ten minutes went by in a flash with Grey still floating in the same position with both eyes closed.
A frown appeared on Grey’s pale face, furrowing his brows he questioned, “It couldn’t be that the attack blew him to ashes, could it?”
“It’s impossible. Have you forgotten his body is really sturdy?” The bunny leader felt it was impossible for the emissary to have been blown to bits.
Grey nodded when he recalled the emissary’s freakish physical prowess. For someone with such a strong body, it was impossible that there were no remains even though the attack was that powerful.
Grey could only keep on searching. This time the bunny leader and Void joined in the search for the emissary. Another twenty minutes went by before Grey finally found an oddity.
“Hmm?”
Raising a brow, Grey flew down to the shattered forest floor, standing in the midst of broken trees and rocks, he used the wind element to push a pile of shattered rocks to the side, exposing a small opening. He signaled Void and the bunny leader to be prepared for whatever might happen as he stuck his head into the opening.
As soon as his head was about to enter the opening, he quickly withdrew his head almost like a turtle before moving to the side.
A flash of light shot out from the opening, going past where Grey’s head used to be before disappearing into the sky. The spatial cracks in the sky were all but repaired at this point.
The sound of something collapsing came out from the small opening.
Grey cautiously moved all the broken trees and rocks to expose the emissary lying under an almost completely shattered puppet. Only the upper body of the puppet remained mostly intact with it losing both legs, one of its arms, along with its head.
The emissary, who was beneath the puppet, was also missing an arm, while a part of his right leg was blown off.
The emissary was breathing weakly, giving one the feeling that he would die in any minute.
“Your… yo…” The emissary tried to speak, but only ended up coughing out blood along with some of his teeth.
Grey looked down at the emissary, pointing a finger at the latter’s head, a small ice shard appeared and drilled straight through the brows of the emissary, killing him instantly. He bent and took the storage ring on the finger of the emissary.
After doing this, he fell to the ground with a loud ‘thud’. He could no longer keep himself standing, he was fully drained.
Void and the bunny leader picked him up and disappeared from the area.

Somewhere far from the forest where the final battle took place.
A crowd of almost a hundred people could be seen gathered in an abandoned building. Every single one of them looked anxious as some of them paced back and forth.
A man who looked to be in his thirties grabbed a young man and asked, “Didn’t they say they would be sending someone to help us escape from this encirclement?”
“That was the last message I received. I’ve tried sending out more messages, but it seems they have sealed this area to intercept any form of communication.” The young man explained with a shaky voice.
“Let go of him, Kirk.” A lady who looked to be in her late twenties walked over. She wore a snow white attire, and had long black hair which was well complemented by her black eyes and slightly round face.
The lady gave off the aura of a Sixth stage Sovereign.
“Hmph.” The man referred to as Kirk tossed the young man to the side.
Another man walked out and suggested, “It’s been a few days, why don’t we send someone out to observe the situation?”
The lady dressed in white turned to the man and asked, “Are you willing to be the one?”
When the lady asked this question, the man shrunk his head back, almost wanting to hide in the crowd.
The lady said with a serious tone, “We’ve already lost a few of our strong experts because of this. Since they are leaving us alive, it means they want something. The best thing we can do now is reserve as much of our strength as we can so we can assist those who would come and help us, understand?”
“Yes, Lady Selena!” Everyone present answered in a chorus.
The lady dressed in white is known as Lady Selena, she was an expert from the Moonlight Faction, and she was also the leader of this group of scouts. Although the Moonlight Faction majored in the use of ice abilities, there were a few ice techniques that when mastered to great levels can vastly different aid in hiding one’s aura.
After coming to an agreement, all the group could do was wait patiently for their final fight.
Three days went by in the blink of an eye.
The group were still just as agitated as they were some days back. Some of them were even thinking of possible escape plans.
While most of the group were seated, a figure suddenly appeared in the abandoned building like a ghost. None of them sensed the presence of this figure since they continued with whatever they were doing.
Grey looked at the scouts who were unaware of his arrival. Clearing his throat to draw their attention, he asked, “Who’s the leader here?”
He was dressed in all black, and his face was no longer as pale as it was a few days ago. Nonetheless, it was quite easy to tell that he had been involved in a tough life and death battle not too long ago from his appearance. He was not wearing a mask as he did not want to make the scouts wary.
The question took the scouts by surprise as they could tell the owner of the voice was a stranger.
“Intruder!”
One of the men yelled and they all got to their feet, facing Grey while prepared to attack.
Grey expected their reaction, so even though he was faced with almost a hundred Elementalists who might attack at any moment’s notice, he did not panic. His indifference made the scouts feel like they were standing in the presence of a true expert.
He looked at the scouts and asked, “Which one of you is the leader? I was sent here to rescue your squad.”
Lady Selena, elegantly stepped forward and asked while bowing, “If I may ask, is your excellency Grey Dawson?”
“Oh, you recognize me?” Grey felt a sense of relief as things would be easier for him now that one of them recognized him.
“Yes, I’ve been fortunate to see you when you came to visit Klaus Ealdian.” Lady Selena explained, before adding, “I am the leader of this squad.”
“I see.” Grey stroked his chin before saying casually, “If you’re ready, we should get going.”
“But the encirclement of Gnomes?”
“They have been dealt with.”
This statement sent the entire squad into an uproar, even Lady Selena wore a weird expression on her face as she asked, “Your excellency, what did you say?”
“I said the encirclement has been dealt with.”
