Chapter 2237: Interlude Feng Yun (2)

Feng Yun followed his granduncle as a person with a weird uniform acted as a guide for them. His eyes darted around, looking around the building around him as they tracked the side of the road.

This was his first experience in the foreign world, and he was marveled by everything around him. The building was made of transparent glass, and he could see through what was inside. They were shops, and most of them were selling mundane things such as clothes, food, and more. The thing that was pretty much useless for a cultivator or even for a player.

He didn’t understand why the Tang Empire had so many of these kinds of shops. What made it even more unbelievable was that the shop had a lot of visitors. Many people were interested in those kinds of useless things.

There was also something that he admired. It was the building he came out of a few minutes ago. The tallest building was like a tower made of glass. It was like a pagoda, even taller than the Feng Family’s tower and castle. What surprised him even more was the fact that it was not just one or two, but many tall buildings aside from that one.

"We are in a civilian area. They are players, but not the type that pursue power..." Feng Zhan told the kids who looked around curiously. He could tell in a single glance that there was so little of the Epic Rank. Most of them were unranked.

The street was, and most of the area around them was covered in the dragon’s shadow. His eyes were glued to the glinting, gold scales. His chest drummed up, and the noisy crowd started to quiet down as the sound of his heart thumping reached his ears.

The dragon didn’t exert pressure on him or anything, but he could sense how dangerous that creature was. Despite its massive size, it quickly passed over the city.

"It’s safe to assume the dragon is the guardian of the empire," Feng Zhan told the children.

Feng Yun was the only one with an ugly expression, starting to realize the power of the Tang Empire. If he wanted to regain freedom, he must command the same power as the Tang Empire or stronger. He was confident that the Feng Family would be able to recover if they had the time and even surpass the Tang Empire. That conviction started to waver after the show of Kirin and Dragon.

"The Dragon’s name is Greed, and he is His Majesty’s companion, not the guardian of the empire, at least not officially."

The guide in Tarrior’s uniform corrected. While he said Greed was not the Guardian, people still revered the dragon as the Guardian. Greed rarely followed His Majesty, and Greed was often found in the Dimensional Tower, occasionally sighted in the capital.

"The Tang Empire also has a beastmen race. Don’t attack them or you will be arrested!" The Tarrior added.

The children were confused about what the beastmen were, but Feng Zhan knew them. Beastmen were not rare in the God Realm, after all.

Each pillar was engraved with a similar dragon carving, but in different poses. Above the gate was written, "Academy of Tang", and above the sign was a nine-headed dragon statue.

The imposing gate left a deep impression on the children. In addition, with the imposing guards with different uniforms stationed there, thirty guards were on duty right now.

After the Divine Tower and Zowen’s Mage Tower were built, the others followed the trend. They wanted to have their own tower. The Director of the academy, Cao Jingyi, didn’t mind having more towers as long as those towers accepted the students.
