Chapter 2256: Wise’s Ambitions

"Why?" Tang Shaoyang blurted out. He didn’t specify in his question, but the dragon understood the question.

"Because I want to use those horrors to stop those fools from exploring the south area. I can’t save them if they fall into the Void or that Shadow World, and I can’t watch them getting torn apart by the unstable space."

The Wise didn’t have an intention to fill the region with a living creature. He wanted to stop the humans and the other beasts from venturing into the region.

"Can you save them if they fall into that void or shadow?"

That was a good question. Tang Shaoyang never ventured deep into that region, and he never tried to investigate it. He was being cautious, afraid that it might damage his soul. But again, it might not harm him if he just prodded the area with his senses. He was the Absolute Ruler in this Soul Palace; his sense reached all parts in this place.

"Let me check..."

He closed his eyes and sent his senses toward the southern region. The first thing he tried to do was to check the shadow floor, where it led. Only to be surprised that beyond the shadow, like a whole new world, a world made of shadow with no light. It was just an empty, vast space made of shadow.

Afraid the other shadow floor might be different, he checked three more shadow floors only to find they were the same. It was just a space, but made of shadow. As for why it existed, he also didn’t know.

The Void was more terrifying than the shadow. It was just like an unlimited space, or maybe his senses could not really fathom the Void. Now the Wise’s question came to his mind. Could he save someone trapped in that place? He was confident to save the people trapped in the Shadow, but not the Void.

His sense was disturbed; something was messing with his perception. He recalled his senses and looked toward the fifth floating that was filled with plants of horrors.

"I may be able to save someone from the shadow floor, but we need to try it. We can try it with your horror plant."

"That’s a good idea. They are a failure anyway."

For the start, Tang Shaoyang and Wise agreed on which shadow floor to use, then Wise threw the horror plant. Tang Shaoyang kept his senses on the plant as it kept going down. His sense remained strong on the horror plant until it landed on the ground of that shadow space.

Then he moved the horror plant back to the fifth floating island. He willed it as the plant disappeared from the shadow space.

"You can save them... Now let’s try the Void..." Wise didn’t stop the experiment there. Even though the plant was his creation, the dragon didn’t hesitate to sacrifice it.

Tang Shaoyang could sense the horror plant’s presence, but it was not for too long. He lost the plan within ten seconds. In the second test, he lost the plant in thirteen seconds. In the third test, he lost the plan within five seconds.

"That’s enough. I can’t save them from the void. It’s either the void disrupting my senses, or the void gobbled them."

With a frown, he added, "I think we should seal that place for good."

"That’s what I thought. That’s why I want to put my creation as the border, so no one dares to go there." The Wise nodded in agreement, musing on his next experiment while at it.

"Can’t we just build a wall without a gate and completely cut off the road to that region?" That was a better idea than planting those horror plants. It might be effective, but the creatures themselves were horrendous.

"Based on the look, they will need meat and blood to survive..." He added in a mutter.

"That’s why I have been doing some experiments. I wish to create man-eating plants that will survive without blood and flesh."

Tang Shaoyang rolled his eyes, "Your mindset is already wrong from the start. You are creating a man-eating plant instead of an energy-eating plant."

His quip seemed to inspire the gold-dark dragon, "I see... I begin from the wrong start..."

"Can we customize the modification? Like, can we add more sea on the other side of the chaotic region?"

Tang Shaoyang was never present during the Soul Palace expansion. It was considered a breakthrough, so he could not witness the expansion or have control over it. But maybe Wise could do something about it.

"What do you have in mind?" The Wise put aside the thoughts about his experiment and listened to his Master’s desire. It would work better for him to work in harmony with his Master’s wishes.

"I am thinking of creating another civilization, but with the Sacred Realm’s culture, like cultivation, sects, and similar stuff, you know."

That was more like an experiment for Tang Shaoyang as well. Maybe it would benefit his cultivation more if the people in the Soul Palace knew how to cultivate as well.

"You don’t need to worry about it. I will do it even without your instruction. But let’s focus on what we have first, no?"

The dragon pointed at the civilization below them, the western-medieval culture, "They can protect their home and defend themselves from the beast, but their range of activity is still limited to the central region."

Tang Shaoyang didn’t interrupt. He thought these people were supposed to stay in the central region, anyway. He waited for Wise to finish, trying to hear the dragon’s idea.

"They are still incomplete! They are currently relying on their instinct. Their weapons and armors are crude, unorganized, and they easily die because they are limited by their medical knowledge. There’s still no alchemy, and I would say their growth is slower than I would like."

Tang Shaoyang listened to the dragon while checking the village and the city. The village was still using the palisade wall, and the city’s wall was a mix of stone and wood. There was no big weapon on the wall; most of the weapons were indeed crude. He even spotted that a few villages were still using stone arrows.

Not many could handle the metal yet. Some places produce iron, but it was still crude and brittle. Most of the armor was not efficient, more likely hindering the wearer, despite the protection it gave.

The Wise pointed at his head with one of his claws, "Your knowledge! Your knowledge is still lacking about those things, so I have been experimenting with what I know. I can’t create herbs that I don’t know of, and I can’t impart the smithing technique if I don’t know anything about it."

"Not just that, I want to know more about skills and talent... maybe more details about Smart Base so I can create something similar in the Soul Palace. But the most important thing is skills. I can’t exactly copy all skills, but I can give a few chosen ones enlightenment..."

Tang Shaoyang found out how ambitious his Soul Palace’s manager was today. The dragon wanted to create a world inside the Soul Palace similar to outside.

"You can rely on TEAA for the herbs and Alchemy. You don’t have to learn them, but you just need to read them once, so I can record them. Tell them to compile all those lists, including the skills. Asked the same with the dwarves, about ore, metal, and their techniques, everything. Tell them to compile it into a book, and you just need to read it!"
