Chapter 2289: The Quiet and Murderous Avyn

Tang Shaoyang’s eyes brightened, as that was one of his goals in coming here. He didn’t say it to his spirits or Li Shuang, but yes, he tried to find a clue to reach Avyn’s world.

But then a realization struck him. How did Orve know Avyn’s situation? Did that mean Orve knew all along that Avyn was living in that isolated world? In that case, Orve could visit that place himself if he truly wanted to talk with Avyn.

However, the way they spoke to him, they only wanted to talk with Avyn, not him. It was as if it was just a courtesy inviting him to talk while Avyn was the main subject. But that was not the case. If he knew where Avyn was, Orve could just visit Avyn. That meant Orve wanted to talk with him.

Another possibility was that Orve was afraid of Avyn. It could be said the frozen world was Avyn’s domain. She might have the upper hand in that world. That was why Orve didn’t visit Avyn directly.

Tang Shaoyang tried to read Orve’s intention even with Absolute Sense. He could not feel the malice or negative intention toward him. It worked on Zonaras and Nirdarth. Their murderous intent could not be masked from him even if they wanted, yet he felt nothing from Orve. Not even a shred of positive intention, just neutral.

"You still seem to doubt me. I understand your suspicion, so I will tell you a piece of secret about the Dragon Realm that not many know of. I hope to gain your trust to hold a talk with you and her."

The other Dragon Guardians’ expressions changed, but none of them tried to stop Orve. They held an absolute obedience toward Orve, something that Tang Shaoyang didn’t expect from the dragons.

"The whole Dragon Realm is my domain. I can feel everything that happens in this place. I know your arrival right after your name is on the list to use the teleportation. If I want you dead, I will set up an ambush here, but we never planned to kill you. What does my domain do? Generally, it makes all dragons here stronger, whether their attributes, their elemental power, skills, or everything. That’s the reason why no fool succeeded in taking over my land, and no one ever tried it again."

Tang Shaoyang chuckled upon hearing the secret. Orve was telling him this "secret" not to gain his trust, but as a threat. Orve basically told him that all dragons are stronger, indirectly telling him not to do anything stupid, let alone fight them here. That secret was a warning to him.

"I am a dragon, and she’s a dragon. That means your domain makes me stronger too. I guess that explains why your underling can’t subdue me."

That response gained a reaction from Zonaras, "Don’t think you are one of us just because you have that accursed dragon bloodline. The reason you are still alive is that we are asked to bring you alive, you foolish human. Or else you will be dead frozen by now!"

Tang Shaoyang chuckled and grinned widely, "It means you are not strong enough to freeze me without killing me."

"That’s enough for both of you!" Orve raised his voice slightly. That was enough to silence Zonaras. The hierarchy was very clear in this situation. Orve had absolute authority over the other dragons, including the Dragon Guardians. That was considered surprising, as the dragon was a prideful creature.

"I understand you don’t trust me, but as I said. We can hold the talk here, right now if you are afraid of a trap or scheme."

Tang Shaoyang turned toward Avyn, who maintained her calm demeanor even though she might be in the face of the enemy who killed her family. Again, it was still unclear if the Dragon Realm contributed to the fall of the Kankara’Xeo. The clear thing was that whoever was behind that, they used the Nirvana Alliance as their sword.

"So... What do you want to do? Apparently we are allowed to leave if we don’t want to talk."

He could make the decision himself, but he wanted to respect her decision. He had achieved his goal, finding a clue to find where Avyn was. It was not like he needed to get her out right now. The clue was here, and he could return here anytime if he wanted to.

"Right, Orve? I can leave whenever I want to."

Orve let out a sigh. "Please stop provoking my people. I know you are trying to provoke my people to fight you. I don’t know why you want to fight them, but I will not allow it to happen while I am here."

"And yes, you can leave if you don’t want to talk with me. I am not going to force you. However, I will tell you that I am the only one who knows where she is and how to get her out. You will come to see me later if you truly want to free her. So it doesn’t matter if we talk now or later."

While Tang Shaoyang didn’t say any insult or provocation, his tone was the way he spoke. It was too obvious to Orve and the others. If not for Orve, Zonaras and Nirdarth would take the bait.

Avyn looked at Orve; their gazes met in the air. It was very hard for Tang Shaoyang to read what was in Orve’s mind. He could not even read what was in Avyn’s mind with their contracted spirit bond.

"I don’t really want to talk with him, and I detested this place..." That was a surprise coming from Avyn. That caused a reaction from the Dragon Guardians. They were upset that Avyn dared to say that she detested this place.

No one said anything because Orve raised his hand, stopping them from responding.

"I can’t really explain it in front of them, but I can tell you that I want to murder them all, destroying this place even."
