Tang Shaoyang admitted that he might take this lightly. Still, again, he hadn’t really experienced the horror of the primal being. The closest one was Zonaras. Apparently, he was one of the Primal Dragons, and he was not really impressed by Zonaras and Nirdarth. He couldn’t be blamed for taking this name lightly. He shrugged, "There are the weak and the strong among the God Ranks. That might be the case for Primal too, no?"
That left Vandir speechless, especially how accurate Tang Shaoyang’s judgment was. There was indeed a weak primal and a strong primal. But the weak primal was still a revered being.
"That’s for them to prove if they are truly fearful, as you said, Vandir. Who’s next?"
"Bronson!" Vandir was the one who answered this time, him alone. It seemed like Bronson was his choice instead of their collective choice. If that was the case, there might be Zara, Avyn, and Karan’s choice too later.
Bronson the Demonic Slayer was one of the earliest spirits. He was not a strong spirit, maybe Grade B or Grade A Spirit, not even a Grade S Spirit. And his title was initially the Knight Slayer.
An undead who had deep grudges against the knights who killed his family. That was Bronson, and he had advanced to Demonic Slayer.
Tang Shaoyang summoned Bronson and checked the materials.
Bronson was wearing full black armor; his face down to his toes was covered in armor. He was holding a war scythe in both hands. However, the shaft was thicker and shorter, while the scythe was bigger, thicker, and longer than an ordinary war scythe. Those weapons evolved along with it, part of Bronson as a spirit.
The spirit was ready, and to his surprise, he seemed to have enough materials for the next advancement. He had gathered nine floors of storage worth of corpses so far. He estimated that might be enough for ten advancements to the Pinnacle-Rank Archaic Spirit.
He had taken out two storages worth of materials. Doombringer took half of the first Storage, which left one and a half storage worth of sacrifices. Surprisingly, Aerelion’s advancement took less than a third of that one and a half storage sacrifice, meaning it took fewer sacrifices for Aerelion’s advancement.
It could be that Aerelion was using the high-grade Calamity while Doombringer was using more of the lower-grade Calamities. That was just his speculation since he couldn’t be sure because he didn’t know which ones were the high-grade ones.
Tang Shaoyang put aside the thought, directing his right hand toward Bronson and his left hand toward the materials. He then activated the skills.
Similar process but a different type of energy. Bronson was quickly covered in a cocoon. His cocoon was dark red, and it didn’t cause a big phenomenon like Aerelion or Doombringer. However, that dark-red cocoon was releasing a sinister aura, an aura filled with killing intent.
The energy pulsed on the surface of the cocoon, and the aura was getting stronger and stronger. He sensed familiarity within the aura, something that he had sensed before, yet he could not recall. He tried to recall where he encountered such a familiar aura, but nothing came to mind.
Then he sensed an excitement from Vandir. He turned toward the skeleton. Vandir was staring at the dark-red cocoon intensely, mixed with anticipation. It seemed like Vandir had a guess at what Bronson would become.
"This is similar to your aura..."
He heard Zara muttering. He was confused at first because this was nothing like his aura. That was until she added something more specific.
"Not your current aura, but the Slayer Aura. The one you got from Slayer Class."
That instantly clicked in Tang Shaoyang’s head. He finally understood why it felt so familiar. He remembered how he had many auras and different energies back then. One of them was the Slayer Aura that used to suppress his enemies with his killing intent. He rarely used the aura, though, since he preferred to take action and kill his enemy instead.
The cocoon burst forth as the Slayer Aura thickened, filling the area. He made the best decision to proceed with the advancement here instead of doing it back at home.
This aura alone would make a lot of people pass out. Doombringer’s phenomenon would cause a panic, and Aerelion’s effect would burn the city.
[Bronson the High-Rank Archaic Spirit has advanced to the Pinnacle-Rank Archaic Spirit!]
[Bronson receives a new title, Bronson the Slayer of Helleion!]
Bronson stepped out of the red mist. His armor was no longer black. It became closer to his aura color, dark red. Then the weapon also changed in size and color. It became slightly bigger, and its color was blood-red instead of black.
That was it; Bronson didn’t undergo that much change. His aura certainly changed, but in terms of appearance, that was it. Just the color of his armor, and there was an emblem on the chest part. The emblem was the picture of a head with two horns on the forehead. There were not many details on it.
"So, do you know something about the Slayer of Helleion?" His question was meant for Zara and Vandir, but it was loud enough for Bronson to hear. Just like Aerelion, Bronson might be shown something during the advancement.
"I don’t know about the Slayer of Helleion, but I have heard about Helleion," Vandir answered, and that gained a reaction from Bronson.
"Helleion is a city, an infamous city that produced a lot of crazed murderers. They are like a faction, but they are also not a faction. There’s no hierarchy; they are also divided. They are killing each other, yet they will unite if the city is under a threat. The individual who left the city either died within a short time, or they became an infamous murderer."
"But you don’t hear anything about the Slayer?" It was weird that Vandir knew such details, yet he didn’t know about the Slayer.
Vandir shrugged, "The book I read didn’t mention anything about the Slayer. It’s a half-burnt book, and I don’t even know where that city is. I am also curious and want to go there. They have a lot of materials for me to work on, without a doubt, but I never found the city until I died."
