Tang Shaoyang watched the magnificent phenomenon created by Maldros’s advancement. The sky was darkened, covering a wide area. It was dark within the Chaos Eyes’ range, which was up to five kilometers. This time he didn’t receive messages from his people. That might be because it didn’t reach their place, or maybe they just assumed it was his spirit’s doing again.
The Blue and yellow lightning flashed, followed by roaring thunder. The lightning and thunder flashed more frequently as the advancement reached the last ten minutes.
Maldros lived up to his name, the Stormbringer. He found out that Maldros was Avyn’s pick, not Zara. As Vandir said earlier, she was hesitating to push her pick. That was why she pushed Avyn’s pick first: Maldros.
Avyn had her own reason for choosing Maldros. It was quite funny and ridiculous. That is because she wanted Maldros to be his butler, a proper and reliable butler.
She was not forcing it on Maldros because Maldros himself acted like a butler without anyone telling him to. He had the attire of that butler even though he was a Dragonkin. It was weird how he was not as prideful as the other Dragonkin.
The multicolored lightning of blue, yellow, black, and red struck the cocoon where Maldros was. The blinding light exploded as the cocoon broke apart.
Maldros stepped out, walking with the grace of a butler, and yes, he was wearing the butler outfit. The lightning traversed through his black scales. He walked toward Tang Shaoyang and bowed his head.
"Thank you for the opportunity, Your Majesty. My loyalty, service, and fist are yours. I will serve you with my utmost and will not disgrace your name."
[Maldros the High-Rank Archaic Spirit has advanced to the Pinnacle-Rank Archaic Spirit!]
[Maldros receives a new title, Maldros the Harbinger of Tempest!]
Tang Shaoyang nodded and received the vow. At this point, Tang Shaoyang had passed the point of being embarrassed by the overly formal greeting, "Raise your head!"
"Harbinger of Tempest?" He muttered Maldros’s new title. "Do you guys know something about this Tempest? Is it an entity or a world?"
"It’s a temple," Maldros answered before the other could think or answer him. "To be more exact, it’s a wandering temple named Tempest. As its name implies, the temple doesn’t stay in one place. It’s traveling between worlds and realms. I can feel a faint connection between me and the temple."
"What kind of place is this, Tempest? Did it show in your vision?" Vandir immediately asked.
Maldros frowned, trying to picture what he saw in his vision. "I don’t really know much. It’s like a floating fortress with dozens of pavilions. Each pavilion is covered in lightning, so I can’t really see what’s inside."
Vandir’s orbs in his sockets flickered intensely, showing his intense curiosity about this new place. Clearly, he had never heard of this place before.
"Congratulations!" Avyn approached Maldros, tapping his shoulder twice. They exchanged eye contact for a moment, and it was more than contact as Maldros nodded twice toward Avyn.
"You are the seventh... No, that will make it eleven now. You are the eleventh of Pinnacle-Rank Archaic Spirit!"
Avyn turned around, smiling. She seemed to expect a small celebration, but no one celebrated with her.
"We don’t celebrate, Avyn. We let them return to the Spirit world to adjust to their newly gained power. There’s no celebration." Vandir’s orbs rolled several times in his socket.
Avyn shrugged. "That’s a good idea too. The quicker they adjust to their new power, the better."
"Then I will take my leave, Your Majesty." Maldros bowed his head once more before returning to the Spirit World.
That was the seventh advancement, and he still had at least enough materials for two or three more advancements, or maybe more. He could use five Spirit Advancements with three storages worth of material.
He was about to tell Zara to get more material as a safety measure, but she had already acted before she could ask her to. Another massive pile of Calamity’s corpses appeared on top of the previous one.
"Have you decided?" Tang Shaoyang asked her.
"It’s Doru," Zara answered.
Doru, the Golem King, was an unexpected answer from her. He didn’t expect her to be so close with Doru that she would be hesitant. But he thought about it; Doru was a bit childish, or maybe he was a child even though his title was Golem King.
He summoned Doru. The towering fifteen-meter-tall golem made of black stone appeared. He thought that black stone was obsidian, but it was not. It was harder than most metal, and it was magic-resistant as well.
The towering golem squatted and looked at Zara. "Zara doesn’t need to worry. It’s Doru’s decision regardless of what Doru will become. Doru wants to be useful for the Master and wants to protect the Master’s family from his enemies. Doru wants to be stronger so Doru can protect Zara too."
"Silly you. I don’t need your protection. Just make sure you don’t get yourself killed by meddling in your Master’s affair," Zara smiled fondly.
Tang Shaoyang didn’t really expect to see Zara’s side like this. She acted like she was playing with her daughters, but that was not the case. She never acted this way to anyone else. Avyn was quite affectionate toward the twins or anything that related to Dragon, but not Zara.
But then again, Doru was a kind and gentle spirit despite having destructive power. He was a pure soul who was loved by most, with Vandir and Doombringer being an exception.
He proceeded with the Spirit Advancement after the two had a short exchange. The required materials disappeared as the Golem was covered in a cocoon. Interestingly, Doru’s cocoon was made of elemental power. Not just one or two, but several elemental powers. It kept changing from fire, magma, water, ice, wind, and so on.
Tang Shaoyang could guess what Doru would become, so did the others. It was so obvious based on that cocoon. However, there was no crazy phenomenon like Doombringer’s advancement or Maldros’s advancement. But that cocoon alone went crazy.
