Volume 4 Chapter 9: A Cain Onslaught

This chapter is updated by NovelFree.ml

Calming down the shocked Tamanis, Cain had him stand up from the floor and sit down next to him.

“Tamanis-san, I’ll search for her with all my power. So… please, wait. I’ll definitely find her.”

While Cain told him to relax a little, he gripped his fist tightly. It was a sign that he was determined to find her no matter what.

“Lil, thank you. For coming to me for help. Leave the rest to me.”

“Cain, can’t I help too…?”

Suggested Liltana, as the one kidnapped was Palma, and she wanted to help Cain, but Cain just shook his head.

“Lil, I appreciate it, but no. Thanks for asking though. Anyway, I’ll have to…”

Having guessed that Cain wanted her to go home, Liltana looked at Nigeet, who then went to prepare the carriage.

“Cain, if anything happens, please let me help too.”

Said Liltana insistently, to which Cain nodded, smiling.

“Liltana-sama, the carriage is ready.”

“Got it. Cain, thank you for the food. Please tell me the recipe for ‘hamburger steaks’ the next time.”

“Yeah, okay. I’ll have it prepared.”

Telling Tamanis to wait in the room, Cain left the mansion to see Liltana off.

“Well, see you tomorrow at school.”

“Yeah, good night, and thanks for today.”

Liltana said goodbye, sticking her head out of the small window of the carriage, after which Nigeet gave a signal and the carriage drove off.

Having seen her off, Cain returned to his mansion, where he went not to the room Tamanis was waiting in, but to his own office.

[Summon: Darmeshia]

He chanted the summoning magic, and a magic formation appeared, out of which came Darmeshia.

“Cain-sama, is something the matter?”

“Darmeshia, sorry, but I have a request to ask from you. One of my acquaintances was kidnapped. She’s definitely somewhere in the royal capital. Could you please search for her?”

Seeing Cain’s serious expression, Darmeshia also became serious, and started thinking, holding his chin in one hand.

“I might be able to search for her, but if I don’t even know what she looks like…”

Obviously, even Darmeshia couldn’t find and recognize someone he didn’t know at all.

“Is having seen her face enough? Because if so…”

Cain created an image of Palma in his mind and gathered magical power in one hand, which he then released at Darmeshia.

While a little surprised at the sudden image in his mind, Darmeshia nodded, smiling.

“My word… you can even do things like this… as expected of Cain-sama. Understood. I’ll search for her then.”

Cain continued speaking to the now satisfied, smiling Darmeshia.

“How long till you find her?”

“If she’s in the royal capital, I’ll be able to find her today. If I use my powers…”

Previously, Cain had stopped Darmeshia from using his powers in front of him. Normal people couldn’t really mentally endure the insect master Darmeshia’s power.

Smiling bitterly, Cain said ‘Please do,’ and returned back downstairs to Tamanis.

In the reception room, Silvia was comforting a frustrated Tamanis.

“Tamanis-san, if Cain-sama goes all-out, he’ll definitely be able to save Palma-san, and she’ll be unharmed. So, we can but wait.”

“Yes… But, while we do, Palma…”

Cain entered the room, at which Tamanis stood up from his seat and bowed deeply.

“Cain-sama, please help.”

Hearing that, Cain nodded, then told Tamanis to sit down.

“I’ve arranged for Palma to be searched for. She’ll be found by the end of the day.”

“What, today!?”

“Yep, I’ll go save her today.”

Tamanis, unable to believe Cain’s shocking words, was surprised.

“Cain-sama, just what…”

He always had unexpected suggestions, and the products he came up with were also always works of art one would think were not of that world. Tamanis thought thus of Cain, and had a huge amount of respect for him.

Thanks to Cain, the Sarakhan company had become one of the leading companies in the royal capital, with a monopoly on glasswork within the kingdom, and reversi being exported even to other nations.

Tamanis understood that the company had become so dependent on Cain it could even be called the ‘Silford Company’. However, Tamanis, who cherished long-standing associations with each other, continued to peddle his wares from village to village. The company’s origin was the sale of miscellaneous goods for daily life, after all.

Cain told Tamanis to go home and wait there, then went to his own room, and, taking off his noble’s clothes, he put on his adventurer’s outfit.

With his sword hanging from his waist, he had finished battle preparations.

Two hours later––

“Cain-sama, I found her. She’s being held underground at a certain company. She’s currently being watched by three people.”

Said Darmeshia, suddenly appearing in the room, to which Cain nodded, satisfied.

However, Darmeshia’s expression hardened as he continued to explain.

“Well, the truth is… there is a company there… But a carriage drove up there earlier… and a girl got out and started yelling at them––”

Hearing that, Cain laughed bitterly, not even having to think about who that yelling girl might have been.

“Show me where it is at once! If something happens, the Kingdom’s in deep trouble!”

“Understood. I’ll Transfer us nearby.”

Cain and Darmeshia Transferred, disappearing from the mansion.

““………””

Just that, Cain had not been alone in the room.

Koran and Silvia had also been there.

“Hey, Silvia… Darmeshia-san, who’s supposed to be in Drintor, just appeared out of thin air all of a sudden, and then disappeared with Cain-sama, right…? Or, am I just, going crazy?”

Silvia smiled at the unable-to-comprehend-what-had-just-happened Koran.

“Well, Cain-sama is special. Something’s most likely happening right now. Don’t pay it too much attention though.”

Silvia placed a cup of newly-brewed tea in front of Koran.

“…right you are. If I worry about it now, I’ll never see the end of it…”

Koran sighed, picking up the cup and sipping the tea.

“So it was here…”

A three-story, stone building was in front of Cain.

The building had a flashy outer appearance that really brought the image of a newly rich person to mind.

Spotting a sign with ‘The Narnis Company’ written on it, Cain thought ‘I knew it’ to himself, and laid his hand on the door.

He tried to open the double doors leading inside, but it turned out they were locked.

Cain didn’t really seem to care though, and, pouring magical power into his arms, he broke the hinges with a cracking sound, letting the doors fall down.

Swoooooosh

The doors fell inwards, and, as Cain entered the building––

Inside were Liltana, who was being restrained, Nigeet, both his hands in the air, in the pose of surrender, and men with drawn swords, all of whom were making stunned expressions.
