Arriving at the Cat’s Harmony Pavilion, Cain’s party split up and went to their rooms.
Cain asked Enaku to take care of the other four, then left the inn.
He then entered an alley, and, making sure no-one saw him, he Transferred to his mansion.
He had a short meeting with Darmeshia, then left the mansion.
Then, he went back to the inn Leline was staying at.
He asked an employee to tell Leline he was there, and she and a knight escort arrived downstairs not long after.
Leline had changed out of her travelling clothes, and now seemed ready as could be.
Wearing such a beautiful dress, she seemed so noble-like that even Cain unintentionally exclaimed.
“Cain-sama, I’m terribly sorry for having to make you escort me even here. This town is unfamiliar, so…”
“No, no, not at all, this much is no big deal. Anyway… you’re really pretty.”
At Cain’s words, the escorting knight frowned.
“––You adventurer, you’re being disrespectful to Leline-sama.”

Cain smiled bitterly at the two knights’ conversation as they moved along on horseback.
They arrived at the lord’s residence not long after, where two guards were standing stiffly upright on either side of the gate.
Then, noticing that a carriage was nearing the mansion, one of them ran off into the building.
The knights called out to the remaining guard.
“Leline-sama, the daughter of Count Legant of the town of Misinga is here. She has an appointment with the lord-sama. Which is why we’re here.”
“The family of Count Legant, was it. I’ve heard about that. Please do enter.”
“Then, excuse us.”
The knights passed through the gate first, followed by the carriage.
As the carriage passed through the gate, the eyes of the guard and Cain, who was sitting in the coachman’s seat, met.
“?! Eh!?”
Cain lightly lifted a finger to his lips, smiling, trying to tell the guard it was a secret. The guard, even while his mouth was hanging open in surprise, quickly nodded.
The carriage then arrived in front of the mansion.
Darmeshia and a number of maids had already lined up in front of the mansion.
The knights got off their horses, opened the carriage doors, from where Leline gracefully disembarked.
Darmeshia spoke on behalf of Cain.
“Leline-sama, thank you for coming all this way. Count Silford will be ready in a bit, so please, let me show you inside.”
He gave a graceful bow, and the maids did the same.
“I’m terribly sorry for the sudden visit. Thank you for having me.”
Cain too, had already gotten down from the coachman’s seat and was now standing next to them, and he nodded, satisfied with Darmeshia’s conduct.
“You please wait here. We’re up from here on out.”

The knights told Cain to wait there with the carriage.
Darmeshia glanced at Cain, then guided Leline and the two knights into the mansion.
Once they had left from sight, Cain went round to the back entrance and Transferred to his office.
His formal wear was already in the office, so all he had to do was put it on.
As soon as he was done, there was a knock on the door.

There was a knock on the door of the reception room Leline and the two knights were waiting in.

Then, the door opened, Darmeshia entered, and behind him, in a new set of clothes –– was Cain.
The two guards were stunned, as the person who had entered was all too familiar to them.

Leline’s eyes also widened a little, but then she smiled and stood up.
Cain nodded, smiling, then gestured for Leline to sit down.
“I’m Cain von Silford Drintor. Good job on the long journey.”
“Once again… I am Leline von Legant. Thank you for responding to such a sudden visit.”
“No, not at all, I’m terribly sorry for having half-fooled you. Although, –– Leline-dono, you partly did know, didn’t you?”
At that, Leline smiled.
“Yes… I heard about you from my dad. You had silver hair and a different atmosphere about you to normal adventurers, and hearing your name, I was thinking that was the case.”
As the two of them talked, the two knights behind Leline broke out in cold sweats. The kid who was supposed to have been an escort alongside them for the two days from the royal capital to Drintor was actually the lord.
