Chapter 1316 Ancient Golems Gathering

Having come to the decision to go back in the same direction she had essentially come from and make her way back into the deeper regions of the ancient city despite the danger involved in doing so, Mui made sure to keep an eye on her surroundings. Keeping an eye out for any fog that might be approaching her, as she understood that fog appearing was a bad thing and a sign that the golems wandering the ancient ruins were getting closer.

Outside of just watching out for the ancient golems that wandered around the ancient city, she also kept an eye out for any of the demon beasts that had managed to stay alive up to this point in time.

The reason for doing this was not because of some kind of practical reason, but more so because she found it enjoyable to spend time with the different demon beasts wandering around the ancient city similarly looking for a way out of the place like she was.

Of course, similar to how she had discovered the existence of the golems wandering through the ancient city ruins, the demon beasts that still remained alive at this point in time also seemed to have noticed their existence, or, at the very least realized the danger of the fog that surrounded the ancient golems.

No matter what, Mui still ran into quite a few demon beasts on her way back through the ancient city. Making her wonder just how many demon beasts had come with her to the ancient city in the first place.

At the very least, she was certain that there should at least have been a thousand or so at them chasing her back then and a majority of them had followed after her into the ancient ruin complex that latter teleported her and the demon beasts chasing after her to the ancient city that the ancient ruin complex was only a small part of.

Lost in her own thoughts as she continued moving deeper into the ancient city while avoiding any ancient golems that came too close, Mui soon found herself back at the ancient complex of ruins that had originally taken her and the demon beasts following after her to the ancient city that she now found herself stuck inside of.

Whoosh~

Feeling a light breeze at that moment followed by a thin fog covering her that slowly began growing denser, Mui didn't waste any time looking at the ancient complex of ruins as she quickly moved into the closest ruin she could find before making herself as small as possible.

Having already encountered similar situations several times on her way back into the deeper parts of the ancient city, Mui was fully aware of how to deal with a situation where the fog rapidly grew denser around her. Knowing that, trying to escape in such a situation would only result in the golem currently rushing in her direction immediately noticing her.

As for how she learnt about it… She had a rather dumb demon beast she encountered along the way to thank for that.

At the very least, its sacrifice had allowed her to escape several dangerous situations that should have normally forced her into a situation where she would have to use one of the talismans that her master had left for her.

Thump~!

Not even a few seconds after she had hidden away inside the ruins of the ancient ruin complex, the sound of something large moving just outside the ruin she was now hidden inside of echoed out. Followed by Mui seeing what looked like a golem in the shape of a giant turtle appearing outside the ruin she was hidden inside of through a small crack next to the place she was hiding.

Although it didn't look like the golem noticed her through the small crack, Mui still couldn't help silently cursing to herself as she had not intended to lay right next to a crack that could potentially expose her to the golem outside.

Thump!

Not caring about her thoughts, the turtle golem didn't waste much time after it appeared in Mui's view, as it continued moving deeper into the complex of ruins without stopping close to where she was hiding like the wolf golem had done in the past.

However, even though the turtle golem soon made its way past her without spotting her, Mui didn't feel the slightest bit safe, as a second golem soon appeared behind the turtle golem. Similarly moving into the complex of ruins.

Rustle~

Feeling the presence of even more golems appearing behind the second golem, Mui could not help feeling a shiver run down her spine as she did her best to try and move away from the crack in the wall.

After all, even if the first two golems didn't seem to have noticed her, she could never be certain about whether or not any of the other golems following behind them would discover her.

As for why so many golems had suddenly appeared inside the ancient ruin complex just when she happened to pass through it… Mui didn't have the time to think about this, as she was far too busy praying that the golems wouldn't notice her…

Thump~ Thump~ Thump~

Managing to move away from the crack in the wall she had been leaning up against and making her body as small as possible, Mui remained completely silent for the next half hour, as she just listened to the golems moving past her outside of the ruin she was hiding in. Hoping that none of them would notice her, while at the same time keeping one of her master's talismans ready just in case.

ROOOOAR!

As the final golem moved past her and no more golems seemed to show up after another half hour flew by, Mui was about to emerge from her hiding spot, when a loud bestial roar suddenly echoed out from the direction that the large number of golems had disappeared in.

Even if it was only for a short moment, Mui was certain that the roar should belong to the same demon beast she had heard when she had first found herself in the ancient city ruins together with the demon beasts that had been chasing her.

Having first thought that this demon beast had been the only one chasing after her inside the ancient ruins, Mui had paid attention to the fact that she had often sensed this demon beast locked in battle with what she believed to be the demon beasts that had chased her and similarly ended up inside the ancient city.

However, now that she knew about the existence of the ancient golems that roamed throughout the ancient city, she guessed that the powerful demon beast shouldn't have been fighting other demon beasts but should have instead been fighting off the ancient golems roaming the ancient city.

Not just that but given the large number of golems she had just witnessed going in the direction that the roar had come from, it didn't take long for Mui to realize that the large number of golems were gathering together to deal with the powerful demon beast.

Ignoring the terrifying battle that she could feel breaking out not too far away from her current location, Mui suddenly realized that she had a great opportunity to go deeper into the ancient city now that it seemed like most of the golems that normally wandered around the part of the ancient city that she was currently inside of had all moved together to deal with the powerful demon beast.

Although she had no idea if the powerful demon beast could win or how long it might last, Mui didn't waste any time after realizing just how precious her current opportunity was, as she jumped out of her hiding spot before making her way deeper into the ancient city. Hoping to use the opportunity to find another ancient teleportation formation, one that would take her out of the ancient city and move her to somewhere safer.

"Hm?"

Just as she made her way out of the ancient ruin complex and began to move deeper into the ancient city like she had planned on doing, Mui froze for a brief moment as she suddenly spotted a familiar figure appearing among the ruins not too far away from her.

Fluffy wolf!

Feeling somewhat surprised upon seeing the fluffy wolf she had thought to be dead after seeing it go back into the deeper parts of the ancient city ruins, Mui froze for a short moment before noticing that outside of the fluffy wolf, there was also a dozen or so other demon beasts slowly emerging before starting to similarly move deeper into the ancient city.

RUMBLE-!

About to continue deeper inside the ancient city again after seeing the demon beasts with similar ideas doing the same, Mui was somewhat shaken as the ground beneath her feet began violently trembling all of a sudden-

BANG!

Followed by one of the golems, she had only seen through small cracks while remaining hidden. Landing directly in front of her.
