Dominion: An Ebb & Flow Story (Web Novel) - Chapter Update (Volume Three Release Date and Title)

Chapter Update (Volume Three Release Date and Title)

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Hello everyone, it's been a while, but the wait for Volume Three is almost over. I had a wonderful break, and it was very necessary. I was able to get around to watching a ton of shows I've been wanting to (Frieren, The Bear, Trigger, and Moving), start reading some great stories (the archmage trend is fun), and even develop a new hobby (Building Gunpla).

Volume Three will start on January 19th and will post twice a week on Monday and Thursday. It will be called Love, and it will follow the naming trend of the first two. I imagine some people will NOT like this Title for the volume, but it is very relevant to the story it will tell. I have Volume Three's story mapped out pretty well, and I'm confident people will enjoy it A LOT. I'm still plugging away at writing it as we speak. A lot of things that people have predicted/wanted will happen in this one. What to expect (NO SPOILERS):

-Miles rising fame as he becomes a true Hero

-Aubrey's descent into rage and revenge

-Kai's debut

-Rorschach's debut

-Tuesday's debut >:D (It's fucked.)

-The ramifications of the Crowned Princes' Province's ability to make true on their goals

-New power combinations

-A new member joining the team

-A triple date from hell

-A timeskip

-Both Momentus Inc and the criminal organization will grow.

-And More

The feedback survey for Volume Two was enlighening and I'm very glad I did it. Getting direct and specific feedback is so incredibly helpful. I'd like to talk about a few of the major takeaways/fun facts from the survey.

First, when it comes to Reader Interactivity, the responses were mixed, but the majority of people didn't want anymore interactivity than I've done. There were three options that people were interested in for interactivity: Q&A, a contest to design a Cape/Cowl for the story, and getting to vote on potential character powers. For those who are afraid of readers affecting the story's plot, you don't have to worry about that. I am not budging on the story I want to tell, and I won't change any of that, no matter what. The ending has been planned since the very beginning, and I've known since day one that a LOT of people are not going to like it. But I wrote this story for me, because I wanted to read a story like this, and I won't compromise on my vision.

The Q&A was a lot of fun to do and does not have any effect on the story, so I will be doing those again. Regarding a contest to design a Cape/Cowl and vote on potential character powers, I will be doing it, but only for non-main characters/Nobody's victims. I'll be very honest with all of you, I have a list of powers that I add to whenever I get an idea, and when I'm adding a character, their power is very rarely decided ahead of time. Their personality/role in the story is decided ahead of time, but this story is a Thriller/Psychological story before it is a superpowered story. If you have trusted me so far, trust me when I say that I will never change the road we're on because of opinions.

It seems like people really liked certain Interludes (Six, Mother), while others weren't so well-received. I know that Odd Jobs is universally everyone's least favorite Interlude. Even the people who liked the interludes thought that they were too frequent and that they were unhappy that certain Interludes hadn't wrapped up during Volume Two. I agree that they could've been used more sparingly and that having interlude stories not finishing in the Volume they started is very unsatisfying. So Volume Three will have fewer interludes, and no matter what, the volume won't finish without the interlude's story finishing. Regarding Odd Jobs and Choices, they will both be finished soon because there is nothing worse than a cliffhanger.

Back to the fun fact feedback. I asked what people's favorite powers were, and I was really surprised by people's answers. Six, Tuesday, Miles, and Mr. Kim had the most submissions, not including Eryk, obviously. Some other cool favorites that were one-offs were the Wayward Wanderer's power, Phoenix's, Rika/Vixen's, Bystander, and Hocus Pocus's. Very cool spread in my opinion.

It seems like readers are hungry to see more of the BNA/Heroes' Union inner workings, and I'm happy to hear it. There are a couple of storylines planned that follow them that I think people will really like. I also asked about what types of story features people wanted to see more of, and every single answer got several votes.

I also asked everyone who their favorite member of Nobody's gang is, not including Nobody. The breakdown was as follows:

1st place with 36.1% of the votes is Isaiah.

2nd place with 19.4% of the votes is Tuesday.

3rd/4th place was a tie between Vivienne and Miles, who each got 13.9% of the votes.

5th place with 11.1% of the votes was Kai

And 6th place with 5.6% of the votes was Rorschach.

Isaiah being number one isn't too big of a surprise; his powers are sick as hell, and he's cool as shit. Tuesday taking 2nd did surprise me a bit tbh, I thought she would've fallen a bit. Vivienne being tied at 3rd/4th is crazy; she's the best character. Really interesting to see Miles get so much love from Volume Two. Rorschach and Kai being last does bum me out because I love them both, but I understand it.

Some people voted yes for Eryk to have a redemption arc. I want to be explicity clear, that is never coming. Eryk is going to be a monster til the very end, baby.

The Technologica mission ended up being the most divisive. Across the survey, royalroad, and patreon, people came away with all sorts of reactions. Some people didn't like that Eryk was cut off from the main crew because they liked all of them. A lot of people don't like Technologica and thought that the arc was a random interruption in the middle of a great arc. That was on purpose, and Eryk shares your feelings about her and the mission. Some people loved that he was backed into a corner and had to use his wits again, like Volume One, and some people just liked the mission as a whole. The one thing that everyone agrees on, whether they hate the arc or love it, is that Emma is a fantastic addition to the cast. You guys love that crazy girl.

The favorite arc of Volume Two was easily The Merchants. You guys LOVE Mr. Kim and don't worry, he'll be returning.

Last thing I want to say is that I know that this Volume probably won't end up being anyone's favorite by the time the story is finished.

Personally, I think that the order will end up being:

1st. Volume 4 or 5 (depends on when we get to a certain arc.)

2nd. Volume One

3rd. Volume 4 or 5, depending on which isn't the arc I'm thinking of.

4th. Volume 3

5th. Volume 6

6th. Volume 2

Anyway, this has gone on long enough for an update chapter, but I wanted to again say thank you for enjoying the story. I appreciate you all.
