———————————————————————————

Woah, woah, woah, she’s fast, way too fast! Even with my third eye open, I’m just barely evading her attacks, it’s taking everything I’ve got just to dodge…even if I wanted to counterattack, she’s too fast for me to deal with!

I narrowly ducked under the whip of her tail, before springing back as she blasted out a fireball at me, a few of the embers that burst out as it struck the ground hitting my legs, as I let out a stifled hiss of pain.

She then shot towards me before I could regain my footing, rapidly driving her fist towards my midsection. Just in the nick of time, I fired out blasts of wind from my feet to shoot myself up, her fist grazing the side of my left knee as I zipped straight up into the air.

Crap, at this rate, she’ll end up teleporting me out of the safety barrier, I can’t let the other students see me defeated!

”Okay, I think that’ll do,” I remarked, as I swooped down and landed beside her, placing a hand on her shoulder with a nod, “Very impressive, there aren’t many people who can use the True Anima form.”

Nice, I handled that like a pro!

”Thank you, instructor. I wanted to see if I could make you go all out, but I guess you decided not to, huh?” She replied innocently, before a slight smirk appeared on her face as she reverted to her normal state.

Crap, she’s sharp…

”N-naturally! Alright, that concludes this session, everyone, head back to class now for your next session. Based on the results of this session, I’ll split you into even, balanced teams. Once I have, I’ll come back at the end of the day and let you know what the teams are,” I instructed them, before letting out a quiet sigh of relief as they all left.

Well, that was kinda exhausting.

But that girl…she might be just what we’ve been looking for, a Reincarnator who was born after not-God was defeated. I should definitely go to the castle and report what happened here to Rai and Jhin.

Because even if she isn’t a Reincarnator, she’s still abnormally powerful. Wish I got a chance to scan her power level after she unleashed her True Anima form. And thinking back to her fireballs, I’m fairly certain that they were enhanced by wind.

There’s never been a case of a human naturally attaining two Elemental Magic types, so if I’m right, then this is a first.

What’s more, the True Anima form is said to require immense mental stress to unlock, it usually only happens when someone’s really driven into a corner, and even then, it’s rare.

With the exception of Ekai, everyone else who’s attained that form in the present did so because Belia used Divine Magic to increase the possibility of that happening, while putting them in dire straits.

Given how peaceful things have been lately, I find it hard to imagine that this girl has gone through something particularly traumatic in recent years.

There’s still plenty of time left in the day before classes are over for today, so I’ll go to the castle right away and report this to Rai and Jhin. I’ll give them a call to let them know I’m coming…

”Hey, sorry for popping by on such short notice, guys. But I’ve got some big news,” I grinned, as I entered the throne room.

”It’s fine, don’t worry about it. You said you’ve got something urgent to report?” Responded Rai inquiringly.

”Yup, totes! I did it, I found one! Well, at least I think I did, but I’m fairly sure that I did! And even if I didn’t, it’s still worth reporting, so yeah, here I am!” I replied with a thumbs up.

”That does not answer the question at all,” Sighed Jhin in exasperation.

”Dude, you’re always such a wet blanket, I was getting to it, chill. Anyway, earlier today, I was conducting sparring bouts with the newest batch of Academy students, and I’m pretty sure that one of them’s a Reincarnator born after Samsara’s defeat!” I declared with a grin.

”For real? That’s awesome!” Exclaimed Rai with a gleam in his eyes as he suddenly stood up, before calming down and clearing his throat as he sat back down and asked, “How are you so sure that this kid is a Reincarnator though?”

”Well, for starters, during my sparring match with her, I first measured her power level, and it was over 12,000,” I began to explain.

”Oh? That is quite impressive, the average tends to be between 3,000 to 5,000 in general,” Nodded Jhin with a look of intrigue.

”Yeah, that’s what first caught my eye. Then there’s her fighting style…she moves like an expertly trained martial artist, at a level that doesn’t make sense for her age, not to mention that we don’t have any such training programs for kids,” I pointed out, before suggesting, “On that note, we should totally implement martial arts and self defense classes outside of the Academy.”

”Sure, that could be a good idea. And you’re right, it certainly doesn’t make sense for someone under fifteen years old to be able to have mastered a martial arts style to the degree you’re implying…anything else that stood out about this girl?” Asked Rai thoughtfully.

”Yup, yup…she used fireballs to attack too, but with the amount they were swirling, and the speed too, I’m relatively certain that they were wind-enhanced. And if that’s the case, then we’ve got someone with two Elemental Magic types, which is unheard of in a natural capacity,” I informed them.

”Fascinating, but we cannot rule out the possibility of it being a sign of evolution, or simply an aberration. There is also the possibility that you are mistaken,” Reasoned Jhin after mulling it over.

”Yeah, guess I can’t dispute that. But there’s one more thing…she could use her True Anima form.”

”Huh?” Responded Rai incredulously.

”Is that really true?” Added Jhin in disbelief.

”Mhm, totally true. She really had me on the ropes after she transformed,” I admitted sheepishly.

”Huh…okay, Reincarnator or not, this kid has same serious potential, assuming you’re not exaggerating anything,” Mused Rai with a gleam in his eyes.

”Hey, not cool!”

”If this girl does turn out to be a Reincarnator, and this level of power turns out to be the norm for new Reincarnators, then it will be imperative that we form good relationships with them. On that day fifteen years ago, we suffered an immensely heavy blow to our overall power. Lord Kuro, Lady Persia, Azyl, Rion, Azeria, Draco, a fair number of the Vampires and Demons…altogether, a far too devastating a loss. The new Reincarnators may be just what we need to secure our combat power for the future,” Surmised Jhin with a nod.

”Yeah, but we’re in times of peace, so it’s not that important anymore, is it?” I reasoned optimistically.

”We cannot get complacent. To ensure that these peaceful times continue, we will need power in order to deal with anything that threatens our peace. I shall be around even once all of you have passed away, I can probably extend the life of this body for a couple of centuries or so, and then I can find a new body to inhabit. At least until Lord Kuro returns, I shall oversee this nation and ensure that it does not go astray,” Replied Jhin firmly.

Damn, that’s some commitment…

”I appreciate the dedication and all, dude, but you’re getting ahead of yourself. I’ll probably live for more than a century and a half or so myself, that’s what Kuro said when he gave me my power up. So I’ll be around for a while yet,” Grinned Rai with a thumbs up.

”Yes, I am aware. And your continued rule for the foreseeable future will be quite crucial, you have performed exceptionally over the past fifteen years as the leader of Abyss,” Responded Jhin graciously.

”Aw, you guys are so sweet…now, kiss!” I exclaimed enthusiastically.

”Did you really have to make it weird?” Sighed Rai in exasperation.

”Well, she is quite the degenerate, so it is to be expected,” Added Jhin with a shake of his head.

This is conflicting…their verbal abuse is a bit annoying, but it’s also kinda nice, to be berated so disdainfully, hehe…

”Uh, we should stop, I think she’s enjoying this…,” Frowned Rai in bemusement.

”I wonder if there is any way to fix her,” Muttered Jhin, as he narrowed his eyes at me, “Perhaps we need to have a look at her brain…”

U-uh, I don’t like the sound of that…does he want to cut open my head or something?
