“How many people survived the battle back then?” Li Qiye asked directly.Devil glanced at Fog before responding: “At least two.”
“At least two.” Six-style became emotional because the young noble’s speculation matched this.
“Who are the two?” Fog became impatient.
Devil didn’t answer and disappeared again.
“Hey, hey, wait!” Fog immediately gave chase.
“So might be more than just one traitor.” Six-style said.
More than ten ancient progenitors might have been involved, but to have two traitors among them?
“Perhaps one is the target, so only one traitor.” She corrected herself. The target might not be Dingtian but should have been someone on a similar level.
“Here’s something to think about, there was no target. Or rather, the target was one of them.” Li Qiye smiled.
“Just a treacherous plot from the start.” She said.
“The question is, who and why.” Li Qiye said.
“For the core of Silver Dragon Mecha?” She asked.
“In reality, the core of the mecha is not part of the mecha but a legacy from a more powerful existence.” Li Qiye shook his head.
“What is it?” She asked.
“There’s more to it than this because to obtain this legacy, there could have been other methods such as force.” He said.
She agreed because there was no need to seize the legacy at the major ghost market. Anywhere else would have worked. This applied to killing the ancient progenitors too.
“This goes back to the mastermind wanting to hide their secrets.” He continued.
“The dead is the least suspicious.” She murmured: “I have some names.”
She said but didn’t state them. Given the circumstances, the leader of Old Pact Strike was the most suspicious.
He chuckled and jumped into the abyssal well. She trusted and followed him.
“Crackle!” The lightning water danced with them instead of attacking.
Once they landed on the floor, the abyss turned out to be an independent world with mountains and distant stars.
They saw a true dragon resting on one of the mountains - Heavenly Wrath. It blended in so well that without a keen eye, one wouldn’t notice it.
Divine chains were more visible now with a gray color, piercing the dragon. They were connected to the mountain and reached the depths.
“I didn’t see them before.” She said because Heavenly Wrath was free to fly earlier.
“Look closely.” Li Qiye said and pointed at red pulses coming from the dragon.
These pulses were its power yet they were piercing and slicing the dragon. On the other hand, something was flowing through the chain-like laws and entering the dragon. This unknown dao essence was alleviating its agony and saving its life.
“What a strange weapon.” She said.
“A weapon, yes, but also alive.” Li Qiye said.
“The spirit?” She asked because powerful weapons normally had personal sentient spirits.
“Not like that, someone refined himself into the weapon.” Li Qiye explained.
“Armament Temple Lord!” She blurted and finally understood.
All the commotion earlier in the temple but its lord never appeared. People came to seize the scales so he should have shown up to stop them.
