Eos was weak in many areas, but his strength was great enough that, given the right tools, he should be able to bulldoze his way out of most problems.

For a long time now, he had been struggling to understand the power of End, and this problem only arose because he was missing the necessary components to understand this power; his consciousness powers were more than enough to wield this power; he just needed the key.

The same thing was happening to his Incarnation Rowan, who was becoming the Primordial of Space. Even before reaching this level, his conscious powers were so great that he had already mastered all four layers of the Origin of Space, and he was only missing the right tools to finalize this process.

This temple, which was built outside of time, applied powers that were beyond Rowan’s present manipulation of time, as he could not seize the time stream of this temple, but it did not mean that it was safe from his powers, and Noctis was learning this.

"I thought I caught a snake... but you are a dragon," Noctis sighed, and he pointed towards the other hooded Architects, "Some of them would be pleased by this; they believed we were creating something greater than ourselves, someone, beyond all limits, and I am pleased that our work was not totally useless."

Rowan cocked his head to the side, "You all created me?"

"Ah, I wish," Noctis chuckled, "No, we just brought the right ingredient together following the rules of End and hope that something remarkable would come out of it, I mean, all the parts were accounted for, and with all the power at our disposal, we were bound to be successful."

Rowan glowered, "Explain, and speak from the beginning. I want you to tell me everything that you know."

The ten Watchers had left a shade of themselves behind as they continued their grim task of mapping out the entirety of Existence. This task was fundamentally impossible to complete because it did not take them long after entering Limbo to notice that the fabrics of Existence were constantly expanding.

This process was fascinating as Limbo was made from a structure that was beyond Space, and as a ninth-dimensional space, its expansion went along nine separate parts, with each portion of Limbo feeding on the others in a symbiotic relationship that extended its boundary for all eternity.

It was one of the Archai, a Watcher that revealed the formula for Limbo’s expansion that showed that there was nothing outside Limbo, but the ceaseless power of expansion was tearing through this nothingness to create Existence, and it was deriving the fuel for its expansion from the stuff of nothingness itself.

This process could not be stopped and was self-regulating.

In this manner, Limbo was a perpetual motion engine that would never run out of fuel for its expansion. Technically, Existence would one day grow so large that even the Primordials would become minor parts of its history, just because they would only be able to claim only a small part of it.

At this time, the entirety of Limbo was drenched in evil from the slaughter of countless lives by the Primordials, but all of this was still a problem because, in many ways, Limbo, therefore Existence, was still quite young.

Working with Eos, the Archai determined that Existence, as it was, was around 700 million Cosmic Eras old. This was obviously a very long time ago, and the Primordials rose 65 million Cosmic Eras ago, and their touch had reshaped all of Existence into Limbo.

Still, this revelation that it did not matter what happened in the End, whether the battles were won or lost, one day, Existence would grow so massive that the Primordials would be a footnote. It could happen many quadrillions of Cosmic Eras into the future, but that day would surely come.

Life and all of its wonders could no longer be shackled.

The Archai had brought this revelation to Eos, and he had been happy with them; they were among the few that Eos would charge to escape from this conflict if he were to lose, but he could not afford to lose.

There was one fact that he had kept away from the Archai and everyone else, and that was the power of End.

The calculations of the Archai were correct, but they were missing one specific fact, and that was that there was a power great enough to shatter the expansion of Existence.

This power could bypass all known laws that governed all of the nine dimensions and rewrite the rules as it wants, and everything in Existence would have to accommodate this change.

If, for instance, someone with the power of End wishes for fire to be cold and water to be hot. All of existence, including all the Realities inside of it, containing countless dimensions and universes, would have its laws transformed from the ground up.

The only reason Eos was not panicking as much was that he was aware that this power seemed to come with a great price, and the one who wanted to wield this power again was being greatly restricted.

However, that restriction was slowly loosening.

Eos did not know the ultimate goal of Enoch or the Primordials, but he knew one thing, and that was their love for power and their endless quest to achieve it.

It did not matter whether they were evil or not; the one thing he knew was that if the Primordials or Enoch were able to control all the power inside Existence and hold on to it, they would not want Existence to ceaselessly expand.

Every second that Existence expanded, they saw their power slipping away, and although the process whereby Existence would expand to a point where a Primordial would essentially become a minor lord of a small region when its entirety was placed into perspective, was so far into the future the number for it was almost ridiculous, however, the Primordials existed beyond time, and for them, time was not a factor, they only saw their soverignty slipping away.

This was a realization that Eos came about recently as he pondered on the formula created by the Archai, and he understood that perhaps the reason Enoch and the Primordials were becoming so desperate outside of claiming ultimate power was that they knew that they were on a clock.

Using the power of End came at a cost, and if they wanted to reverse Existence from expanding forever, essentially making them the ceiling of power, they needed to act fast before a threshold was crossed; after that, it would not matter if they won, because they would have lost.

Eos did not tell the Archai the truth that this battle needed to be won, else their formula was useless, because he knew the importance of hope. This burden he could carry alone, at least for now.

However, with the presence of Enoch interfering with his Ascension of his Incarnation, he knew that this being was no longer standing aside anymore for him to seize more power.

His Incarnation might be distracted by the events inside that strange temple, but he still had more eyes, and presently he was watching the Cradle of Enoch imploding into itself as war began to rage across its entirety.

Eos began readying himself for battle; time was up, and Enoch was breaking the entire board.
