This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

All of the imperial capital. All of the region. All of Revered Ancient…. At that moment, everyone was dumbstruck.

There were many ordinary cultivators who couldn’t perceive what was happening in the Imperial Region. But the pressure weighing down, and the divine will from the Quasi-Immortals, caused tempest winds to form. Everyone was struck with a sense of profound solemnity. People began to shake uncontrollably, an instinct that came from their very life force.

Some powerful experts could use special means to sense what was happening, but the result was that they were nearly struck senseless.

It was as if all heaven and earth had slowed down, and all the natural and magical laws were crumbling. Everyone felt as if they were being hit by millions upon millions of bolts of lightning. The level of incredulity was unimaginable.

“Eleven… Quasi-Immortals!”

“Eleven… Grand Emperors!”

“Every single one is obviously the strongest type of Grand Emperor!”

“They… actually look human!”

The powerful experts who could see what was happening had a hard time believing it was real. After all, even among all the countless species in Revered Ancient, the strongest cultivators were only Imperial Sovereigns. And Empress Summer Departure was a god, not a cultivator.

Among cultivators… for tens of thousands of years, there had been only one Quasi-Immortal, and that was Grand Emperor Swordsage. And he came from the time of Dark Serenity. You could say that after Dark Serenity’s time, there were no Quasi-Immortals!

But right now… the holy lands’ Quasi-Immortals seemed insignificant. These eleven newcomers were mysterious chosen who shook all of Revered Ancient. Even the gods of the powerful species in Revered Ancient were taking the situation very seriously.

However, gods and powerful experts alike, including Empress Summer Departure, were even more shaken by the specific words spoken by the last of the Grand Emperors to arrive. He had used the term ‘His Majesty.’

Those words astonished the empress and the others more than anything up to that point. The gods’ guard went up, and the empress’ pupils constricted. Everyone could guess what kind of individual eleven Grand Emperors would refer to as ‘His Majesty.’ Just what kind of dignity and power would such a person command?

What was more… contained in the information was an even more explosive tidbit. On their journey, ‘His Majesty’ had been intercepted by multiple God Lords! That information left the gods of Revered Ancient in a daze.

The cultivators of Revered Ancient didn’t know what God Lords were. But information about them was part of the souls of all the gods. They knew what God Lords were and how powerful they were. Entities like that occupied an unimaginably high level. In fact, even back in the time of the Brilliant Heaven Godfolk, there had only been one God Lord. That was the god emperor of the Brilliant Heaven Godfolk!

But now, the person these Grand Emperors referred to as His Majesty… had been intercepted by multiple God Lords! Because of what it all implied, Revered Ancient fell into an even deeper silence.

Then, Empress Summer Departure looked at Zhou Zhengli, who stood in front of the ten other Grand Emperors. After a moment of hesitation, she asked, “Fellow Daoist, might I ask who His Majesty is?”

The ‘young prince from the aristocratic clan,’ Zhou Zhengli, smiled in response to the question. “His Majesty’s respected name is not to be spoken casually. We really aren’t in the position to reveal it. You’ll likely recognize him when he arrives.”

Stunned, the empress searched her memories but could not think of who this person might be. She was about to ask further questions, but then Zhou Zhengli frowned and looked off into the distance.

“Hordeslayer. Rampart.”

The two immortal swords Hordeslayer and Rampart weren’t paying attention, and were instead just flying around in the area just like before. As immortal light shone out from them, causing heaven and earth to shake violently, the two brothers communicated by divine will.

“Big brother, these people are so weak!”

“It’s not that they’re weak. It’s that were too strong! Hahahahaha!”

“Hahahahaha! Yeah, you’re totally right. That said, big brother, the mutagen levels here are crazy high! And what’s that up above? Is that Eminent Desolation?”

“Don’t look up! That’s something we can’t afford to provoke! Er, hey. Everybody’s looking at us, little brother. Maybe we should pay attention a bit?”

“Screw paying attention!”

The two swords just kept sailing around blithely. And thus, Zhou Zhengli smiled and took out a jade slip.

“On the way here,” he said quietly, “I suggested that His Majesty put me in charge of recording your behavior. If you insist on fooling around, I guess I’ll just put that into the record.”

Before he could even activate the jade slip… Hordeslayer and Rampart shot over to his side. Even in sword form, they still seemed flustered and exasperated.

Zhou Zhengli’s expression didn’t change at all. Speaking in a voice as gentle as a spring breeze, he said, “The two of you will go on patrol in the west and east. Kill all the holy lands Quasi-Immortals you find! Wang Peng, Bloodcloud, the two of you will patrol the south and north and do the same!”

Wang Peng grinned. Daoist Bloodcloud licked his lips. And then the two of them blasted off, one toward the north, the other to the south. Hordeslayer and Rampart seemed a bit sullen, but they feared Xu Qing, and thus had no option but to fly to the east and west, respectively. The four struck like lightning. Rumbling sounds filled heaven and earth as they began to attack the weaker holy lands Quasi-Immortals.

The humans below were slowly shifting from being nervous to excited. Though they had no idea where these people were from, nor the identity of His Majesty, it was already clear that these chosen cultivators were not enemies!

Smiling, Zhou Zhengli was about to give further orders.

But then something dramatic happened! A cold snort echoed out with heaven-shaking, earth-shattering force. It was like heavenly thunder filling all of Revered Ancient. Minds reeling, all the people trembled and looked up.

Zhou Zhengli and the others had very serious expressions on their faces as they similarly looked up. That cold snort came… from beyond the canopy of heaven! The heights of heaven seemed to solidify as a cold will spread down. Deathly silence ensued. Majestic might arrived that could shatter the many heavens, as explosive as a volcano!

It was the ancient immortal that was outside of Revered Ancient. He… had chosen to descend! At first, he was nothing but a blurry outline. But even still, he seemed as weighty as the starry sky, which caused the air to ripple like the surface of a lake hit by a boulder.

As the ancient immortal became clearer, the surrounding natural laws were ripped apart. Ghastly black rifts opened up, like the maws of vicious beasts. As they spread, spine-tingling screaming sounds echoed out.

As the immortal strode forth, all parts of Revered Ancient trembled. A wind swept out like a doomsday executioner, so powerful that it sliced tall mountains in half, sending boulders plunging down to the ground, where they smashed everything into dust. Rivers and seas fared no better. It was like a huge hand was ripping at them, causing massive waves to smash into the banks and cliffs, and sending water out to drown everything in Revered Ancient.

The ancient immortal had arrived, and it signaled a death knell for all living beings in Revered Ancient.

Everyone was shaken and trembling. The hope that had come because of the arrival of the eleven Grand Emperors was instantly smashed!
