God’s Left Hand (Web Novel) - Book 1 — Chapter 26

Book 1: Chapter 26

She walked up and hugged everyone. Everyone there had gone through all night training, defeats and shady plots, victories and cheers with her……

When she was in front of Solo, looking at his eyes and face with the familiar expression and smile, she hesitated for a few seconds then reached out to hug him and said with a smile, “Can I say that you are even more handsome now?”

“Sure.” Solo hugged her back. When they separated, he continued to say, “Your hair's longer.”

“Is there anything wrong?” She touched her own hair.

“It looks good.” Solo smiling eyed her. “Sit down.”

Because of the hug, everyone relaxed. At first, when they saw Ai Qing, they were all anxious, fearing that one of the two would walk out right away. Fortunately, all was well now.

All and Xiaomi were the most excited. Too bad the match was tomorrow and they couldn’t drink till they dropped.

“Solo, you are truly this,” All sticked out his thumb, “you’re a top player no matter what event it is. You sure are the captain of our old team.”

Solo shook his head with a smile, but didn’t say anything. He just raised his bottle symbolically and touched All’s.

Ai Qing was sitting next to him, but didn’t know what to say. She was chatting with the guys on the other side of her the whole time until Solo went out to answered his phone, All moved over and said next to her, “Do you know why I dragged you over here tonight?”

Ai Qing shook her head.

“To bring you two together.” All was still straightforward. “I met him last year at a competition in Beijing. Did you know he’s been single all this time? You were too young at the time and couldn’t accept it. But, that happened before he was with you. He broke up with you, it was so unnecessary……who doesn’t have some dumb moment when they’re young. Only he had bad luck and a daughter out of nowhere.”

“I know.” Ai Qing answered briefly. “I know he didn’t have girlfriend all along.”

That woman just gave the daughter to him; she didn’t want to get back with him.

He had used all the means he could think of and knelt before his parents, then finally his parents agreed to officially adopt his daughter by pulling a lot of strings. On the household registration, she was his sister, but it’s hard to overlook the truth.

Just as All had said, she was much too young at the time, how could she accept this kind of truth……

All had prepared a speech, but was cut short by her answer. He suspiciously looked at her and puzzledly shook his head. “Forget about it. I better not to talk much.” He changed the topic swiftly. “Are you coming to watch the game? It’s my first championship game?”

“After all this time you’re still so cocky.” Ai Qing was dumbfounded. “Every generation has their own talent, don’t overlook them just because you’re more experienced. Nowadays, when I occasionally go on forums and see all the newcomers, I truly feel that we’ve all become seniors and the only thing left is our ashes.”

“They don’t even know where they were when I was cocky.” All raised his eyebrows with a laugh. “Don’t talk like I’m old. I just graduated from college this year. I’m still a novice as far as society is concerned.”

Several people overheard what All said and couldn’t help laughing.

“Cocky about what? Gou Gou is the one who should be cocky.” Xiaomi couldn’t stand it anymore. “In those days, girls only played with female teams. Gou Gou was the only girl who played with men in competitions. Who else did you know do that?”

She laughed with the others and stuck out her tongue.

Before 11, everyone excused themselves and left. They purposely left her and Solo in front of the bar.

The two uneasily stood there for a while, then he flagged down a taxi and took her back to the hotel.

When she got out the taxi, Solo, sitting inside the cab, suddenly asked her, “Do you want me to pick you up tomorrow?”

Ai Qing was taken back then she remembered that she had promised to go watch All. “It’s not necessary, just tell me the address.”
