Chapter 1545 Finally Awake

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

At last, Valerian had awakened from his long slumber.

In his proud draconic form, he flapped his wings and majestically hovered before Adam and the giant turtle's head.

For a few seconds, his topaz eyes flickered with confusion.

One moment, he was deep asleep by the Eternal Soul Lotus, having a beautiful dream. The next moment, he appeared before Adam, who looked vastly different from before.

The young dragon tilted his head and murmured:

"…Brother?"

Adam finally snapped back to his senses.

It wasn't Valerian's sudden appearance that shocked him. No, he had already anticipated it. What truly surprised him was the mana fluctuations rolling unsteadily from him.

He almost teared up as he glanced at his little brother. Then, without wasting another moment, he flew toward the mighty dragon, laughing in great joy.

"Little Val!"

The raven-haired youth spread his arms wide and wrapped them around the dragon's massive, scaly neck. His hands failed to meet behind it, and he laughed in disbelief.

"You've grown so big!"

Still disoriented, Valerian didn't quite realize what was going on. But when Adam hugged him, he felt safe, he felt warm, he felt loved, and he felt happy. His eyes turned teary as he slowly closed them.

"Brother," he murmured as he transformed into a gray cat. Tears trickled down his furry face, and he said, "I missed you… I missed you so much!"

Adam's lips quivered, and he tightly embraced the little guy. "I missed you too, Little Val."

He fondly patted Valerian's head, then wiped his tears away. He planted a kiss on his forehead and smiled warmly. "But now everything's fine. You're fine. I'm fine. Everything's fine."

"Myu!" Valerian nodded, his topaz eyes still teary.

"But brother…" He tilted his cute, furry head and asked, "Why do you look so young?"

After his most recent transformation, Adam looked vastly different from how he used to. He was shorter, his build leaner, and his appearance much more pleasing to the eye.

Adam ruffled the little guy's head and said with a smile, "Well, a lot has happened since you went to sleep. I'll tell you all about it. But more importantly…"

He held the gray cat by the armpits and lifted him up, stretching him out in front of his face. Adam squinted, studying him closely, and murmured in faint disbelief, "What about you. How did you become so strong so quickly?"

Valerian flailed his arms around, reaching for Adam's neck until he finally managed to hug him.

"I don't know, Brother," he said, holding on tightly. "I only remember sleeping and… dreaming."

Dreaming? Adam wondered with an inquisitive look on his face.

Dragons are said to grow stronger as they age. Although only a little less than forty years have passed since Val went into a deep slumber, he still managed to grow this strong.

Could it be…

Adam's eyes squinted, and he thought of a possibility.

The Eternal Soul Lotus?

Although he had no way to verify his assumption, he believed he wasn't far from the truth. Valerian was a Mind Dragon, after all. And the Lotus was the greatest treasure in the domain of the mind and soul.

Before he went into hibernation, Valerain had merely been at the Mana Foundation Rank.

But now…

The young dragon was at the Mana Vortex Rank!

His thoughts came to a halt when a booming voice echoed in the air.

"Little Adam," Tebu called out to him, his ancient gaze stuck on Valerian. "Is that… a dragon?"

Adam turned around mid-air and looked at the massive turtle head with slight surprise, "Lord Tebu, you know about dragons?"

Dragons had never existed on Tron. Well, only in legends. Adam didn't expect the ancient turtle, who was a recluse by nature, to know about them.

But in hindsight, Adam felt silly asking that question. Tebu was a being older than the First Magi. Even if he had not seen dragons, he had surely heard of them.

"Yes," said the ancient turtle. "But in tales only. To think that I would actually get to witness one in my lifetime…"

Valerian peeked out from Adam's embrace, glancing at the giant turtle head through his curious topaz eyes. "Brother, what is that?" he asked softly.

Adam turned to the little guy and smiled warmly. "Val, this is Lord Tebu. He is my benefactor. After the…"

He paused, not willing to bring up anything related to the Battle of Ravenfell, fearing that it might bring back any suppressed traumas in the young dragon.

"Well, if it wasn't for him, then I wouldn't have been alive," he added.

"Oh." Valerian nodded.

He then turned toward the massive turtle head and waved his furry paw. "Thank you for saving my big brother, Lord Tebu. I am grateful to you. My name is Valerian. It is a pleasure to meet you."

Tebu's eyes flashed with warmth. "The pleasure is mine, Little Valerian."

Adam couldn't help but chuckle, witnessing the little guy speak so politely. He fondly ruffled his head and said, "You hungry, Val? You've been sleeping for quite a long time, you know."

Valerian tilted his head and blinked. "How long have I been asleep, Brother?"

"Almost forty years."

"Ehh?!" The little guy's eyes widened. "Forty years!"

"Yeah," Adam said with a light chuckle as he flew toward Tebu's head.

He gently placed Valerian behind the barnacles and added, "Wait here and chat with Lord Tebu. I'll go fish for some food. I'll be back in a few minutes, okay?"

"Myu!"

Adam's heart melted. Oh, how much he had longed to reunite with his little brother. Now that the dragon was finally awake, he couldn't help but feel deeply happy.

Without wasting another moment, he flew back and plunged into the ocean.

Meanwhile, on the giant turtle's head, Valerian turned around and glanced at the massive coral island behind.

"Lord Tebu, you are so big!"

The ancient turtle smiled faintly. "So I've been told."

He paused for a moment, then asked in a slightly eager voice, "Little Valerian, would you care to satisfy this old one's curiosity?"

"Myu!" the little guy beamed. "Anything for you!"

"As far as I'm aware, this world has never birthed a dragon," Tebu began. "So where did you come from?"

"Where did I… come from?" Valerian murmured. "I don't know…"

The young dragon remembered little from the time he was still inside his egg.

Only vague fragments of memories remained. All he knew was that he was afraid, in grave danger, and desperately crying out for help.

And the one who had answered that call was Adam.

Valerian had always wondered about his origins, about where he truly came from.

And now, having grown a little stronger at last, perhaps it was time to find out…
