Chapter 1585 Three Moves

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Silence descended in the square.

Adam's raven hair fluttered gently in the wind as he scanned the faces of the Mana Core Magi before him. He recognized only one of them.

His gaze settled on Daniel Ranzenberg for a moment longer, and he noticed that the latter also seemingly recognized him.

At last, he turned around and glanced at Anna, who also had Valerian in her arms.

"You guys alright?" He asked gently.

The crimson-haired princess and the dragon prince nodded.

Adam turned back around, then finally shifted his attention to Magus Lovelace, who seemed to be in a state of shock.

"Are you the leader?" He asked, his tenebrous eyes flashing with mockery.

A drop of cold sweat trickled down the side of Lovelace's temple. Seven Mana Core Magi had come together and released their mana upon this youth. Yet, with a simple swipe of the hand, the youth had dispelled the pressure entirely.

Lovelace snapped out of his shock, his expression now utterly grim. He subconsciously gulped and demanded, "Identify yourself, Magus!"

"And what if I don't?" Adam's voice echoed calmly.

But it came from much closer.

Lovelace's eyes slowly widened.

Adam was no longer standing a dozen meters away.

He was right beside him!!

Not just Lovelace, but every other Mana Core Magus was unable to read Adam's movements. This was no magical spell. This was pure speed. One moment, he was present, and the next, he had disappeared.

Color instantly drained off Lovelace's elderly face. He had never been so outclassed before. He slowly turned his head and glanced at Adam's youthful visage.

In the youth's tenebrous eyes, he saw nothing but disdain.

The Duke of Acadia felt a chill crawl down his spine. The youth beside him was looking at him as if he were nothing but an insect.

Magus Lovelace's heart began to race, and his clothes were drenched in sweat. His pride was greatly wounded, but even so, he did not dare to strike back and recover his honor.

No. He knew... one wrong word, one wrong move, and he would die!

The cold indifference in the youth's dark eyes crushed every ounce of confidence in him.

A few other Mana Core Magi didn't realize why Lovelace was behaving so strangely. After all, they didn't feel what he was feeling at the moment.

So they couldn't help but take a step forward and prepare to attack Adam. After all, in their minds, it was obvious that a single Mana Core Magus would not be able to stand up to them.

Lovelace saw them move. He opened his mouth to warn them not to do anything foolish, but right at that moment, a tyrannical wave of mana erupted from Adam.

The pressure swept outward like a storm, yet it only struck the seven Mana Core Magi. The children, the other Magi, the ordinary spectators, none of them felt a thing. Adam's precise control over mana was simply astonishing.

But the Mana Core Magi... their expression changed instantly. Their shoulder sank, their knees trembled, and their breaths grew heavy.

They had never felt such a tyrannical aura. And woven into it was something else... something otherworldly, something filled with dread.

It was as if the heavens themselves had singled them out!

The Magi felt their heart gripped by an unseen hand. All of them felt their blood run cold. And then, Adam's cold voice, filled with supreme confidence, echoed in the air.

"Three moves," he said calmly. "In three moves, I can kill every last one of you. Do you believe it?"

They believed it.

All of them realized the immense gap between them and the raven-haired youth. They didn't doubt for even a second that Adam would be able to deal with all of them effortlessly.

Magus Lovelace, who was standing right beside Adam, suddenly felt an indescribable feeling filling his heart.

For a brief moment, Adam's figure overlapped with another figure, someone he respected and admired more than anyone in the world.

The proud silhouette of Lucian Acadia appeared to stand where Adam stood.

Lovelace trembled as he thought in sheer disbelief:

Are you telling me... you're as great as the Emperor of Acadia?!!

Impossible!!

"Who... who are you?" he couldn't help but softly murmur.

But it wasn't Adam who answered him.

Daniel Ranzenberg stared at Anna's crimson hair, then at the gray cat in her arms, then finally at Adam.

His lips slowly parted, and his following words rang like thunder in everyone's

ears.

"The Dark King..."

When the Mana Core Magi heard his words, they were shaken to the core.

Most had believed that the Dark King was long dead. And yet here he stood... not only alive, but a Mana Core Magus far more powerful than any of them. Adam turned to Daniel, the contempt in his eyes replaced with acknowledgment. He offered a nod and faintly smiled.

"Councilor Ranzenberg.

Daniel's eyes flashed with complicated emotions. There was a lot he wanted to say to the youth, but now was not the time. Instead, he corrected him:

"I'm Lord Marshall now."

"Lord Marshall..." Adam was slightly taken aback. His lips curled into a smile,

and he said, "Lady Benton would be glad."

Daniel's lips opened and closed several times. In the end, he simply nodded.

Adam turned his attention back to Lovelace, then said in an even voice, "Send Lucian Acadia my regards."

With that said, he turned around and walked away. He openly showed his back to the Mana Core Magi, yet none of them dared to move an inch. They were frozen in terror, so how could they?

The following moment, Adam's voice echoed in the square once more.

"Valerian."

ROOAAAR!!!

The gray cat leapt from Anna's arms.

Under the stunned gazes of hundreds of onlookers, his small body expanded

midair. In a few moments, a mighty dragon stood where the cat had been.

Gasps rippled through the crowd.

Adam and Anna moved without hesitation, climbing onto Valerian's back. Before departing, Adam cast one last glance toward Daniel Ranzenberg and gave him a subtle nod.

Then, the giant dragon flapped its wings, whipping up strong winds in the square. Dust spiralled into the air as the legendary beast of magic shot upward,

piercing through the clouds.

Silence followed.

For a long time, no one spoke, and no one moved.

And then... all hell broke loose.

The Dark King had returned!!!
