Midday, Wuzhe Mountain Laboratory.Park Hyun-dong, Che Zaihe, and Li Yueying were eating in the lab’s cafeteria.
"I think we cannot delay any longer, this matter must proceed quickly."
Compared to Che Zaihe, Park Hyun-dong was very short, had a buzz cut, and was quite thin, even more so than Li Yueying, but his eyes were sharp, giving a very clever impression.
Che Zaihe and Li Yueying ate silently.
This morning, he had been discussing this matter, and the two knew why; it was likely that people from other organizations had bribed him, wanting to take the first part of the Sheepskin Scroll.
"Let’s start in the afternoon." Che Zaihe said:
"But I’ve ordered a batch of equipment; it will arrive soon. Let’s rest for a while at noon; don’t tire ourselves too much. After I sign for that batch of equipment, we’ll start handling the Sheepskin Scroll."
Park Hyun-dong paused and nodded at last.
The three had their own ulterior motives, silently speeding up their eating, and after the meal came the lunch break. Park Hyun-dong returned to his office, Che Zaihe went to the entrance of the Research Institute, preparing to receive the goods.
Soon after, a box truck drove into the courtyard of the Research Institute; the passenger door opened, and a man dressed in camouflage stepped down, calling out in the courtyard.
He called everyone out, preparing to unload the goods.
And this person was none other than the one who went with Song Zhongtian to find Lin Yi; his name was Li Youhe, a trusted subordinate of Song Zhongtian, otherwise, Song Zhongtian wouldn’t have taken him to find Lin Yi.
Members of the Angry Sea Organization came out of the Research Institute one after another.
Li Youhe watched from the side, supervising their work.
When they carried the last big box, Li Youhe called over a person.
"The equipment inside is important, imported, be careful. It’s better if the two of us handle it."
"Okay."
The two went together to move the big box, slowly carrying it to the equipment warehouse of the laboratory.
"Thank you for your hard work; everyone can leave now. The subsequent verification work won’t need us."
Li Youhe drove the others out, and he and Che Zaihe stayed behind.
Seeing everyone leave, Che Zaihe locked the warehouse door, then nodded at Li Youhe.
The latter took a tool, walked to the big box, and removed the lid.
Inside the box were not instruments, but Lin Yi and Song Zhongtian.
At this moment, Lin Yi was wearing a lab coat identical to Che Zaihe’s; if his face were covered, he looked just like the lab personnel.
Lin Yi’s face had undergone some disguise; unless someone closely inspected it face-to-face, it would be hard to recognize his identity.
The reason for lurking in the box with Song Zhongtian was just in case.
If something unexpected happened, Song Zhongtian could still be used as a hostage.
"What do you plan to do next?" Song Zhongtian asked.
"According to your plan, open the safe and take out the Sheepskin Scroll." Lin Yi said:
"Park Hyun-dong will definitely try to take the first part of the Sheepskin Scroll. You just have to go along with it and give him such an opportunity. I’ll handle what comes next."
Everyone nodded, ensuring no danger for them.
After discussing the subsequent plans, Che Zaihe was the first to leave, ensuring no one was around, before signaling to the group to come out one after another.
Lin Yi put on a mask, calmly following behind Che Zaihe.
This was his first time at Wuzhe Mountain Laboratory.
The entire lab comprised interconnected buildings.
Exiting the warehouse, there was a long hallway, Lin Yi cautiously observed the surroundings.
The hallway connecting the warehouse and the lab wasn’t particularly interesting, but the air was filled with a strange scent.
Ordinary people might not detect it, but Lin Yi’s keen sense of smell couldn’t miss it; though he couldn’t pinpoint its source.
After crossing the hallway, he reached the lab.
On both sides were rooms filled with various experimental equipment.
Standing beside Che Zaihe, Lin Yi whispered:
"Where’s the safe?"
"See those stairs ahead? It’s below, on the negative first floor."
"Is the staircase the only exit from the negative first floor to the first floor?"
"That’s the only one."
"What is the procedure when you take out the first part of the Sheepskin Scroll?"
"We’ll take it to the second floor and start research in the lab."
After listening, Lin Yi narrowed his eyes. He had to admit, Cui Shengguo’s precautionary work was thorough and very beneficial to his plan.
"Set up a room for me on the second floor, preferably one where I can observe your lab."
"You go to room 208."
Che Zaihe took out a key card from his pocket.
"With this, you can open room 208; you’ll be able to see our lab across from it."
Lin Yi nodded, pondered, then asked:
"Your place doesn’t allow any electronic devices, right?"
"To prevent information leaks, they’ve been banned for a long time."
Lin Yi felt slightly relieved; this way, Park Hyun-dong couldn’t leak the Sheepskin Scroll’s information through transmitted images.
"When you take out the first part of the Sheepskin Scroll later, remember to provide Park Hyun-dong some opportunities; you know how to do that, right?"
"Y-Yes."
"Let’s get to business."
Feeling relieved, Che Zaihe left, and Lin Yi went to the lab closest to the staircase, secretly watching the situation at the stairway.
About ten minutes later, he saw Che Zaihe and the others head to the negative first floor.
A few minutes afterwards, Park Hyun-dong, holding a silver metal box, appeared first in Lin Yi’s view, flanked by Che Zaihe and Li Yueying, heading to the second floor together.
Meanwhile, Lin Yi exited the lab, quietly following them.
Using the key card, he opened room 208; upon opening the door, Lin Yi glanced at room 207 across, noting its large space and well-equipped instruments.
But he only took a brief look, didn’t linger, quickly entering room 208, quietly monitoring the situation in room 207.
He could see the three figures moving around inside, but it was unclear what they were doing.
Soon, Li Yueying exited room 207, followed not long after by Che Zaihe.
A few more minutes passed, neither returned.
Lin Yi knew the opportunity they had created had arrived.
A few minutes later, Lin Yi saw Park Hyun-dong exit room 207.
Coming out, he sneakily looked around before heading towards the stairs.
Lin Yi’s mouth curved into a smile, his hand reaching for his scalpel, as he gently pushed open the door of room 208...
