Third Person POV

Ugh Gwoooooaaaaaaaahhh!

In a place where everything existed yet nothing existed, amidst the celestial sea of creation where countless worlds floated, IT writhed and groaned. The reason for the omniscient and omnipotent IT being brought to such a state was the reintegration of one of IT fragmentssent in the past as a countermeasure against the Demon Kingthat had now returned.

What is this?! What is this feeling?!

For the first time, IT experienced bewilderment on an unprecedented level as new sensations and emotions flowed into IT. Not since the moment IT perceived the existence of a being capable of harming Itselfthe Demon Kinghad ITS heart been so shaken.

At that time, the emotion IT felt was pure, unadulterated fear. A concept that IT had only ever observed from an external perspective suddenly enveloped ITS entire being, and overwhelmed by this fear, IT used all of ITS power to seal away the Demon King.

Although this granted a temporary peace, it was far from a permanent solution. Any attempt to engage further risked bringing IT closer to the concept of an end, so IT had chosen to leave the matter alone for the time being.

But what IT felt now was completely different.

Impossible! Ive seen it allIve seen it countless times! Ive known everything there is to know! Then why why does simply having this perspective as my own shake me so much?!

The fragment brought back memories of interactions with small, transient beingsfleeting and ephemeral lives that lasted only a year or so. From ITS perspective, this moment was a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of an instantso brief that IT would normally dismiss it as insignificant.

Yet within this single moment was an explosion of experiences and emotions that shook even the very foundation of ITS existence.

Being omniscient and omnipotent, IT already understood what emotions like joy were supposed to be. IT also knew what emotions like happiness, sadness, loneliness, and heartache were. IT had seen, heard, and understood them all.

But because IT was not truly all-knowing, IT only ever experienced these feelings as knowledge. The experiences brought back by the fragment were, therefore, not just something IT observedthey were something IT lived.

For the first time, the gap between knowledge and experience was bridged for IT and for the second time in ITS existence, IT was forced into a state of confusion.

Calm down I must calm myself. First, I need to still this turmoil. Ill Ill push this aside for now, IT murmured.

Placing a hand to ITS chest, IT forcibly tore away the unfamiliar emotions stirring within ITS being, discarding them alongside the memories brought back by the fragment. The golden glow of the separated piece faded from ITS form, and a peaceful silence finally returned to IT.

Hah. This will do. But emotions are they always this overwhelming? I knew everything about them, and yet they surged beyond control Is this what those small, fleeting beings carry within their hearts as they live their lives?

As IT narrowed ITS gaze, countless worlds floating within the celestial sea became visible. Within them, fragile and diminutive beings continued their daily lives. And in realizing that these beings lived with such turbulent emotions as a matter of course, IT felt something new stir within Itselfan unfamiliar sensation called curiosity.

Perhaps, discovering more of this wouldnt be so bad?

Although omniscient, IT had never truly been all-knowing. There was always some incompleteness to ITS existence that allowed room for further learning.

And IT had all the time in the universetime nearing infinity.

Just as IT had done before, IT created countless fragments of Itself and sent them out into various worlds. Each fragment took form in its respective world, living countless lives before eventually returning with their accumulated experiences.

One, two, ten, twentythe fragments returned, each carrying the experiences of lifetimes lived. For some, this was a matter of days; for others, millennia. They brought with them tales of happiness, sorrow, love, hatred, cruelty, and redemptionevery conceivable emotion and act experienced by sentient beings.

IT quietly reviewed each and every memory, contemplating the lessons they imparted. At times, IT acted impulsively, bestowing blessings upon specific worlds or snuffing them out entirely. But from ITS perspective, such incidents were trivial, insignificant.

Over a long, long span of time, IT digested everything, internalizing the memories as Its own experiences. Through this process, IT came to truly understand emotions on more than just a superficial level.

Looking out into the voidan untouched, infinite spaceIT uttered a single question:

What am I?

In truth, IT had never considered Itself to be special. Just as IT had created countless worlds and the small beings within them, IT believed that Itself was likely created by a being far superior. This assumption was part of ITS understanding as an omniscient and omnipotent entity.

And IT harbored neither resentment nor unease about this realization. Just as the beings IT created lived freely, IT believed Itself capable of living as IT pleased.

But through understanding the emotional movements of these fragile beings, IT began to experience a previously unknown sensationa faint flicker of unease. Unlike the overwhelming fear IT had felt upon first comprehending an end, this unease crept slowly, steadily, eroding ITS thoughts little by little.

IT was a self-contained existence.

IT was a transcendent being without equal in this realm.

IT was unique, unmatched, and alone.

In other words

I am only me

Curling into a small ball, IT wrapped Itself in an egg-like shell as ITS consciousness began to separate from the outside world.

I shouldnt have known No, I should have been satisfied with just knowing The one who created me likely designed me this way because they understood this would happen.

IT had always known loneliness, comprehending it as a concept, having observed innumerable beings endure it.

But this was the first time IT truly felt loneliness seared into ITS soul. And having tasted the joy of companionship, the weight of solitude was almost unbearable.

Yet, unlike before, IT could not sever this part of Itself. This loneliness, like fear, emerged from within ITS core. External stimuli may have triggered it, but it was fundamentally intrinsic. To cut it away would be akin to a slow, deliberate demise.

The thought of ending was terrifying. But so too was the thought of enduring endless solitude. Trapped in this unending loop, ITS cocoon grew thicker as IT withdrew further into Itself.

Its cold.

The words slipped from ITS lips unintentionally. Though the sensation was different from what IT understood as cold, no better term seemed to fit.

Feeling ITS essence grow colder and more detached, IT pressed the memory left behind by that first fragment to ITS chest.

Warm.

Though insignificant among the vast collection of experiences, that memory alone seemed to thaw ITS frozen essence, providing a faint and fleeting warmth. Though tempted to ponder why, IT chose instead to hold the warmth close, cherishing it without fully absorbing it.

Closing ITS eyes, the being known as God drifted into slumber. And as IT fell into a quiet sleep, so too did the worlds IT had created, descending into their own tranquil night.
