Ha-ha! Lets keep it going, full speed ahead!Wait, Rebecca! Could you slow down a bit?
From the control room of Noah Bryne, I could hear Rebecca steering the ship while Toby, clearly panicked, spoke up beside her. Even though I couldnt see them from the deck, I could easily imagine the scene.
Toby was stationed in the control room because of his uncanny talent for avoiding danger. His guidance, combined with Rebeccas expertise in handling the ship as if it were an extension of her own body, had increased our speed to a level previously unimaginable.
Of course, the downside of our increased speed was that enemies were now rushing at us even faster. But with this many heroes on board, that wasnt an issue in the slightest.
Take this! [Puny Paw Punch, Impact!]
Super Lightning Mega Slash!
U-um N-Nico Slash!
Waffer, Burn, and Nico launched a barrage of attacks at the enemies charging head-on. While Waffer and Burn shouted their moves with gusto, Nicos cheeks burned red with embarrassment. Honestly, if he found it so humiliating, he didnt have to shout at allbut Nico had a tendency to get swept up in the enthusiasm of others.
Gyoo-gyoo! Why am I the only one outside the ship!?
Thats because youre the only one who can function out there. But how is that even possible, Ginta?
I dunno, gyoo. But something about this golden sea felt like I could swim through it, so I tried it out, gyoo!
At the rear of the ship, Ginta was outside, physically pushing the vessel while Zurich watched in fascination. It seemed Ginta could swim through the golden waves of Genesis Particles as easily as the ship itself. This made him invaluable for making fine-tuned adjustments to the ships position, minimizing the impacts we took.
Sure, Ginta might have looked a little pitiful, being the only one forced outside to push the ship, but it was all about using the right person for the right job. And thanks to his efforts, the damage to the ship had significantly decreased.
So, Miguel, Ed taught you swordsmanship too?
Thats right. Eidos is my master, Miguel replied confidently.
On the port side, Eleas and Miguel were busy cutting down Modified Winged Ones as they chased the ship. Though both looked like children due to how they were recreated, their skills were honed to a masterful level thanks to the experiences recorded in their respective {Record Of The Heros Story}. Watching them, I had no doubt they could handle themselves just fine.
God has no right to interfere with my future with Mao-chan!
And I wont let them mess with my carefree life with Doma and Cain!
To think Id be fighting on this side Ha-ha, Schwarz muttered with a bitter smile, swinging his sword beside Yuuto and Jinku on the starboard side. None of them, particularly Schwarz, had fond memories of God. Their feelings were understandable, and I didnt have much to sayI could only hope theyd keep their strength.
If anyones injured, speak up right away! Or better yet, Ill just heal all of you before you even get hurt, Riel declared confidently.
Uh, Riel-samal? Isnt that a bit excessive? Margaret replied with a wry smile.
Perhaps, but its efficient, isnt it?
If your weapons are damaged, bring them to me! Ill forge them good as new! You there, lift with your legs, not your back! Master Dalton boomed from the central-rear of the ship, while Magna scurried around carrying boxes of metal under the blacksmiths booming instructions.
Meanwhile, Lorenz was rallying everyone with his [Brave Order, Heros Command] boosting everyones abilities. Anemo was busy analyzing the strengths of the Modified Winged Ones, while Donatella argued furiously with Go over why he was searching for a vase, yelling, Why a vase!? Men make no sense! Rain, of course, frantically tried to mediate the chaos.
Everyone was doing what they could in their own way. Seeing that, there was no way I could just stand by and watch.
Alright, everyone ready?
Of course!
Im good to go!
Never thought Id be fighting alongside others but perhaps this too is fate, Harris remarked calmly.
Beside Tia and me stood Alexis and Harristhe first hero I had ever met and the last hero of his world. Seeing these two standing together felt deeply significant in a way I couldnt quite put into words.
Then again, everything happening here was extraordinary. A Demon King capable of ending worlds marching with heroes to confront and challenge the God who created those worlds You couldnt come up with a better story if you tried.
FOOOOOOO!
Ahead of us, the largest Modified Winged Ones wed seen yet was approaching. It looked slow due to the distorted sense of distance, but it had to be at least 500 meters longprobably more. Honestly, it was so massive that estimating its size felt meaningless.
With something that big charging at us and our ship moving this fast, dodging wasnt a realistic option. We could stop and try to move sideways to avoid a collision, but reducing our speed now would only leave us vulnerable to being swarmed by more enemies.
By normal logic, we were in a hopeless situation. But normal logic didnt apply to anyone here.
Everyone, follow my lead! Three two one [Full Moon Blade, Moon Scraper!]
Times up, big guy!
Unleashing [Storm Bringer!]
Ill be crossing that winter, thank you very much!
Alexis launched a shining silver projectile, which I wrapped with the Power of the End in a swirling black vortex. Tia surrounded it with a raging tempest, and Harris sealed the deal with a final strike. The combined attack shot forward, straight at the colossal enemy.
FOOOOOOO!
The massive Modified Winged Ones let out a guttural, wordless roar as it opened its mouth, unleashing fire, ice, and lightning. The multicolored breath obliterated Tias tempest, but our attack remained intact.
FOOOOOOO!
The creature raised its enormous arms, attempting to crush the light projectile with its hands. Yet, the black energy of the Power of the End consumed both its arms, turning them into black dust. Finally, the glowing projectile struck its chest, carving a massive hole through its body.
FOOOOOOO!
Nows our chance! Charge through!
[Leave it to me!] Noah Bryne roared.
With a sudden burst of acceleration, Noah Bryne zoomed past the wounded behemoth before it could recover. By the time it turned to pursue us, we were far beyond its reach.
Ha-ha! See? Theres no need to fight fair!
Toby really is incredible. Who else could come up with an escape route like this?
Aha It wasnt much
Dont be modest, boy. Your talents are impressive. Id take you on my crew in a heartbeat! Rebecca teased.
E-eh!? I mean, Im flattered, but pirates arent really my thing B-but Rebecca is stunning Toby stammered, nervously gulping.
Toby Have you learned nothing?
Even after all the trouble he got himself into during our adventures Tia and I exchanged weary yet amused smiles as we watched him wrestle with his decision.
But at the same time, seeing him act like this made me oddly happy. It felt like old times.
Ed, right now I feel like I cant lose to anyone!
Funny, I feel the same way although, to be fair, Ive never planned on losing, I joked.
Ugh! Thats so unfair! Fine, I felt that way from the very beginning too!
Hahaha, good to hear!
Hey, Im serious!
As Tia pouted, I turned my gaze forward and gripped my sword. Looming ahead of us, now visibly closer than ever, was the massive white spherethe supposed domain of God.
Lets see whose momentum takes theupper hand. Sorry, but were not stopping until we break right through you.
