“Why has he become like this?” Compass Carburettor expressed his confusion, “All he needs to do is just ram into people and teleport them to a few districts away. Even that would add to his concept and strengthen him. He still has enough power to do so, right?”
“If only things were that simple.” Truck-Kun snorted before focusing on the movie, cheering for the villain there that rammed the protagonist with a car.
“Remember your Punisher Lightning?” Gehera said, “Stencil has been focused on that, modifying it into a flame that inherently protects everyone in this world, including the world itself.”
“Anything foreign would be burned to cinders. And the energy for this is also sourced from the sun, so the natives of this world can constantly erupt with the attack unconsciously. This power protects them all the time.” She spoke.
“Hmm, what about during the night? And what of the people that aren’t Heroes or Villains?” Compass Carburettor asked next.
“The moon absorbs energy from the sun and reflects it, right?” Gehera said, “It’s the same here, but Stencil has strengthened that to be at a decisive level. Moreover, when it’s night on one side, it’s still day on the other. So, in cases of a System trying to enter someone’s body, the world itself would respond to burn the invader.”
“And, even the common people have the same powers as a Hero or a Villain.” Gehera said, watching Compass Carburettor’s eyes lit up in surprise, “Yes, as the majority of the people are commoners, most of the generated Mental Energy consists of common things. And these things too are used by the world.”
“And the resultant entities fuse with suitable people among the commoners. It doesn’t have any other function than to maybe slightly enrich the person’s daily life. But, its primary power lies in annihilating all external factors, preventing a System from taking over him.”
“And,” She pointed at Gehera, “All external abilities too are resisted by them to a great extent. This was why when Truck-Kun tried to teleport a commoner, his power failed. The target resisted it.”
“I see, so this resistance plays a primary role in maintaining Stencil’s supremacy.” Compass Carburettor nodded as he stared at Gehera, “This was why you were unable to help Truck-Kun?”
“Yeah,” Gehera nodded, “Also, Stencil has been focused on this resistance and has been working extensively on strengthening it. The world has also been encoded with it to naturally strengthen the resistance over time.”
“Upon seeing how tough it was for you to use Spirit Morph in Magister’s Genre Representation, Stencil took inspiration from it and used your Punisher Lightning to achieve that.” Gehera sighed, “So, it’s troublesome.”
“It’s not troublesome. Rather, it’s amazing.” Compass Carburettor let out a content smile, “My daughter has grown.”
“Are you kidding?” Gehera flailed her hand, tripping some junk from a nearby pile, raising dust as she covered her nose while shouting, “If nothing is done regarding her collective consciousness, the situation wouldn’t change.”
“You’re wrong about that,” The sphere began to morph, taking on a humanoid form, “The collective consciousnesses are an inherent part of her power now. Instead of trying to get rid of them, the beneficial way is to bring them under my daughter’s command. After all, Stencil has done a splendid job in accommodating my powers to create this power system.”
“W-Wha…what is up with that appearance?” Gehera stuttered as her face turned beet red.
A ripped body, muscles perfectly chiselled down to the finest tissue strand. A wide shoulder and a streamlined body, accentuated by the sharp jaw and wide facial features. And most of all, the fiery hair akin to flames, ones that danced like real fire.
His eyes shot open, revealing two revolving suns in the place of eyes.
Unknown[?]—Compass Carburettor!
There was barely any trace of his original appearance. Even his character seemed to have changed a lot, accentuated by his facial features. After all, with him capable of morphing his body in any form as he desired, his humanoid self mimicked his mental state the closest.
‘It definitely isn’t the old Compass.’ Gehera thought, gawking as she was rooted to the spot, unable to react until Compass Carburettor was right before her.
“You…aren’t angry at me, right?” Compass Carburettor asked, tilting his head to the side, sporting an inquisitory gaze.
“No…why would I have that?” Gehera stammered, still reeling from her fluster, her eyes darting all over the place, having lost her composure, ‘He was already handsome before. But now, he’s…damn alluring.’
“Well, it’ll be fine then.” Compass Carburettor nodded and gently picked up Gehera’s right hand before placing it on his chest, “What do you feel?”
Thump! Thump! Thump!
Intense reverberations resounded from his chest, causing her to fall into a daze the more she heard it.
Compass Carburettor snapped his finger, bringing her back to her senses before asking, “Try to steal my power now, will you?”
“Are you…sure?” Gehera asked, averting eye contact.
“Yup, go ahead.” Compass Carburettor nodded casually.
“If you say so,” Muttering as such, Gehera activated her Ruin of Amagoth, intending to siphon Compass Carburettor’s power when suddenly, her expression morphed, solemn as she increased her power.
Crackle!
Faint lightning sparks flickered beneath her palm before her hand was repulsed. Gehera stared at her hand in shock, observing faint burn marks, feeling mild numbness as she activated the power of a totem and healed herself.
She looked at Compass Carburettor in surprise, “How is this possible?”
“I’m unable to steal your power.”
“Now you see,” Compass Carburettor grinned in pride, “My daughter embarked on the same route as me. This resistance you spoke of that the natives of this world possess, that’s definitely my daughter’s plan.”
“She hasn’t been waiting for me like a damsel in distress.” He laughed, “She has factored our interference in her calculations and is planning long-term for after she gains complete control over her body.”
“Fine, she’s smart, I admit that.” Gehera rolled her eyes, “But, what are you planning to do about her situation?”
“Leave that aside for a moment. As you said, Stencil is planning to wage war in six months. She has probably chosen a universe under the control of a Grade 2 System or something. There’s still time to save my daughter. But first,” He exited the room to arrive at the kitchen, “We need to know what’s up with this guy.”
The two arrived at a halt at the kitchen entrance, gazing with embarrassment to see a group of adults fighting over a single piece of tomato as if it was the most precious object in the entire world.
