I understood the general outline of the game tournament, but I couldnt help being curious about the so-called commemorative prize given to the winner.
Knowing Alice, I doubt its something Id genuinely dislike
Incidentally, the commemorative prize for the winner is this trophy-style ornament!
Hmm~~ Ah, thats the necklace Kai-chan always wears!
Exactly. Since this is a tournament commemorating Kaito-sans birthday, the trophy is designed with the necklace he always wears. Well, this necklace isnt a magic item, its just an ornament, so it doesnt actually use any magic crystals.
I see, thats the approach they took What Alice pulled out was a trophy with a design that enclosed the black magic crystal necklace I always wear, the one I got from Kuro, inside a crystal-like cylinder.
That necklace really is something I wear all the time, so in a way, it could be said to symbolize me.
It seems like I didnt need to worry, and feeling relieved, I listened as Alice continued explaining. It seemed that aside from the actual tournament, there were also game consoles set up for practice, so if someone was nervous about jumping straight into the competition, they could warm up first and then join from the second tournament onward.
As I watched the recruitment for the first tournaments participants after the explanation ended, peoples personalities really started to show. For example, Frea-san and War Kings Subordinates were quick to sign up for the first round, seemingly with a lets just give it a shot attitude.
On the other hand, the members of the Ten Demons and the Seven Princesses were mostly in observation mode for the first round, planning to join in from the second round or later Well, Blossom-san seemed pretty enthusiastic and joined the first one right away though
Still, seeing it all like this, the number of participants is pretty large. Unlike the time on the ship party, it seems that everyone who could even loosely be considered an acquaintance of mine is here, even if I dont have their contact info.
Its surprising how many acquaintances I have whose contact info I dont actually know. Especially among the War Kings Subordinates thanks to attending a few banquets hosted by Megiddo-san, Ive talked to quite a few of them before.
Many of them have those lively extroverted personalities who love fun, so while Ive had conversations with them at parties and such, we never really exchanged contact info. Still, a good number of them showed up, which adds to the headcount.
Also, people whove played on my game console and have experience with the game are entering the first tournament. Well, just because theyve played before doesnt automatically make them favorites to win
For example, Aoi-chan is competitive and skilled but she tends to prefer flashy, novel characters. The kind with huge wind-ups, super slow attacks that rarely hit, but when they do, they deal absurd amounts of damage, or glass cannon-types that are ridiculously fragile and require perfect dodging with invincibility frames, but hit like a truck and move lightning fast Anyhow, she doesnt go for the strong meta characters, but rather the stylish ones. So while shes good, her win rate isnt great when playing against me or Hina-chan.
Hina-chan, on the other hand, really dislikes slow characters and favors speed types. Shes all about aggressive offense, which makes her vulnerable to counter-type attacks, but when she grasps the pace of the match, shes insanely strong.
Amel-san sometimes leaves openings because she goes for flashy combos, but she also has by far the most playtime experience, so shes very strong. She just seems really happy to be playing with friends, so she often plays with me but honestly, she beats me about 70% of the time, so Id say shes a real contender for the championship.
Other than them, Tre-san has also played before but shes ridiculously bad at the game, so I think even someone whos only played a little could easily beat her. If she manages to win even one match, thatd be impressive.
Cento-san and Cien-san, at least when we played together before, seemed to still be struggling with the difference in senses, but if they manage to adjust to that, they could probably be pretty strong.
And then theres Lilia-san, who seemed like shed be strong. She shouldnt have ever played this game, but she picked up racing games and got to a high level really fast, so I feel like once she gets the hang of it, shell become strong in no time.
Still, overall, I think people with experience have a massive advantage. Its not just about being good at the basic controls, there are techniques that you cant really do unless you know about them. Like utilizing invincibility frames during air dodges, or moving behind someone whos in a guard state. So, at least for the first tournament its probably going to be Amel-san huh?
While I was thinking about all that, I happened to notice Kuro touching the magic tool used for tournament registration.
Arehh? Thats weird. Im pretty sure Kuros never played that game before but for some reason, I just had this intuitive feeling that Kuro is gonna get the overall victory.
Serious-senpai : [Speaking of which, you did play this game with Shiro, didnt you?]
Airhead God : [Indeed, our record was 1865 wins and 1864 losses, with me in the lead. In other words, I am the victor.]
Under King : [Thats only because Shiro said Lets end it here right after taking the lead!!! Even though I said so many times we should stop already]
Serious-senpai : [Wait, so you two seriously played that much]
