After Anne-san left, I turned my gaze toward the game tournament, and it seemed that the matchups for the first tournament bracket had been decided and started. It looked like the event was getting quite lively.

As expected, most people were struggling with the input lag, and many of them were playing the game for the first time, so there was a lot of chaotic energy, but that chaos actually made things more fun.

Of course, there were differences in how quickly people adapted. Some were flustered the whole time without getting used to the game at all, while others started off awkward but gradually got the hang of it and managed to control their characters decently by the second half.

Since you mentioned it, I took a look at Lili-tan too, and shes really good~~ Her movements are clearly on a different level, and it wouldnt be surprising if she won this tournament Ahh, wait, something just burst from the ground and sent her flying.

That stage hazard is supposed to spawn randomly across the map, but for some reason, about 80% of them are appearing right under Lilia-sans character. Well, even with that, her raw skill is so high that I think shell still win this block

Lilia-san, as expected, was playing extremely well. Considering her experience, shes probably far above Eul. However, like Alice mentioned, for some reason, all the stage hazards seemed to be targeting her. She kept getting interrupted mid-combo, so she wasnt completely dominating the match Honestly, its baffling how shes getting focus-fired by the map itself like it hates her W- Well, I guess the map selection is random, and on a stage without hazards, Im sure shed be way stronger.

Listening to Alice and Fate-sans commentary, I continued scanning the matches and yep, Amel-san clearly stood out. While others were still battling it out, she had already won her block and advanced, making her a strong contender as the overall champion.

But hmm. I cant help but wonder about Kuro Lets see, Kuros match is Arehh? Looks like shes over at the practice corner, giving Raz-san and others some coaching? Is she not participating in the tournament?

Just as I thought that, I noticed a large monitor above the magic tool displaying the tournament bracket. It showed the names of the winners from each four-person block, and at the very top was Kuros name.

Wait, she beat three people in 23 seconds!? Eh? I- I mean, sure, its technically possible to instantly defeat opponents. Rather than stacking up damage, if you knock them out of the map, you can end the match quickly.

However, to ring someone out without much damage built up, you need precise techniques to block their recovery options.

Theres a technique I think I could pull off if I tried, but to execute it, you need more than just good control skills, you have to understand each characters traits too.

If you dont know how your opponents character recovers, you cant time your attacks to intercept them properly. Its not something you can pull off with just raw instinct or dexterity.

Im really curious to see how Kuro fought Hmm, the first round should be wrapping up soon, and the second round will start, so Ill check it out then.

Curious about how Kuro would fight, I paused spinning the garapon lottery wheel and turned my attention back to the tournament. The winners of the first round were once again grouped into sets of four by the magic tool, and the second round began.

Kuro ended up in the same block as Lilia-san, and the map chosen this time had no gimmicks logically, that shouldve given Lilia-san a significant advantage.

However, right from the start, the two players who had made it through the first round thanks to favorable matchups were quickly eliminated, leaving just Kuro and Lilia-san in a one-on-one showdown. And Kuro steadily pushed Lilia-san into a corner, completely dominating the fight.

Isnt Kurorin way too strong? Shes barely taken any damage at all.

Thats the kind of movement you only see from someone whos mastered the game. Also, the character shes using is a high-level technical character

Exactly. The character Kuro was using was definitely an advanced one, featuring a unique ability:.

If you defend at the perfect moment, you activate , which negates the usual whittling of your shield entirely. Normally, even when you block, your shield still takes damage, but with a successful , theres none of that. In exchange, the character has the lowest DEF in the entire roster, meaning that even light attacks deal massive damage if they connect. Its a very high-risk, high-reward character.

Whats more, by landing multiple , you build up a special gauge that lets you unleash the powerful ultimate attack. Basically, unless you can press the Guard button with perfect timing against enemy attacks, you cant use this character effectively at all. Its an extremely difficult character to master.

The timing for a is brutally precise; honestly, I have no confidence that I could handle that character myself. But if you do manage to master it, it becomes ridiculously powerful, so much so that there were even top-level players in official tournaments who chose this character.

In the end, Kuro continued to overwhelm Lilia-san from start to finish, securing victory in the second round. Seriously though, the way she played looked like someone who had spent an insane amount of time mastering the game but where did she even get that much practice?
