Chapter 2469: Movie Watching with Kaori

At Kaori-sans request, we moved to the capital of the Archlesia Empire. The teleportation point I have registered is a plaza a short distance from the imperial castle. Walk straight down the main avenue from here and youll reach the castle; head off in another direction and youll quickly arrive at the upscale shopping district where the pet-related shops I frequent are located. Its a place with excellent access all around.

[Lately, it feels like weve been coming to the Archlesia Empire quite often.]

[Yeah. youve kind of been bullying Archlesian nobles recently.]

[N- No, I wouldnt say bullying I think?]

[If even the person himself doesnt sound confident, then that pretty much answers it.]

I cant deny it very strongly, everything involving Marie-san lately has unquestionably been my fault. I did apologize to her and gave her some clothes as a present, which made her happy, so that eased my mind a little, but theres no doubt its still been rough in various ways. If I get the chance, I should probably do something again

[The Archlesia Empire really does get a bit chilly around this time of year. Its not quite winter yet, but compared to Friendship City, the temperature is lower.]

[Yeah, it definitely feels different from Friendship City.]

As for me, thanks to Shiro-sans blessing, my body is kept at a comfortable temperature whenever its extremely hot or cold. Still, at this current how should I put it, temperature that feels like the transition from summer to autumn, I can sense it normally.

Compared to Friendship City, its a little cooler. If the Friendship City still retains a summer climate, then the Archlesia Empire feels like its fully in autumn.

[Oh, that reminds me, Kaori-san, would you like to go see Chris-san? Of course, that would be after checking Chris-sans schedule]

[Hmmm. If we can meet, Id like to at least see her once, but Chris-san is the Emperor and must be busy, so on short notice it might be Ahh With Kaito-kun here, then maybe itll work out somehow Hmm. Lets ask about Chris-sans schedule, and if she has some leeway, Id be happy to meet her for a bit.]

If I were to ask directly for time, Im sure Chris-san would force her schedule open for us. But that wouldnt really be what either Kaori-san or I want, so for now, we decided to check Chris-sans availability through hummingbird and only go see her if she truly has time to spare.

Well, Chris-san is sharp, so if I send a hummingbird asking about todays schedule, she might figure things out immediately Still, if I phrase it indirectly, she should grasp our intent and let us know if its inconvenient.

[Ah, we got a reply. It looks like a meeting ended a little while ago, and she has a bit over an hour free. Ill let her know our situation and ask if shes available to meet.]

Since she happened to be free right now, I told her that I was with Kaori-san and asked if a brief greeting would be possible. Chris-san kindly replied with an OK, so we headed toward the imperial castle together.

[By the way, Kaori-san, you were summoned to the Archlesia Empire, right? Was the imperial castle where you stayed first?]

[Unn. After briefly greeting the Emperor at the time, Chris-san explained a lot of things and prepared a room for me inside the castle. Though, I set out on a pilgrimage pretty soon after, so I only stayed there for about 10 days.]

[That was the Emperor before Chris-san, right? From what Ive heard secondhand, his reputation doesnt seem very good.]

[Hmmm, Im not sure. I barely spoke with him, so I dont really know. But I did get the sense that he looked down on commoners, maybe?]

As for the Emperor before Chris-san, from everything Ive heard so far Chris-san called him like a pathogen infecting the nation, Risti-san called him a petty villain with a timid heart, and Megiddo-san outright called him trash. It seems hes someone getting absolutely trashed by everyone.

[I hear Chris-sans reputation is extremely good.]

[Apparently, its gotten even better lately. Ive heard that the entire Archlesia Empire is booming economically, and that Chris-sans leadership is being praised to the skies.]

[Hehh. I have heard that shes been implementing all sorts of policies and being called the Wise Emperor, so I guess those efforts are really bearing fruit.]

I remember that when I met Risti-san before, she said something along the lines of how the Archlesia Empire as a whole was on an upward trend, and that they wanted to make it a sure thing and push straight into a full economic boom. The fact that this has been properly realized is something you really have to admire.

[Well, when it comes to the biggest trigger behind the Archlesia Empires economic boom, I think things like the God of Fates Divine Protection, or the Supreme God attending their Founding Festival, played the largest role]

I see, so this is another case where Im the cause N- No, but Chris-san was already working hard to bring about an economic boom in the first place, and all the stuff involving me was just a tiny little push in the right direction Couldnt we just leave it at that? I- I dont think anyones actually suffering because of it Errr, lets see, I think there should still be about two tins of tea that helps with stomachaches left in my magic box
