Chapter 2504: Intermission: The Events a Little While Ago

If you asked what the trigger was, it was a chance encounter. After having Elise-san recommend some coffee beans to me, I figured I might as well ask Ozma-san for his recommendations too, so I went to see him.

There was nothing particularly unusual about that, I simply got some suggestions for coffee beans and recommended shops, and was thinking of stopping by one on my way home when I ran into Kong-san completely by coincidence.

Well, Kong-san is a Beast-type Demon, fur all over his body, so in that sense, an exclusive brush might suit him but he doesnt really seem like the type to care much about grooming or beauty Could it be hes more particular about it than he looks?

[I think so. They even have brushes for Dragons, so Im sure theres one suitable for your build as well, Kong-san Though, are you particular about the gloss of your fur too?]

[Hmm. Personally, I dont really care either way. But, you know, Im one of the War Kings Five Generals Sometimes I have to accompany the Boss to formal events and stiff gatherings. At places like that, even Ozma-aniki dresses sharp. The Boss and aniki keep telling me I need to watch myself daily so I can present myself properly when the time comes.]

[Ahh, I see. If youre attending as a distinguished guest, then you definitely need to look presentable.]

It seemed that, just as Id thought, Kong-san himself didnt particularly care about grooming, but given his position, there were aspects he couldnt afford to ignore.

[And the Boss also tells me to properly adjust my magic power permeation rate but Im not great with that kind of fine magic power control. I still struggle with it a lot. But with that brush, itd make the adjustments easier, right?]

The president of the Victor Trading Company and the monster scholar there probably know that I purchased exclusive brushes, but whether whoever reads the letter at the trading company would immediately understand if it was introduced as my recommendation is uncertain, so I thought it would be better to go through Cornelia-san first and told him so. Kong-san readily agreed, giving me a bold thumbs-up along with his response.

The day after that exchange with Kong-san, I found myself discussing the exclusive brush again, this time in a completely different place. My conversation partner was Gluttony-san. Since our first meeting, she has invited me for tea every few months or so, and this time was no different; I had come to the subspace where she resides.

Well as usual, the tea and sweets were exquisitely terrible in a very delicate way. Still, Gluttony-san looked genuinely happy that I had come, so a bit of bad flavor was hardly an issue.

Even with her peculiarities, she had helped me out several times, during the Harmonic Symphony, the ship party, and other occasions, so I was more than willing to keep her company to this extent. Besides, perhaps out of consideration for my schedule, she only invited me occasionally which makes her far more reasonable than Makina-san, who shows up about five times a week.

I see If it is a brush personally used by Miyama Kaito-sama, then I would very much like to acquire one as well.

[For your Dimension Beasts, you mean?]

Indeed. Many Dimension Beasts are biologically close to monsters, and some have fur or horns.

Since no one else was present at the moment, Gluttony-san, still in her plushie form, was speaking freely, clearly intrigued by the exclusive brush.

Thinking that, I gently patted the head of a Dimension Beast that had wandered near my seat a dog-like creature whose face looked as though half of it had been melted away by some powerful acid. Its texture was squishy, almost like slime, but this dog-like one did have fur.

Perhaps happy to be petted, it rubbed its squishy face against me. The gesture was perfectly dog-like and even adorable. Its face was almost pure horror, but once you got used to it, it didnt really bother you that much.
