Chapter 2612: Demon Realm Amusement Park

The challenge waiting in the room they reached was a Rubiks Cube. Moreover, it was the type where the difficulty of the next room changed depending on how quickly you cleared it Solving a Rubiks Cube happened to be one of my few special skills, so clearing this should be no problem.

[Hmmm, looks like Body Reinforcement, Thought Acceleration, and even Space-Time Magic are disabled in this room huh?]

That appears to be the case. It is likely a measure to ensure the challenge is carried out under conditions as equal as possible.

Apparently, this room was designed to nullify what could be called Buff-type Magic. Well, that was only to be expected.

For example, if you could manipulate time with Space-Time Magic, you could clear it instantly. And being able to use Thought Acceleration would create far too much of a gap between those who could and those who couldnt.

When I had my match with Megiddo-san before, Fate-san had been doing live commentary alongside Alice, so she apparently remembered that I was good at solving Rubiks Cubes.

Of course, I had intended to handle this challenge from the beginning, so I simply nodded at Fate-san, who entrusted it to me with a smile, and stepped in front of the pedestal.

The timer started the moment you picked it up, so while I couldnt see the pattern on the bottom face, as long as I could see the other faces, it was easy enough to deduce what the remaining side looked like.

Actually, seeing just two or three faces was usually enough to figure out almost the entire solution. This arrangement this combination Itll probably take a few more moves than usual, so around 18 seconds, maybe? If I can move my middle fingers quickly and precisely enough, I might even make it into the 10-second range Alright.

After spending about 20 seconds working out the solution and memorizing the sequence of moves in my head, I took a deep breath and picked up the cube. I seemed to be in perfect condition today, my hands moved astonishingly smoothly without the slightest hesitation as I solved the Rubiks Cube Ah, this I might actually set a new personal best

I solved it so smoothly that I was convinced of it. After placing the completed cube back onto the pedestal, I looked at what appeared to be the timer, and it displayed 9.53.

Y- Yes! I finally did it! My first sub-ten-second solve! Id always dreamed of pulling it off someday but to think itd happen here

Indeed. I had no idea Kaito-san possessed such a talent.

If Id been alone, I wouldve shouted in triumph. As it was, I held it in and settled for a fist pump with one hand.

Sub-ten seconds. The dream of breaking 10 seconds This feels incredible. Sure, the very best solvers back in my old world were operating on the level of three-second solves, so I wasnt anywhere near that, but if Id managed to break ten seconds, then even if I couldnt call myself one of the absolute best in the world, I think it was fair to say my skill had reached a world-class level.

[Ooh~~ Amazing, Kai-chan. Werent you faster than when you did it against the War King before?]

[Yeah. I was in incredible form this time and set a new personal best. Its my first time ever breaking 10 seconds.]

[Hehh, thats great. Congrats~~]

[Thanks. With a time like this, I think the next rooms difficulty shouldve dropped all the way to the lowest setting.]

I thanked Fate-san with a smile as bright as hers and replied. There was no way the conditions would be something absurd like needing to solve it in under five seconds, or only lowering the difficulty to the minimum if you achieved a world-record-level time.

Even if this was a hidden route that was supposed to be more difficult, there was no way itd demand top-tier ability in a specialized field like that. Id guess the threshold was probably around 30 seconds no, more likely anything under a minute would be enough to reduce it to the lowest difficulty.

[I handled the previous challenge, and Kai-chan handled this one So how about Konekone or the World King takes the next one?]

That sounds reasonable. If the next rooms difficulty has indeed been lowered, perhaps it would be best to let Cornelia-san give it a try.

[Yes. If everyone is alright with it, Id like to take on the next challenge.]

[Then lets have Cornelia-san do the next one, and Lillywood-san the one after that. Of course, if it looks too difficult to solve alone, well work together]

Among the members of our group, Fate-san was by far the most exceptional in terms of raw ability, followed by Lillywood-san, then there was a considerable gap before Cornelia-san and me.

I had no idea how skilled Cornelia-san was at puzzles, but she seemed quite intelligent, so she might even be better than me. Solving Rubiks Cubes just happened to be one of my specialties

When we entered the next room There were puzzles mounted on three of the walls. They were the kind where you slid the pieces around to rearrange the image, and they were fairly large. Ah, no, there was one on the wall we entered through as well, and looking up, there was another on the ceiling, making five in total

There was what looked like a magic tool in front of each puzzle, so I guessed you were supposed to operate it to complete the large sliding puzzles.

Complete the puzzles within five minutes. Because the previous room was cleared in under one minute, all puzzles except the one you select will be completed automatically.

So it really was a challenge to complete sliding puzzles. At maximum difficulty, youd have to finish all five within five minutes, which sounded incredibly difficult.

This time, however, thanks to our score from the previous room, every puzzle except one would be completed automatically. That meant we only had to finish a single puzzle within five minutes, making the challenge significantly easier.
