With the enormous volcano in the center serving as an easy-to-identify landmark, Flame River Racing, which I expected to be the main attraction, had a rather spacious reception area at the foot of the volcano as well.

I could see a few people who appeared to be other invitees here and there, but it didnt feel particularly crowded, and we were able to reach the reception desk right away and receive an explanation of the attraction.

As the name suggested, this attraction was apparently a race, and up to 10 people could participate simultaneously, which was a perfect fit for our group.

As for the attraction itself, it was something like an individual race. Each participant would board a small boat capable of traveling up a river of lava a canoe-like boat in appearance, and proceed toward the summit while traveling through the lava. The first person to reach the summit would be the winner In other words, it was quite literally a race.

The boats were easy to operate. We couldnt accelerate or decelerate them ourselves; instead, the boats would automatically proceed toward the summit. Apparently, all we could do was move them left and right.

The lava paths leading toward the summit branched off in various directions, and apparently, which course you chose to follow would make a difference in the outcome.

[Also, along the way, there are three factors that will affect the outcome of the race. The first is the volcanic rocks that randomly fall from the summit. Of course, since they are illusions created by Illusion Magic, you wont be injured or anything, but if one hits you, your boat will stop for one second, so please carefully judge the timing and avoid them.]

Since this was a race where we couldnt control our acceleration or deceleration ourselves, it was only natural for there to be components like these traps. Otherwise, the outcome would be determined purely by luck in choosing a course wed never seen before.

[The second is these balls of wind displayed here. If you come into contact with one, your boats speed will increase significantly for three seconds. This is a useful ability, but please be careful when controlling your boat.]

And next was an acceleration gimmick This was another important factor that would affect the outcome, but a boat traveling at higher speed would presumably be harder to control, increasing the possibility of hitting obstacles. There might also be some placed in locations that were difficult to reach, places where forcing your way over to collect one might actually result in a loss of time.

[The third is obstacles. These come in various forms, such as rocks, walls, and monsters, but please be careful, as coming into contact with one will reduce your boats speed for three seconds. If you come into contact with obstacles consecutively, the duration of the speed reduction will reset with each contact, so please understand it as lasting for three seconds from the most recent contact. Also, contact between boats will be treated the same as contact with an obstacle.]

Finally, there were the obstacles. Unlike the volcanic rocks, they wouldnt bring us to a complete stop, but would instead reduce our speed From what Id heard, the race itself was fairly simple: avoid the volcanic rocks and obstacles while collecting the balls of wind to accelerate and make your way forward.

It seemed like Eta and Theta were glaring sparks at each other, but this was more or less just the usual If anything, the fact that they were trying to settle things through an attraction made them seem perfectly rational, so there didnt seem to be any problem.

Maybe because both of them had once served under the War King, but whenever they had a disagreement, they tended to settle it by competing against each other right away. So while they often got into arguments, once they had competed and reached a conclusion, neither of them would complain about the result, meaning it didnt lead to any lingering resentment afterward It was probably better to just let them have this level of confrontation.

In fact, Anima and Caraway seemed to share my way of thinking, as neither of them showed any intention of stopping the two.

Just as Hina-chan said, when it came to VR racing games, Lilia-san was overwhelmingly the strongest among this group. Her technique in particular was incredible; her cornering and other movements were on the level of a top-tier player at the highest level, so Hina-chan and I wouldnt even stand a chance against her without being given a significant handicap.

However, with this attraction, I had a feeling that those kinds of technical skills wouldnt create much of a difference The volcanic rocks fell randomly, after all, and it seemed like there were quite a few factors that depended on luck So if anything, I wondered if that might actually put Lilia-san at a disadvantage.

I dont know Hopefully, its just my imagination, but I had this strange feeling that volcanic rocks were going to rain down on Lilia-sans boat in particular, one after another.
