Chapter 2641: Re: Demon Realm Amusement Park

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

I dont know exactly what kind of evolution it underwent, but for now, since it explicitly stated that there was no need to worry about injuries or anything like that, we figured it should be fine and entered the reception area for the Shooting Gallery II attraction.

And as soon as we entered the building, I felt like I understood why there was no need to worry about injuries.

[I see, so thats how it works.]

[It is something were pretty familiar with, but basically thats what this means, right?]

Aoi-chan murmured in understanding at my words. The reason was that as soon as we entered the building, we could see a long row of mascot suits lined up farther inside.

Those mascot suits were similar to the ones used for the VR game I had received, which meant that Shooting Gallery II was apparently a competition held in that pseudo-VR space.

That certainly meant there was no need to worry about injuries, and if it was like a racing game, adjustments would presumably be made to things like our natural physical abilities as well, so we should be able to have a reasonably fair competition.

However, if I remember correctly, creating that VR space required a considerable amount of resources, and it had only been possible for the Six Kings Festival because they had unlimited access to materials But I suppose that aspect was also being solved by the Central Amusement Parks mysterious power source?

Actually, now that I think about it Maybe the concept behind the Magic Area was to use the Central Amusement Parks ridiculous power source to create attractions and facilities that would normally be difficult to realize with ordinary magical tools.

Well, I had only seen the Warp Portal and this Shooting Gallery II so far, so I could be wrong

As I thought about that, we received an explanation of the attraction at the reception desk. There was also something resembling a small booklet, and it contained detailed information about the rules, making them easy to check.

And the impression I got after hearing the explanation was that it was something like an FPS game played in a VR space.

The basic rule was that it was a battle resembling a battle royale, with each player fighting using three types of special magic staves They looked like guns, so Ill just call them guns, but anyhow, there were three types of guns to choose from.

When entering the VR space, each person would first be transported to a small room that served as their base. From there, they could choose whichever of the three guns they liked before heading out onto the field to fight.

Each player had a magical barrier, and taking attacks would reduce its durability This was essentially an HP-like mechanic. When an opponents attack reduces their durability to zero, the player would be forcibly returned to their base, where the magical barriers durability would be restored to maximum In other words, they would get taken out and respawn at their base.

They could also switch guns at their base, prepare themselves, and head back out onto the field Apparently, the attraction involved repeating that process and competing for rankings based on the number of opponents they defeated.

[When you think of it as an FPS, I feel like its easier to picture.]

[Hmm, Ive never played an FPS game before though.]

[Is it different from those gun games at arcades?]

I had barely played any myself, but Aoi-chan also seemed to have no experience playing FPS games, while Hina-chan didnt really understand what an FPS was in the first place and seemed to be imagining one of those arcade shooting games.

Still, if that was the case, it might be nice since wed all be able to compete under fairly equal terms.

Having decided to participate in the Shooting Gallery II attraction, we went to the mascot suit area set up farther inside and climbed into whichever mascot suit we wanted and were immediately transferred into the VR space.

The base was a simple room, with three types of guns propped up inside. There was a space where we could test-fire them, as well as a place where we could review the rules. A countdown to the start of the attraction was displayed in the air above the room, and it seemed the game would begin in three minutes.

There was also a full-length mirror in the room, allowing me to see what I looked like I was wearing a motorcycle suit and a full-face helmet, and my face and other identifying features were obscured. Even when I spoke, my voice sounded as though it had been passed through a voice changer, so apparently it was impossible to tell who someone was at a glance.

Well, otherwise, there would be aspects that made things unfair If we looked exactly as we normally did and could identify our opponents from a distance, then if I spotted Lilia-san, I would run away as fast as I could.

The guns used up magic power instead of ammunition, and there was a meter beside each gun that allowed us to check how much magic power remained. Magic power only recovered naturally over time, and there was no reloading, so we had to be careful about how much we had left.

I tried firing a few shots to check the recovery speed, and it seemed reasonably fast. As long as I didnt get carried away and fire wildly, it seemed like Id be fine.

Each of the three guns had its own characteristics Their shapes were different, but if I compared them to guns I was familiar with, there was one that was like an assault rifle, with a good balance between power, rate of fire, and magic consumption. Another was like a submachine gun, with low power but an excellent rate of fire and fuel efficiency. The last was like a bazooka: it couldnt fire rapidly, and its magic consumption per shot was by far the highest, but its power was overwhelming For now, I think Ill go with the well-balanced assault rifle.

According to the rules, every time we were taken out and returned to our base, we could change guns according to the situation, so Ill start with the assault rifle and use it to get a feel for things.

But still, Im calling it an assault rifle for convenience but it really does look quite a lot like an assault rifle Theres absolutely no way Alice didnt have a hand in these things designs

The Well-Balanced Assault Rifle : [I shall merely demonstrate perfected marksmanship.]

Serious-senpai : [Hes already setting up a flag]

? ? ? : [That well-balanced assault rifle is]

Serious-senpai : [The game hasnt even started yet!]
