Chapter 2647: Re: Demon Realm Amusement Park

After enjoying Shooting Gallery II, we played one more attraction in the Magic Area as planned, then finally made our way to the Dark Area, the last area left to explore aside from the Central Area.

The first thing that surprised me was how dim the surroundings became the moment we entered the Dark Area. It wasnt as though the paths became impossible to see. The paths and signs were clearly visible, but the entire area was somewhat dim If I had to describe it, it felt as though the weather had suddenly changed from a clear, sunny day to an overcast sky.

[This is amazing. The moment we stepped inside, it suddenly got dim.]

[The sky is still clear. But its dim Perhaps theres a barrier in place that causes this.]

[Isnt this definitely going to be scary?! I mean, theyre already trying to scare us just with the atmosphere, arent they?!]

Aoi-chan and Hina-chan responded to my mutterings in their own distinctive ways. Aoi-chan simply seemed interested, while Hina-chan was already visibly frightened from the very beginning.

That said, Hina-chan was the type who was bad with scary things, rather than someone who disliked them. She was the sort who would watch a horror movie all the way to the end despite repeatedly saying how scary it was. Although she was frightened, she also seemed interested.

[Now then, which attraction should we visit in this area?]

[If possible, Id like one that isnt too scary! Weve already done one scary attraction, after all]

[H- Hmm, I wonder which one?]

From Hina-chans perspective, she had already experienced a scary attraction in the Mirror Labyrinth, so she was hoping for something that wasnt frightening However, even after looking at the pamphlet, I couldnt really tell. As you would expect from an area called the Dark Area, most of the attractions had dark-sounding names, and it was impossible to tell which ones werent scary just from their names alone.

[I cant imagine what theyre like from the attraction names. Hina-chan, which one do you think would be okay?]

[H- Hmmm None of these names would seem out of place for a horror attraction, would they? Could it be that every attraction in this area is scary?]

[I doubt every attraction in such a large area is horror-themed. Though, I get the feeling there might be a relatively high proportion of them]

[Aoi-senpai, please choose for me.]

[Eh? Me?]

As it turned out, since the Mirror Labyrinth had been horror-themed, there was still a possibility that any attraction we chose would be the same. In that case, Hina-chan would probably find it easier to accept the outcome if someone else chose a horror attraction for her, rather than having to choose one herself and end up with a scary one. She handed the pamphlet to Aoi-chan, seemingly deciding to let her choose which attraction we would visit.

[Hmm, I think the attractions located near the center that occupy relatively large areas are probably the main attractions.]

[That makes sense. Based on what weve seen so far, that does seem to be the case.]

[Unn. So, lets go with this one in the center Undead World.]

[Isnt that going to be scary?! Thats definitely going to be scary!!]

The attraction Aoi-chan chose after being entrusted with the decision was called Undead World, marked in the center of the Dark Area on the pamphlet.

Judging by the pamphlet, it was a fairly large attraction, and it seemed almost certain to be one of the main attractions in the Dark Area.

[You dont know that, do you? It might look that way, but it could actually be a fun, fancy attraction.]

[If it has Undead in the name, thats practically a guaranteed sign that its horror-themed, isnt it?! Besides, cute and fancy undead would be some sort of doll horror, wouldnt it?!]

I understood what Hina-chan was trying to say. She was right that if it had the word Undead in its name, it was almost certainly horror-themed. There was a slight possibility that it might be something fancy and cute, as Aoi-chan had suggested, but if that were the case, there would be no need to make it about the undead in the first place.

I had no idea who would be interested in undead creatures redesigned to look cute and chibi-like, but I didnt think they would go that far just to subvert expectations.

Well, even if they were going to do something like that, theyd probably put it in a smaller attraction. This was the Dark Area, and the attraction was near the center, where it could be considered one of the main attractions Naturally, visitors would come expecting something horror-themed. At an amusement park that had put so much effort into promoting itself, I couldnt imagine them playing some strange prank with one of their main attractions.

In fact, up to this point, almost every attraction had delivered what we expected, either exactly as anticipated or even better than expected.

Still, there were different kinds of horror attractions, and this one might not be as frightening as Hina-chan feared. So I decided to point that out to her.

[Ah, but it might be an attraction where you defeat hordes of undead. Even if its horror-themed, it could be more like a panic horror experience.]

[T- Thats true No, but wouldnt that still be pretty scary?]

[Maybe its an attraction where you have to escape from a huge horde of zombies?]

[That sounds terrifying in its own right Ugh, but well, Im the one who asked Aoi-senpai to choose for me Alright! Lets go!]

There was no doubt that she was scared, but since she had entrusted the choice to Aoi-chan and let her decide, Hina-chan didnt seem inclined to back out. As if steeling herself, she clenched her fist tightly and declared that we should go.

Now then, what kind of attraction would it be? It certainly occupied a very large area, so a panic horror experience like a zombie game seemed entirely plausible.
