Chapter 2657: Re: Demon Realm Amusement Park

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

After the amusing little argument that showed just how endearing Aoi-chan and Hina-chans relationship was, it was decided that we would next visit a full-fledged horror attraction. After asking Alice which attraction was the scariest, we made our way there and, well, it was an attraction that looked absolutely terrifying just from the outside.

At first glance, the exterior looked like a large abandoned ruin, or perhaps a ruined fortress There were bloodstains splattered across the entrance and walls, and countless skeletons and what appeared to be animal carcasses, presumably fake, but incredibly realistic, were scattered about. The whole place had an overwhelmingly convincing atmosphere of being a horror-themed attraction.

[T- T- T- This place certainly has quite an atmosphere. A- Aoi-senpai, if youre going to back out, nows your chance, you know?]

[What are you talking about? This is the place Alice-sama recommended when I asked her for the scariest attraction. Anything less imposing than this exterior would actually be rather anticlimactic.]

Hina-chan was already deathly pale. It was almost as if I could hear her inner voice crying Weve come to a place we really shouldnt have. Aoi-chan, on the other hand, appeared perfectly composed at first glance. However, her voice was noticeably higher than usual, and she seemed to be forcing herself to act brave.

[Come to think of it, Lilia-san and the others seem perfectly fine with horror attractions, dont they? They dont look particularly frightened, even in a place like this]

[Thats right From my perspective, well, its rather like having a puppy bark at me, so it doesnt really]

[Indeed. If it were Milady, she could pulverize them with a single blow.]

Ah, I see. To someone like Lilia-san, Zombies and Skeletons werent really threats at all. From her perspective, they probably looked like insignificant creatures desperately trying to intimidate her, even though she could easily defeat them if she felt like it

Well, I suppose horror only really works when the horror itself is the stronger party.

It might be different if the opponent were someone you couldnt defeat, like when Theta was frightened of Wraiths, but most opponents wouldnt seem particularly scary when you could simply smash them head-on, even if they came charging at you

Lilia-san in particular seemed perfectly capable of beating down even Astral-types, so perhaps it really did feel like watching a puppy desperately trying to act threatening.

In that case, judging by our respective abilities, the only ones who would genuinely find this horror attraction frightening were Hina-chan, Aoi-chan, and me Well, actually, I wasnt particularly bad with horror either, so it wasnt much of a problem for me.

With those thoughts in mind, we entered the building. The first thing to greet us was a huge sign bearing a list of warnings written in bright red letters.

Please be advised if you are uncomfortable with horror.

Participation is not recommended for those with weak hearts.

Those with pre-existing medical conditions must obtain a doctors written permission before participating.

There are sudden scare effects. Please be cautious if shock may cause your magic power to become unstable.

Participation is not recommended for those who are uncomfortable with blood.

This attraction contains gruesome depictions. Participation is not recommended for those who are uncomfortable with graphic content.

Although the intensity has been reduced, participation is not recommended for those who are sensitive to the smell of decay or blood.

This is an extremely frightening attraction. Please participate only after acknowledging this.

The sheer number of warnings was almost excessive. If they went to such lengths to list all these precautions, this must be one seriously terrifying horror attraction Since there were warnings specifically about blood and graphic depictions, it might be a splatter-horror attraction.

[T- T- T- T- This is getting r- really e- e- exciting, isnt it, Aoi-senpai?!]

[Y- Yes, it is. W- Well, since they call it the scariest attraction, I suppose this much is only natural, dont you think?]

[I- I- I- Is that really natural? T- There are just so many warnings]

[T- The Mirror Maze focused more on the attraction aspect, and the Undead World we visited earlier was certainly startling when the Undead appeared, but it also had a rather comedic atmosphere S- So if this one is going to put horror front and center, I suppose it makes sense to have this many warnings H- Hina-chan, if youre scared, you really dont have to force yourself, you know?]

[Y- You should tell that to yourself, Aoi-senpai D- Dont come crying to me if youre so scared that you faint, okay?]

Aoi-chan and Hina-chans faces had gone beyond pale and were practically white. It was painfully obvious how intimidated they were by the sheer intensity of the warnings.

Even so, neither of them seemed willing to back down, so we headed over to the reception desk.

According to the explanation we received, this attraction allowed a maximum of four people to enter at the same time, and the next group would only be allowed in after a certain amount of time had passed.

As a result, we divided into teams as usual: me, Aoi-chan, and Hina-chan; Lilia-san, Sieg-san, and Luna-san; and Anima, Caraway, Eta, and Theta. Our team would be going in first.

Oh, and they also gave us some kind of emergency withdrawal magic tool. Apparently, if we became so frightened that we couldnt move partway through, using this device would summon a staff member to come and retrieve us.

Yeah, unn I had a feeling this was going to be seriously terrifying. But would Aoi-chan and Hina-chan really be alright?

Serious-senpai : [Kaito looks completely unfazed. Actually, he seems to have a pretty high tolerance for horror, doesnt he? Is it because hes mentally strong?]

? ? ? : [To begin with, even when Kaito-san looks at dimensional beasts whose mere appearance would normally trigger a SAN check, his SAN value doesnt decrease in the slightest. If anything, hes mentally strong enough to think they look kind of adorable when he takes a closer look.]
