Before she could finish her words, the space nearby suddenly twisted slightly.Swish!
A figure appeared out of nowhere on the grass, precisely the unconscious Luo Qingchen!
And on his chest, that small black Turtle Shell was quietly attached, emitting a faint, almost imperceptible glow.
“Brother Luo!”
“Turtle Shell!”
Lin Wan’er and Su Xiaowan exclaimed in surprise at the same time!
Lin Wan’er quickly rushed over and carefully checked Luo Qingchen’s breath and pulse. Although still weak, he was breathing, and his condition seemed more stable than when he was in the giant tower! She was pleasantly surprised to discover that a gentle yet powerful force was slowly healing his injuries from within, originating from the small Turtle Shell on his chest!
“That’s great! Brother Luo is okay!” Lin Wan’er cried with joy.
“My Turtle Shell!” Su Xiaowan also rushed over, carefully trying to retrieve the Turtle Shell from Luo Qingchen, but after several attempts, she found it seemed to have grown onto him, not moving an inch, and continued to transmit some kind of energy into his body.
“Hey! Turtle Shell! What are you doing? Come back!” Su Xiaowan poked the Turtle Shell, muttering softly, “Although Brother Luo is important too… you’re my treasure! How can you attach yourself to someone else so quickly? Falling in love too soon!”
The Turtle Shell remained unresponsive, diligently healing Luo Qingchen.
“Alright, Xiaowan,” Lin Wan’er wiped away her tears, showing a faint smile, “it seems the Turtle Shell saved Brother Luo and is healing him. Once he wakes up, it should return.”
Su Xiaowan pouted, though she felt a pang for her treasure, she understood the situation’s priority, so she temporarily stopped, moving closer to Luo Qingchen to carefully observe his complexion.
After confirming that Luo Qingchen was temporarily out of life-threatening danger, only needing time to recover, Lin Wan’er and Su Xiaowan finally felt at ease, collapsing on the grass, breathing heavily. A sense of post-crisis relief and extreme fatigue surged simultaneously in their hearts.
They took in the unfamiliar forest setting, which, while beautiful and full of Spiritual Energy, also held unknown dangers.
“Wan’er Sister, what do we do now?” Su Xiaowan leaned beside Lin Wan’er, her voice somewhat timid.
Lin Wan’er pondered for a moment, glancing at the still unconscious Luo Qingchen and Bai Ling’er, and then at the tranquil yet mysterious forest: “We can’t move right now. Brother Luo and Ling’er both need rest. Moreover, we know nothing about this place, acting rashly would be too dangerous.”
She stood up, heading to the tallest ancient tree nearby, looking up. Through the dense foliage, the deep night sky was visible, sprinkled with countless stars. The arrangement of these stars was entirely different from any Star Domain they knew, appearing exceptionally foreign.
“The star formation here… completely different,” Lin Wan’er whispered, further confirming in her heart that they had arrived in an entirely unknown place, possibly even outside their original world.
“First, find a secluded place to rest and regain strength, then wait for Brother Luo to wake up.” Lin Wan’er made the decision.
She helped the weakened Su Xiaowan up, carefully moving Luo Qingchen and Bai Ling’er to a spot near a relatively hidden, dry tree hollow surrounded by dense shrubs.
They simply tended to each other’s wounds, swallowing the few remaining ordinary Healing Pills, and then nestled together, vigilantly watching over their unconscious companions while seizing the time to conduct breath regulation for recovery.
The forest’s night was far from peaceful. Strange beast growls occasionally echoed from afar, rustling sounds whispered among the trees, unknown glowing insects fluttered in the air, and large mushroom-like plants emitted various colors of fluorescence. Everything seemed so novel yet full of the unknown.
At first, Su Xiaowan was nervous, listening intently to the sounds around, but too tired, she subconsciously tilted her head, leaning on Lin Wan’er’s shoulder, falling asleep with drool at her mouth, seemingly dreaming about something delicious.
Lin Wan’er looked at her adorable sleeping face, then at the steadily breathing Luo Qingchen and Bai Ling’er beside her, feeling slightly relieved. She forced herself to stay alert, her eyes scanning the forest illuminated by starlight and strange plants.
Just then, from the corner of her eye, she seemed to notice something move in the shadows of a distant towering tree!
Lin Wan’er’s heart tightened, immediately holding her breath and looking closely.
From the shadows, a small, snow-white deer with a pair of crystal-clear wings slowly walked out. Its eyes were as pure as the finest Obsidian, full of spirit, tilting its head curiously at Lin Wan’er, seemingly without malice.
Even more remarkable, on the deer’s forehead, embedded as if a twinkling star, was a tiny, grain-sized Crystal Stone.
Seeing this peculiar deer, Lin Wan’er’s tense nerves slightly relaxed. At least, this place didn’t seem entirely perilous.
The deer observed them from afar for a while, then gracefully turned around, disappearing deeper into the forest.
Lin Wan’er withdrew her gaze, gently exhaling. No matter where they were, surviving was all that mattered. The path ahead, they could only take it step by step.
Night deepened, starlight swirling.
The Turtle Shell attached to Luo Qingchen’s chest was dimming, its energy nearing depletion. Yet Luo Qingchen’s complexion had returned to a healthy flush, his breathing long and strong. The chaotic, shattered meridians and Chaos Origin within him, under the Turtle Shell’s miraculous power, were nearly entirely restored, even more refined and solidified than before!
Finally, as the last ray of light faded, the small Turtle Shell fell with a “plop” from Luo Qingchen’s chest.
Almost simultaneously, Luo Qingchen’s long eyelashes trembled, and his eyes slowly opened.
What greeted his eyes was an unfamiliar starry sky, along with the faces of Lin Wan’er and Su Xiaowan filled with surprise and concern.
“Brother Luo! You’re awake!”
“That’s great!”
Luo Qingchen was still a bit dazed, his last memory lingering on the Life Gate activation, his Divine Soul burning, consciousness falling into darkness.
“I… We got out?” he asked hoarsely.
“Yes! We got out!” Lin Wan’er nodded forcefully, tears glistening in her eyes, “It was… Xiaowan’s Turtle Shell that saved you!”
Luo Qingchen looked down, seeing the small black Turtle Shell dropped beside him, feeling the unprecedented fullness and stability within his body, a trace of astonishment and realization in his eyes.
He sat up, picking up the Turtle Shell and handing it to the eagerly awaiting Su Xiaowan.
“Here, your treasure.”
“Hehe!” Su Xiaowan snatched the Turtle Shell, lovingly wiping it and snuggling it against her cheek, “Good thing you have a conscience, coming back! Don’t casually attach to anyone else again!”
The Turtle Shell remained unresponsive, its appearance still simple and plain.
Luo Qingchen looked at Su Xiaowan’s penny-pinching manner, then at the unfamiliar surroundings, and Bai Ling’er, still slumbering but with a stable breathing cadence in Lin Wan’er’s arms, feeling a torrent of emotions.
They had escaped the Returning Ruins, survived, but a new journey and unfamiliarity were just beginning.
He stood up, stretching his body, feeling the more refined Chaos Power flowing within, his gaze turned toward the mysterious depth of the forest under the unfamiliar starlight.
“Where… is this place?”
