Chapter 1932: Southwest Direction, Qingyun Mountain Range!

Luo Qingchen briefly recounted his recent experiences, leaving the two women shocked and filled with lingering fear.

"Are those star map fragments still with you?" Lin Wan’er asked, as it pertained to whether they could find their way back to the Sect.

Luo Qingchen took out the five dark bronze metal fragments from his bosom: "They’re all here. We need to quickly find a safe place for me to recover, and then study these star map fragments to find the direction to Qingyun Sect."

"Yes!" Lin Wan’er and Su Xiaowan nodded in unison.

After the three from Qingmu Sect fled in a panic, Luo Qingchen and the others did not linger. Although the forest was vast, there was no telling if Qingmu Sect would return or summon stronger cultivators.

"Luo big brother, are you alright?" Lin Wan’er supported Luo Qingchen, her brows furrowed with a hint of concern. He had just forcefully activated the Chaotic Power, though it deterred the opponents, his face paled significantly.

Luo Qingchen waved his hand, indicating it was not a big deal: "I’m fine, just a bit exhausted. We need to find a completely safe place as soon as possible, I need time to recover, and meanwhile, study those star map fragments."

Su Xiaowan eagerly affirmed: "Yes, yes, yes! Luo big brother, you quickly take a good rest! Leave finding the place to me! My nose is really sensitive!" As she said this, she amusingly sniffed around like an expert, drawing a smile from Lin Wan’er.

After wandering in the woods for about half a day, Su Xiaowan suddenly pointed excitedly at a cliff wall covered by dense vines: "Luo big brother, Wan’er sister, look there!"

As they parted the hanging vines, a deep cave entrance appeared. The entrance was not large, only allowing one to enter while bending, but inside was rather spacious, with decent air circulation, and most importantly, very concealed.

"Not bad, this is very suitable." Luo Qingchen nodded in satisfaction.

Upon entering the cave, Lin Wan’er carefully took out some insect-repelling herbs and scattered them at the entrance and corners, while Su Xiaowan fetched a glowing crystal stone from her storage bag for illumination. The girl’s storage bag seemed filled with all sorts of oddities, always useful in critical moments.

Settling down the still unconscious Bai Ling’er, Luo Qingchen sat cross-legged and consumed several dark blue Spirit Water fruits. The cool and pure spiritual power dissolved and nourished his dried meridians. The Chaos Technique autonomously operated, slowly yet steadily absorbing the fruit’s energy and repairing the damaged essence.

Lin Wan’er and Su Xiaowan quietly acted as protectors nearby, not daring to disturb him.

Unable to stay idle, Su Xiaowan whispered to Lin Wan’er: "Wan’er sister, do you think Luo big brother will recover well this time? What are the star map fragments used for? When can we find the way back to Qingyun Sect?"

Lin Wan’er placed her fingertip on her lips, signaling silence, and softly replied: "Don’t rush, Luo big brother knows what to do. We can only trust him, protect Ling’er, and ourselves."

Su Xiaowan nodded vaguely, her eyes wandering to the dark bronze metal fragments in front of Luo Qingchen, curious about these direction-guiding treasures.

Two hours later, Luo Qingchen slowly opened his eyes, a brief flash of sharp light in them. The Spirit Water fruit’s medicinal power had been fully absorbed, the Chaotic Power restored to about sixty percent, and his complexion much rosier.

"Luo big brother, you’re awake!" Su Xiaowan immediately approached, full of anticipation.

Luo Qingchen smiled slightly and picked up a star map fragment, addressing the two women: "Let me try to see if more clues can be gleaned from these fragments."

He laid out the five fragments in order before him, attempting to infuse them with Chaotic Power. The ancient runes on the fragments faintly brightened, then quickly dimmed, as if sensing something but unable to fully activate due to insufficient energy or incorrect method.

"Strange..." Luo Qingchen furrowed his brow, "These runes seem to require a more refined or specific energy for guidance."

Recalling the resonance Su Xiaowan’s Turtle Shell had with these runes at the core of the Returning Ruins, he looked at Su Xiaowan: "Xiaowan, can your Turtle Shell connect with these fragments?"

Su Xiaowan promptly presented the Turtle Shell she was holding dear. It was still dim, its cracks unhealed, clearly having consumed too much energy at the World Gate and yet to recover.

"Luo big brother, it seems... there’s no reaction from it," Su Xiaowan said disappointedly, fiddling with the Turtle Shell.

Luo Qingchen pondered for a moment, recalling the ancient sword intent sensed on the Swamp Hills’ stone wall and the "coordinate traction" information on the metal fragments.

"Maybe they need to be reassembled?" His heart stirred as he examined the fracture lines of the five fragments. Though neat, they varied in shape, not allowing simple assembly.

Lin Wan’er quietly observed and abruptly suggested: "Luo big brother, see the runes on these fragments, though not identical, they appear to all vaguely point towards a core. Moreover, their size and curvature could form an irregular circle, or perhaps... part of a star disc?"

Luo Qingchen’s eyes lit up at her suggestion: "Wan’er makes a good point!"

Following Lin Wan’er’s idea, he tried combining the five fragments in different arrangements. The fragments seemed to possess a peculiar attraction, producing a faint resonance when two correct breaks drew close.

After several attempts, the five fragments finally pieced together in a strange sequence, forming a palm-sized, irregular-edged miniature star disc. The seams between them pulsed with ancient runes, emitting a slight starlight aura.

"It worked!" Su Xiaowan exclaimed joyfully.

Luo Qingchen took a deep breath, cautiously infusing the miniature star disc with Chaotic Power once more. This time, the disc’s response was vastly different!

Buzz!

A soft hum emitted, the runes on the star disc instantly illuminated, as strands of faint starlight emerged from between the symbols, weaving above the disc to gradually form a vague, three-dimensional star map. Amidst the map, countless light points shimmered, with several dim star trails pointing towards a specific direction.

At the corner of the star map, near a relatively clear light point, a few ancient words appeared—"Southwest, Qingyun Mountain Range, three thousand miles."

"Southwest! Qingyun Mountain Range!" Lin Wan’er and Su Xiaowan simultaneously exclaimed in excitement.

Luo Qingchen also felt relieved, now having a clearer direction. However, the "three thousand miles," in the vast Cultivation Realm, was merely an approximate distance, concealing unknown numbers of mountains and dangerous crossings.

Moreover, the star map seemed incomplete, with many areas vague and indistinct, clearly needing additional fragments to complete.

At this moment, the star map suddenly flickered violently, as the forming starlight quickly dimmed, and the miniature star disc reverted to its original understated form.

"It seems activating this star map requires a substantial energy expenditure, and we still possess too few fragments." Luo Qingchen contemplated while putting the star disc away.

Su Xiaowan, however, was excitedly beside herself: "How wonderful! We know the direction! Luo big brother, when do we set off?"

Luo Qingchen, seeing her eagerness, couldn’t help but smile: "No need to rush immediately. Heading southwest for three thousand miles is a long journey, and we’re unfamiliar with this region, requiring thorough preparation. Plus..." he glanced at the still unconscious Bai Ling’er, "Ling’er isn’t in a state suitable for prolonged travel. Let us first rest here for a few days, I will return to peak condition, and then explore the surrounding area to devise a safe travel route."

"Yes, Luo big brother is right," Lin Wan’er agreed, "We’re new arrivals, and must proceed with extreme caution."

Though impatient, Su Xiaowan understood Luo Qingchen and Lin Wan’er made sense, so she obediently nodded. Her eyes twinkled mischievously as she suddenly leaned close to Luo Qingchen: "Luo big brother, when will my Turtle Shell be as impressive as this star map fragment? It rescued us several times before!"
