The moment Noah's body crossed through the shimmering barrier surrounding the blue planet, the Cultivation Citadel of The EarlyCreature, something fundamental shifted in the relationship between his existence and reality itself.
It wasn't pain, exactly.
It was weight.
His own power, that infinite wellspring of Mana that had carried him through impossible situations, that had defied the natural order of existence time and time again...it turned against him!
Or rather, it didn't turn against him so much as it suddenly remembered that it was supposed to follow certain rules, certain laws, and those laws were now being enforced with prejudice that bordered on malicious.
The Infiniverse became an anchor dragging him down.
The Principle of Perpetual Harvest, still settling into the fundamental structure of his being, became chains wrapped around every particle of his existence.
His Infinite Mana...oh, his beautiful, impossible, reality-breaking Mana, became the very thing crushing him toward the planet's surface with acceleration that would have made gravity weep with envy!
Noah spun through the atmosphere, unable to control his descent, watching the blue sky blur into green as the landmass below rushed up to meet him with enthusiasm.
BOOM!
His body impacted the continent with force that should have shattered continents, but the ground here was different- woven from concepts of cultivation and growth that made it simultaneously
yielding and unyielding.
The crater that formed around his impact was perfectly circular, as if the very earth had been prepared for arrivals exactly like this.
Noah lay at the center of the crater for a moment, simply breathing. Each breath was work.
Each inhale required conscious effort, as if the air itself had weight, as if oxygen had decided it would only enter his lungs if he asked nicely and proved he deserved it.
He pushed himself up slowly, muscles straining against pressure that came from everywhere and nowhere simultaneously. His legs shook- actually shook, as he forced himself to stand.
When had his legs last shaken from effort? When had standing upright been anything other than automatic?
Around him, through the haze of effort, he could see rivers of green-gold light flowing through the air itself.
Perpetual Harvest was abundant here, saturating the atmosphere
with potential that should have made him stronger but somehow only made the weight heavier.
It was beautiful and terrible all at once!
Oh!
CULTIVATION CITADEL - LEVEL 1 PRESSURE ENGAGED
Environmental Analysis:|
- Current Pressure Multiplier: 2x baseline existence
- Effect: All physical actions require 2x normal effort
- Effect: All existential authority usage faces 2x resistance
-Warning: This is merely the first threshold
- Note: Adaptation is the goal, not survival
Movement Status: Severely Impaired
Mana Circulation: 1% efficiency
Physical Capability: Reduced to 0.01% normal capacity
Advisory: Even minor movements will be arduous at current
adaptation level. Once full acclimation is achieved, when this pressure feels identical to normal atmospheric conditions, higher pressure
levels may be imposed
Noah read the prompts with eyes that watered from the simple effort of focusing. His hand, which he raised to wipe his face, moved through the air like it was swimming through honey mixed with
regret.
"So this...is what weakness feels like," he murmured, his voice barely echoing despite the effort it took to speak.
He had never felt so powerful and so pathetic simultaneously. The contradiction was almost amusing.
Here he stood, an Early Creature with Quintillions of Complexity and Purity, bearer of Principles, master of Infinite Mana...and he could barely lift his own arms without his muscles screaming in protest.
It was perfect.
HARVEST NOTIFICATION
Minimal Effort Detected - Standing Upright: 12 seconds
Reward: +0.000001 Quintillion Complexity
Reward: +0.000001 Quintillion Purity
Note: Effort translates directly to harvest in this environment
Note: All actions, no matter how small, contribute to advancement
Note: The greater the pressure overcome, the greater the harvest reaped
...!
Noah's eyes widened fractionally, and even that small expression of surprise required muscular effort that made his face ache.
Standing here, simply existing under this pressure, was advancing
him.
The weaponization of effort and harvest, indeed!
The illusory figure of RUIN/EDEN materialized beside him, her form
shimmering with blue-gold light.
"Master could attempt basic exercises to better adapt to the
pressure," she suggested.
"Push-ups, sit-ups, squats, running...all standard physical conditioning that will force your body to acclimate faster."
TRAINING RECOMMENDATIONS
Physical Exercise Options:|
- Push-ups: Force arm and core strength adaptation
- Sit-ups: Build existential endurance through repetitive motion
- Squats: Strengthen foundation and leg stability
- Running: Promote overall circulation and pressure integration
Additionally: Mana manipulation and Glyph utilization will face identical pressure applications. Conjuring even a simple fireball will require tremendous effort and controll
The struggle itself is the cultivation
Noah nodded slowly, the motion making his neck muscles burn. His existence pulsed with determination, and suddenly his upper body became bare, the simple act of dismissing his clothing taking more concentration than it should have.
His lower body was clad only in tight-fitting white-blue shorts that would have made Erikson proud, the kind of training wear that suggested serious intent without unnecessary embellishment.
His physique was on full display now...muscles that had been forged through impossible battles and cultivation that defied nature.
His torso was defined, and his abs formed ridges that could have been used as reference points for sculptors.
His shoulders and arms carried the kind of lean muscle mass that
came from actual functional strength rather than aesthetic vanity.
Under the pressure of the Cultivation Citadel, those muscles were visibly undulating, pulsing with power that was being forced to work
for every millimeter of movement.
It was glorious.
It was magisterial!
It was exactly what he needed.
Noah opened his mouth, speaking with tyrannical confidence that his
current state did nothing to diminish: "Let's have the pressure of the
fifth level." The silence that followed his declaration was profound. Even RUIN/EDEN seemed taken aback. The Infiniverse, that vast
consciousness that had been with him through so much, didn't
immediately argue or offer cautious counsel.
Instead, both replied in unison.
"Yes, Master. Be careful not to accidentally collapse the existence of
<>this body."
...!
The air around Noah began to buzz.
No, that was too simple a description. The very fabric of existence
surrounding him began to press, as if reality itself was being compressed, condensed, refined into something denser and more terrible.
PRESSURE LEVEL INCREASED
WARNING: CULTIVATION CITADEL - LEVEL 5 PRESSURE ENGAGED
Environmental Analysis:
- Current Pressure Multiplier: 10x baseline existence
- Effect: All physical actions require 10x normal effort
- Effect: All existential authority usage faces 10x resistance
- Effect: Molecular cohesion of physical body under extreme stress
- Effect: Existential integrity challenged at fundamental level CRITICAL WARNING: This pressure level is designed for beings who have already adapted to Levels 1-4. Immediate imposition may result
in:|
- Physical collapse
- Existential fragmentation
- Consciousness dissolution
- Permanent structural damage to cultivation foundation
Recommendation: Return to Level 1 immediately Master's Response: [REJECTED]|
The prompts appeared and were immediately dismissed by Noah's
will. He wasn't interested in caution. He wasn't interested in the slow, methodical approach that everyone else would take.
He was interested in results!
BOOM!
