The Sororis Prima registered it first. The Scales of Her Existence.
Not her Infinity, which was already gone. The Scales themselves, the structural framework of Vakochev’s arrangement that classified her as Ordovician Paleozoic, that defined the tier of her standing and the specific capabilities that standing conferred, that connected her existence to the broader arrangement of Observable Existence’s power hierarchy.
Something was eating them!
She lurched upward from the obsidian surface with a burst of her remaining Observable Force, pulling her Custodes with her, and looked down at the sea from a meter above its surface with the expression of a being who has just identified a threat!
The sea moved.
Not in the way water moved when disturbed. In the way that something very large moved when it decided to stop remaining still, the displacement of the sea’s surface originating from below rather than from any disturbance above, the ripples traveling outward from a central point that was rising with the slow inexorable patience of a thing that had been waiting below for a long time and had decided the waiting was complete.
THE Living Paradox rose.
The form was not the beggar-attired Erwin that had occupied prior appearances, and it was not the compact chthonic locus of the shadow configuration from Helheim’s depths. What rose from the obsidian sea was vast and many-limbed and fundamentally wrong in the specific way that beings who had passed through existential unraveling and emerged as something else entirely were wrong, their new configurations carrying traces of what they had been but rearranged into something that the prior configuration could not have produced.
Countless wriggling tentacles of obsidian paradox extended from the central mass, each tentacle moving in its own independent rhythm, each one carrying the flowing circulation of consumed Information through its length in visible pulses.
His many faces rotated through their slow configurations within the central locus, the dominant Schrodinger expression present but deeper now, the eyes behind it burning with the layered awareness of a being who had eaten considerably more than his original form had been built to hold.
He said nothing.
He did not need to. The obsidian tentacles that had already extended beneath the surface of the sea and wrapped themselves around the Sororis Prima and her Custodes without their awareness became visible at the moment of his rising, their presence suddenly perceptible to the two Gilded Ones as the invisible became undeniably present, the tentacles burning with the cold light of Information being drawn outward from the beings they held.
Above.
They raised their heads because something above had changed in the quality of the light.
THE Primordial Paradox descended from the upper reaches of Helheim’s space with the unhurried deliberateness of a massive obsidian titan who had not needed to hurry for a very long time!
His two curved horns swept back along his skull. His deep-set eyes burned with the ancient awareness of a being who had outlasted multiple iterations of Existence!
He looked at the two Gilded Ones.
"You all seem far from home."
His voice rolled through Helheim’s space with the heavy patience of something carved from old stone.
"My disciple there has already begun eating the Scales you sit on." He did not gesture toward THE Living Paradox. He did not need to. "Don’t make this difficult, okay?"
The invisible tentacles of Information circulation became fully visible across the Sororis Prima and her Custodes, the endless flow of their foundational Scales being drawn outward through the points of contact and pulled into THE Living Paradox’s consuming architecture, their Ordovician Paleozoic standing eroding with the slow thoroughness of a process that had been designed specifically to be thorough.
The Sororis Prima looked at THE Primordial Paradox with an expression that held incredulity and the beginning of genuine fear in equal measure.
THE Primordial Paradox simply waited!
His eyes were vibrant as he wondered just what THE Youngest had in mind with everything he was doing.
They all thrived on the unfolding paradox as infinite possibilities...he could feel them now spreading out across existence.
He knew their Observable Existence was changing in an unfathomable way, and onoy one being was the cause of that change the most.
THE Creature was gone.
The one who was left behind...seemed equally terrifying if not more as he now steered the fates of countless beings.
But in the grand span of it all...
"Ashes to ashes, dust to dust...."
He said such words as he throughly believed they would all come and go. One just did not know how long they would live, truly live, before they were gone.
But Gilded Ones...it seemed that THE Youngest would be steering them to their graves much earlier than any of them!
---
In an entirely different direction of Observable Existence.
THE Living Emotive floated in her Absolute Luxuria Ego of Infinity form.
The Ego had transformed her. Her hair, which ordinarily shifted colors with her emotional cycling, had settled into a single deep rose-crimson that did not change, the stillness of it more alarming than any of her prior color expressions because it suggested the Ego had given her a stability her ordinary state never permitted.
Her features carried the predatory grace that the Absolute Luxuria produced in Noah’s form, sharpened and precise, the beauty of something that had been refined past the point where beauty was a comfort and into the point where it was a warning.
She was manic beneath it regardless.
The mania expressed itself in her eyes, which moved constantly across the seven Ira Gilded Ones floating in a cluster before her, cataloguing and assessing and finding new things to catalogue, the eyes of a being whose processing capacity had been dramatically amplified and who had not yet finished processing everything available to her in the current situation.
Beside her, the massive armored form of an Apeiron floated with its front opened, the engineering presenting itself as a configuration she could inhabit, the specific fitting of an armor designed not for structural protection but for existential amplification. It waited for her.
The seven Ira Gilded Ones before her had glazed eyes.
Not the glaze of unconsciousness. The glaze of beings whose will had been removed from their operational architecture through the sustained application of the Absolute Luxuria Ego’s Quintessential Indulgence and Desire Consumption working together across the duration of their displacement and recovery, the two capabilities compounding against Gilded Ira engineering that had been built to be resistant to exactly this category of external influence but had not been built to resist it from a being wielding a full Absolute Ego expression rather than an ordinary Luxuria’s derived capability.
Emotive had stripped them of their cognizance and wills to deny her!
