Chapter 5539: Ordinary! III

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Dead Superpowered Lifeforms.

And in the middle of all of it, on his knees in the wreck of a garden, one of them was still alive.

A golden-haired man!

He was built like something that had been made on purpose, enormous through the shoulders and the chest, heavy with a muscle that did not look decorative in the slightest, his arms thick enough that the chains upon them had needed to be thick as well, and he wore the same white and blue as the dead around him with the sleeves gone and the chest sign burned half away, his hair gold and short and matted dark down one side, his jaw set, his mouth bleeding.

And he was staring hatefully up at the army.

Not with fear, and not with despair, and not with the shocked emptiness of a being who had watched everyone he came in with die, but with hatred, clean and enormous and moving from face to face across an entire army as it took each one of them in turn and held it a moment and then moved along to the next one!

And he gave off nothing.

Not one wave of authority! Not the smallest ripple of the pressure that even a Triassic Scale existence pushes out of itself simply by being present, and standing in a sky full of beings whose weight bent the land, this man registered upon the surroundings as approximately as much as the dirt he was kneeling in.

And he had killed two of them!

Two Infinite True Lifeforms, opened top to bottom, their Pantheons collapsed and their Infinity running out into the gardens, and this body that gave off nothing at all had done that, and that was why the army had arranged itself exactly like this, all of it, ten thousand Triassics and a hundred Mesozoics and six True Lifeforms, and that was why not one single being among them had come close enough to touch him.

They had chained him instead.

Rivers of blue chain wrapped him from shoulder to wrist to knee, and they were not metal, they were Infinity poured into the shape of a chain and set there burning, and worked through every link of them were Pantheonic Dimensional weavings of time that glowed along their length in slow pulses which ran down toward his body and never came back.

And with every pulse, he was being regressed.

His strength was being walked backward down its own road, hauled back through all the years it had spent growing into what it was and held down at a version of himself he had left behind ages ago and kept there, the chains adjusting constantly, tightening the instant the strength beneath them tried to climb, and he had been fighting them for a long time as his hands shook with the effort and his arms kept trying anyway, and it was not working!

And standing in front of him, at her leisure, was the one who had built them.

She was tall and unhurried, her gown made of layered threads of Infinity, pale and blue, the threads forever unspooling from her hem and spooling back up into her shoulders so that she was constantly rebuilding herself out of herself while she stood there.

Her hair was hanging to the backs of her knees in that same pale blue and drifting in a wind that was not present, and her eyes had no whites in them at all, while her bare hands were stained blue-gold to the wrist.

The Woman of Rivers and Ledgers- Ashkavaal, THE Second Breath!

And she crouched down into the ruined gold to bring her face level with his, and she spoke to him kindly.

"I hate your people so much."

"..."

"Your bodies give off no authority. None at all. I could stand beside one of you at a market and never know it." Her head tilted as the numbers turned over in her eyes.

"And yet you are this powerful. For what? Explain it to me, please, because I would truly like to understand the arrangement where a thing that weighs nothing gets to break two of my friends open like fruit." Her smile stayed warm.

"Just die already. Die, and give up what you protect, and every part of this stops today."

The golden-haired man said nothing.

"No. Of course not." Ashkavaal sighed and straightened up and brushed at her gown with those stained fingers. "Then let us talk about the two you killed."

She glanced back over her shoulder at the corpses, at the rivers of Infinity running down the terraces, and something in her face when she looked at them was almost real!

"For that, there has to be a price. And I have sadly already killed every Superpowered Lifeform in this garden, so there is nobody left standing here that I can take away from you." She turned back to him and the patience settled over her features again and her voice went light and pleasant. "So I will simply use what I have."

"..."

"I am going to raise them."

Her stained hand opened toward the scattered white and blue bodies!

"All of them! Every one of your people lying in this dirt! I will bring them back up as Gamaidjan Lifeforms, the Mad Infinite Dead, and they will not know you, and they will not know themsleves, and they will do exactly what I tell them to do." The smile widened by nothing at all.

"And what I will tell them to do is defile you. One by one. In front of everything gathered here."

...!

"And after I have grown bored of that," Ashkavaal said, "I will do the very same thing for every single Superpowered Lifeform I meet in this Dimension, every one of them, in every garden, for as long as it takes me!"

She leaned down toward him once more.

"Are you ready?"

And the golden-haired man looked up at her!

His eyes were wet and they were not soft in the slightest, the hatred in them gone somewhere past what a face is built to hold, and he looked past her at the corpses of his people lying in the light of their own broken rivers, at all those dozens of white and blue suits scattered across a garden they had died standing in front of, and he ROARED!

OOOOH!

It tore out of him without a shred of authority behind it, no pressure, no weight, nothing that the sky above him would even register as an event, just a chained man on his knees in a ruined garden howling up at ten thousand existences with everything his body had left in it, and the chains flared and pulsed and hauled him backward through his own years all over again, and he kept roaring anyway!

And the army laughed!

It rolled down out of the sky in waves as ranks of Triassic and Mesozoic existences found the whole thing enormously funny, the noise spreading back through formations that went past seeing, a hundred thousand beings enjoying themselves thoroughly at the excitment of what was about to be done, and Ashkavaal raised her stained hand toward the nearest body as she prepared to begin.

And at such a time....the skies above cracked.

CRACK!

They split from one end of the ruined gardens to the other as a white line opened straight across the top of the domain, and the laughter died in the throats of an entire army as something came through.

HUUM!

A massive white draconic beast!

Huge in a way that made the towering True Lifeforms in that sky look like things standing near a mountain, pure white, twin spiral ivory horns, a mane of white flame, wings spread wide enough to shade whole terraces, and gold eyes with ring inside ring for pupils!

And atop it stood three figures!

They came out of the split sky and drew up, and they looked around at the burning terraces and the leaking rivers and the shrine still shining blue-gold in all that smoke, at ten thousand Triassics and a hundred Mesozoics and six True Lifeforms hanging in their formations.

And then, together, they looked down!

Coldly!

Across that entire gathered army, heads turned upward, formations shifted, the laughter was gone, and down in the ruin on his knees in his chains the golden-haired man raised his bleeding face toward the split in the sky as his mouth opened slightly.

Who... the hell were the new entrants?!
