Chapter 5607: Your Most Favorite!

This chapter is updated by JustRead.pl

Mother!

Noah looked at this unique lifeform before him, and wondered just what her future with him had actually been. Mother. Not "your mother." Mother, the way a person says it about their own.

He felt the Provenance and the power rolling through his existence, eleven suns turning in his depths, and he nodded and turned to lead the way...

And Thalia hummed, and started walking.

She crossed the grass of his Realm without waiting for him, unhurried, her bare feet finding the path between the standing stones as though she had walked it ten thousand times, and she angled toward the distant doorway with the ease of a woman going home!

Noah followed.

"Causes," she said as she walked. "That is where we start. Causes are one of the surest protections in all of existence, because they do not require the protected to do anything at all. A being backed by Causes is simply harder to touch. The Causes stand under their existence, and anything reaching for them has to reach through those first."

"Yours are not Causes anymore. What you have covers you well enough, and they extend to Mother to a degree, because she is the Originator." She stepped over the river of light without looking down.

"But the others? Barely at all. Your daughter, your son, your people, the ones who eat at your table and sleep inside your home. If something reached for them tomorrow, most of them would have nothing beneath their existence but your reputation."

Noah’s eyes pulsed as he asked grandly...

"Is there anything more you can reveal so I have a better picture?"

"Its all because of him." Her voice cooled. "What I can say without paying too dearly is that something happened to the mind of THE Sealed One. Before he attained IT, his mind had seemingly... shattered."

"He now moves with different motivations depending on the vessel he is wearing. One will be reasonable. One will collect. One will burn a Dimension for the pleasure. Too many things about him are unknown, even to me, but two are certain. His main vessel is vindictive. And he is tying up loose ends." She glanced back over her shoulder. "You are an unfathomably big loose end."

Noah walked behind her figure as she moved through his own home like she owned a key to it, and he watched her dazzling red hair catch the last of the evening light, and the grace of how she moved and talked, that composure that never once slipped even while she bled...

And at this time, a voice spoke up in a heavy, cool tone.

"We got a baddie right beside us who obviously has history, and why ain’t we made a move yet? Just tap me in and let me do what needs to be done."

...!

Noah blinked!

The voice had come from the left side of his head, and it was HIS OWN voice, deeper and colder and entirely unbothered, and THE Provenance of the Closed Crown had actually spoken, arms still folded, crown of shadowed brilliance still turning, its grand eyes still closed!

And not a moment later, another voice echoed out from his right.

"All things happen in due time. She is obviously traumatized by whatever happened, and we are different from the man she later knows. Give her time. Let her acclimate."

THE Provenance of the Open Hand, cross-legged and calm, hands open on its knees, eyes closed as well.

Noah felt like he was going insane, and yet not, because this was not madness. This was simply listening to his own thoughts the way he always had, except now they were sorted, separated, defined out to their absolute extremes, and spoken aloud, loud and clear, by two halves of himself that no longer bothered to compromise before reaching him!

"Every time she looks at us," THE Closed Crown said, "her entire existence exudes how much she wants to come close to us. Our future self already did all the work. All that is left is for us not to drop the ball, and you want to kick the ball away?" A pause. "We can also use this as a chance to understand the anatomy of a genuine Provenance Lifeform."

"Our anatomy is what matters most," THE Open Hand answered calmly. "Do not rush a process. And think about her."

...!

His thoughts buzzed in his mind, and he was so focused on the argument happening at both sides of his own head that he did not notice they had left his Provenance Realm entirely!

The doorway had passed behind them, and the endless blue of THE Infiniverse had opened and closed, and now he was floating in the skies above a realm of harvests and abundance, golden fields rolling out beneath him under a warm sun, orchards heavy, rivers bright.

His mother’s realm.

Thalia turned back in the air to look at him, and her eyes went to the two small figures floating at either side of his head, and a mischievous, knowing smile spread across her face.

"Are you hearing voices in your head, my Provenance?" Her smile deepened. "You should listen to your tyrannical side more."

BOOM!

And she took one step and vanished toward the lands below, leaving Noah floating there astonished, as the voice of THE Closed Crown boomed out angrily beside his ear.

"I fucking told you."

"..."

With no words at all, Noah went down as well!

Below, on a vibrant cliff overlooking a radiant river, Amelia Osmont sat fishing with Seo-yeon.

Two rods leaned out over the water, catching light. A small basket sat between them. Seo-yeon’s legs swung off the cliff edge as she watched her line with fierce concentration, and Amelia sat beside her with the deep unhurried ease of a woman who had earned every quiet hour she would ever get.

Thalia appeared behind them. Noah touched down a second later.

Both heads turned, and Seo-yeon brightened up, dropped her rod entirely, and smashed into Noah’s chest with a hug!

"Aba, you have changed again!"

"I have," Noah said, smiling as he patted her head.

Amelia turned with a smile of her own, and then her gaze moved past him, and found the red-haired woman standing on the grass in a white-blue robe stained with dried crimson gold.

"...Who is this?"

And Thalia walked forward with her eyes full of respect and adoration, and bowed to Amelia Osmont.

"Hello again, Ama." She straightened, composed as ever. "I am Thalia Vasiliou. Your most favorite daughter in law."
