"Many Provenance Lineages across existence scour his Elsedimensions for what he left behind," Aurelius continued vibrantly, his eyes burning with ancient ambition.
"And many are entirely unsuccessful. It was theorized by our oldest predecessors that it has to be someone exactly like him. It must be someone who was not born a Provenance Lifeform, but became one. Only a being with that specific, impossible trajectory could find what he left behind."
The Patriarch locked his crushing gaze onto the stellar blue-gold figure of THE True Human Emperor.
"If you truly are someone like that, or if you hold even a fraction of a possibility of it, I can use my connections to hold off the Immense One that we made an agreement with many, many years ago. You have ruined my agreement and disrupted my Lineage today. I want something in return. If you can find any weavings or components of what Atlas left behind, it may be enough to give my lineage sufficient power to stand by ourselves. We are both burdened with glorious purpose. Let us see what we can put our purpose to use for."

Noah observed the prompts materializing in his vision. The biological and conceptual heat of the spring was steadily overwriting his baseline architecture.
He evaluated the proposition. It was a transactional exchange of sovereign weight!
The Vasiliou Patriarch offered existential and temporal shielding, and Noah was required to offer salvage from a dead engineer.
He looked at the towering, scarred man sitting in the golden lava. He did not feel intimidated by the volume of the Patriarch’s voice or the immensity of his aura. He was a tyrant sitting in another man’s throne room, completely unbothered by the owner.
"That is an interesting story," Noah said. "Your agreement was flawed because it relied on subordination. I do not subordinate. But I am also curious about many things."
Noah tilted his head, his endlessly blue eyes analyzing the pristine golden skeletons resting at the bottom of the spring.
"Are Immense Lifeforms all such dicks?" Noah asked clinically, delivering the profanity with absolute zero temperature!
"And why are they also called Those Who Remain? If they remained, they remained from what? Were there others who left? If they left to go, where? How many Provenance Lineages are there, and just what is the exact nature of their relationships with Those Who Remain?"
BOOM!
The questions struck the depths of the Vasiliou Elsemountain with staggering conceptual weight.
Aurelius stared at the anomaly before him. The Patriarch let out a harsh, booming laugh that caused the liquid gold to erupt in massive, scalding geysers.
"Are they all such dicks?" Aurelius repeated, his laughter echoing like thunder. "Power at that scale requires the absolute consumption of competing truths. They do not view reality the way we do."
The Patriarch leaned forward as the golden lava cascaded down his heavily scarred chest, his voice dropping into a register of terrifying, ancient history.
"To understand them, you must understand THE First Sundering. There was an era before this current continuum. It was a vast expanse where lifeforms reached an apex and came to grand and unfathomable realizations. The strongest among them exceeded any known Dimensionality. They shattered the highest boundaries of their existence as they became beings we can only imagine."
Aurelius raised a massive, dripping hand and pointed toward the ceiling of the cavern.
"The apex lifeforms who failed to exceed themselves in that grand Era, the ones who were too weak or unable to do what others like them did... They are Those Who Remain. Because they failed to attain power others like them in that era grasped. And after that era, it was an impossibility to grasp that power again. So many of them...dont particularly have good natures as they are effectively beings that failed. Many actually dont like the name ’Those Who Remain’ as they called themsleves Immense Ones. They have done many things since then. They locked the door behind the others to ensure no one else could ever exceed them. They built the rigid codes. They treat the continuum as...theirs."
Noah listened with shining eyes as many gaps in knowledge filled themsleves!
"As for the Lineages," Aurelius declared grandly, his golden aura pulsing with a mixture of sorrow and defiance. "There are approximately three hundred and forty-two recognized Provenance Lineages across the expanse. And our relationship with them is complex and highly fractured."
The golden waters thrashed violently as the Patriarch stood up, revealing his towering, muscular frame burning with apex authority.
"Some of the Immense Ones actually stemmed from certain ancient Lineages,"
Aurelius explained, his eyes locking onto Noah. "They maintain a twisted, elevated patronage over their people. Others treat Lineages entirely like playthings. They harvest our unspent Provenance and claim our sons and daughters to use whenever they require raw material. Some cull us to ensure we never generate enough combined weight to challenge their thrones."
Aurelius took a heavy step through the golden lava.
"And a rare few Lineages are treated almost as peers. They sit on a terrifying knife’s edge of mutual benefit, balancing their own unfathomable authority against the architects in a silent war of borders. We are navigating an ecosystem designed to keep us contained. In The Elsedimensions, we live...and we are contained."
HUUM!
The Vasiliou Patriarch stood entirely exposed in the blinding golden steam, his chest heaving as the raw, unfiltered truth of existence flooded the cavern.
Noah sat perfectly still in the bubbling lava. He looked at the exact count of three hundred and forty-two Lineages. He looked at the concept of the First Sundering. He looked at the locked door of existence.
He identified a human emotion rising within his pathways. It was an absolute, cold ambition!
’They locked the door now, did they?’ Noah thought quietly to himself, his endlessly blue eyes looking past the Patriarch and into the unwritten future. ’It would merely be a door that I am going to break down!’
BOOM!
