The grey conceptual rot of ETERNAL INSOMNIA beat against the fossilized coral walls of the cavern, a relentless tide of forced lucidity seeking any crack in the stone to pour through!
Noah sat in the center of the hollow slab, his breathing steady, his pupils fixed on the fragile creature resting upon his palm.
The mandate demanded that all things wake with endless exhaustion. It demanded an endless, blistered vigil that stripped away reverie and pulverized thought into ash. Against an ordinary existence, the phantom weight of billions of years of exhaustive sleeplessness would have burned out the thoughts within seconds.
Noah was not ordinary!
Within his chest, his blood surged.
Infinite Sanguine Mana roared!
It did not trickle or flow in measured streams. A boundless, crimson-gold torrent erupted through his body, cycling across his entire physiology at the speed of thought. Millions of cycles completed in a single breath, each wave carrying the unyielding vitality of his boundless reservoir. Whenever the cold, numbing exhaustion of the Fiend’s sentence tried to settle into his nerves, the crimson flood washed it clean, meeting infinite fatigue with infinite brilliance.
He was tired, the deep phantom ache of epochs still throbbing in the core of his foundation, but his immensity was inexhaustible.
With his vitality anchored, Noah closed his eyes and began to dream.
THE PRECEPT OF THE WAKING DREAM unfolded within his consciousness. He did not dream of an escape, nor did he dream of comfort. He dreamed an infinite dream of an unfindable domain, a sovereign vessel folded so deeply into THE SEAM that the gaze of an architect would slide across its surface without catching a single thread.
He drew upon his Provenance Essence. Blue-gold light welled from his fingertips, soft and deliberate, curling around the Common Dream Gu.
The small creature shuddered, its cracked carapace cooling as Noah’s dream insulated it from the ambient poison.
Atlas’s voice resonated from the illusory band.
Now, O Chance of Chances. The foundation is already drawn. Fuse the insect’s law to the core.
Noah did not hesitateas within his internal realm, nine golden droplets condensed from the unspent potential he had harvested, Distilled Cause Essence flowing down into his palm. He did not force the liquid into the Gu as food. He guided the golden drops into the seams of its translucent shell, letting the distilled potential fuse with its native concept of dreams.
The Gu’s heartbeat slowed, steadying as it drank the essence. Its small, pure dream of warmth and peaceful drift began to expand, shifting from a fleeting reverie into an engine that could generate its own localized weavings.
It was becoming an Elseengine.
|The elements,| Atlas said. |Strict order. Let nothing else touch the lattice.|
From his sovereign reserves, Noah summoned the eight pure particles of stellar matter.
Hydrogen first. A cold mist of primordial atoms wrapped around the Gu, setting the initial boundary of combustion.
Helium followed, stabilizing the reaction into an unbroken, slow-burning mantle.
Lithium condensed next, forming a light, resilient crystalline skeleton that bound the two gases to the Gu’s shell.
Outside the reef, the pressure of the mandate surged. The dark water of THE Tide churned as the Fiend’s sentence deepened its grip on the Chrysalis. The conceptual weight pressed through the coral, bearing down on Noah’s shoulders like an inverted mountain range. His teeth ground together as the friction tore at his ribs, but his hands never shook!
He took the pressure into his Telos of Adversity, converting the crushing hostility of the sky into fuel for his own concentration.
You endure the prolonged pressure of an Immense One’s sentence while conducting sovereign engineering.
Your foundation tempers under adverse weight.

PONDUS: 110 (+2)
Noah kept his focus locked on the microscopic architecture before him.
Beryllium layered over the lithium, establishing the rigid structural channels that would direct the internal space.
Boron integrated immediately after, absorbing stray conceptual heat and preventing the expanding interior from detonating the shell.
Europium settled into the lattice, a dense, glowing phosphorescence that gave the boundary its ability to absorb outside observation.
Strontium locked into the perimeter, lending structural memory to the metal so that no external strike could warp its shape!
And finally, Neodymium. The magnetic sovereign, drawing all eight layers inward with an inescapable, self-contained attraction.
The eight elements snapped into alignment around the Common Dream Gu.
HUUM!
The insect exhaled. A soft, golden breath rippled out from its multifaceted eyes, and the expanded lattice suddenly compressed. Space folded upon itself. The cavern seemed to tilt as thousands of leagues of conceptual volume collapsed inward, shrinking down, condensing into a dense, solid weight that rested quietly upon Noah’s outstretched palm.
The light cleared.
Resting upon his skin was a ring.
It was not forged of common gold or rough iron. The band was composed of deep, star-flecked obsidian intertwined with pale azure coral, its surface smooth as polished starlight. Orbiting within the interior rim of the band were eight microscopic planetary rings of elemental luminescence, turning in silent, perpetual motion.
At the ring’s apex rested a clear, amber cabochon.
Suspended within that amber heart, floating in peaceful, unbothered reverie, was the Common Dream Gu. Its translucent body was whole once more, pulsing with a gentle, golden glow, completely shielded from the horrors of the outside continuum as it served as the living heartbeat of the pocket dimension folded within the band.
Crisp prompts ignited across Noah’s sight!
SOVEREIGN ENGINEERING COMPLETED.
You have successfully forged a Provenance Elsedimension Relic.
Name: THE ENDURING GU ELSEDIMENSION RING
Heart: Common Dream Gu (Living Elseengine).
Classification: Tier 1 Gu Elsedimension Relic (Unique).
Inherent Boons:
+20 PROVENANCE, +20 VERITAS, +20 PONDUS.
Sovereignty of Reverie: The wearer’s mind is anchored by the dream of the Elseengine heart. Total immunity to mental exhaustion and perception-reading originating from lifeforms at or below THE SEAM.
Paramount Feature: EXISTENTIAL NARRATIVE DISPLACEMENT.
Description: A rare property forged through the convergence of an infinite dream, adverse pressure, and sovereign will. The ring constantly monitors the surrounding Weave. The moment an enemy authority capable of completely overshadowing your existence emerges, the ring triggers instantly before catastrophic harm can land, displacing your existence across unknown distances and unpredictable trajectories into the deep folds of THE SEAM.
...!
Noah looked down at the ring, the prompts burning brightly in the dim cavern.
He lifted his hand and slipped the band onto his middle finger.
It clicked into place, resizing seamlessly until it rested flush against his skin. The instant it made contact, a deep, cool stability rushed through his meridians. The throbbing ache in his skull smoothed over, blunted by the serene dream humming within the amber core.
The phantom fatigue of the Fiend’s sentence receded into the distance, unable to touch him anymore!
Noah stared at his hand.
For the first time since THE Unpaid Collector had filled the sky above Vasileia, for the first time since Provenance Lifeforms had been extinguished like candles and Aurelius’s twelfth stand had broken into blood, Noah felt a solid floor beneath his feet.
He was still vastly outmatched by the monsters that walked the Weave. He still could not face an Immense One in open combat. But he was no longer naked in their sight!
He had taken a tangible, calculated step toward ensuring that when a sky chose to fall on him, he would not simply have to stand there and die.
At this moment, the ring on his hand actually pulsed as a humanoid form emerged before him!
An illusory form of a grand and glorious engineer!
And uniquely his entire body was covered in a haze of strands and immensity as his features could not be clearly seen apart from the idea that he was looking at someone extremely old.
The illusory projection of Atlas materialized beside him, arms crossed, gazing down at the ring on Noah’s finger.
The ancient engineer was silent for several breaths, his eyes tracing the eight elemental orbits turning within the band.
|Somewhat impressive for a novice working in a poisoned reef, O Chance of Chances,| Atlas said, his tone dry, carrying none of the awe the finished relic deserved. |You did not botch the weld, and the displacement property is a decent roll of the dice. But that is all it is.|
Atlas looked up, his gaze piercing through the stone ceiling toward the dark, festering waters of THE Tide.
Existence is too vast, Dreamer. You forged a trinket that lets you scurry away from a descending foot, that is all. Even a genius like me, who mapped Existence and engineered domains that made the architects grind their teeth, could not attain what I wanted.
The old man turned his eyes back to Noah, cold and unyielding.
If even I could not achieve what I wanted, and I could move amongst Immense Ones without being one... what do you think your chances are?
"..."
Noah did not answer.
He did not offer an arrogant defense, and he did not justify his path. He simply stood in the quiet cavern, his obsidian pupils calm, his hand resting steady at his side as the prompts reflecting his finalized progress settled before his eyes.
You have fully withstood the initial descent of an Immense One’s sentence.
Your foundation solidifies permanently under the trial.
VERITAS: 113 (+2)
PROVENANCE: 118 (+2)
PONDUS: 112 (+2)
OSMONTIAN MOIRAI: 155 (+20)
The crafting of an unfindable relic alters the probability of your survival.
Noah summoned his complete status, the numbers arranging themselves in plain, stark alignment.
STATUS PANEL: NOAH OSMONT
Identity: THE True Human Emperor / THE Human Dreamer
VERITAS: 133 (113 + 20)
PROVENANCE: 138 (118 + 20)
POTENTIA: INFINITE
PONDUS: 132 (112 + 20)
OSMONTIAN MOIRAI: 155
The blue-gold numbers shone against the dim coral, steady and undeniable!
Noah lowered his hand.
The mandate still raged outside in the dark waters, but inside the hollow, THE True Human Emperor held boundless thoughts and dreams of what he needed to do next!
